WAIT! WAIT! Did you hear that! Right after Bioware announced all this:
"Its like a million fans cried out in terror and suddenly facepalmed"

LOL

Bioware: "Hawke is now the ultimate power in the universe. I suggest we worship him"

Darth Vader: "Don't be too proud of this mainstream stereotypical terror you've constructed. The ability to have better graphics and a VA is insignificant, next to the power of classic RPGs."

Bioware: "Don't try to fighten us with your sorcerous ways Lord Vader. Your sad devotion to that ancient genre has not helped you conjure up better sales. Or giving you clairvoyance enough to...*chokes*

Vader: I find your lack of loyalty to fans disturbing.

And then Darth Revan shows up, in an almost "Et tu" manner

What would be terrible is if while playing the game we go through some random location and see this:

Hawke selects body under rock:
"It appaers to be the body of a grey warden, who looks strangely famaliar, killed by what appears to be a pair of common bandits"
ME:FFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Gaider: GOTCHA!

Regarding the screenshot... Is that Male Hawke's default model. If so..... he does really look like Edric. Hahahaha.

Aaaand, Matt Rhodes posted this at dA. This version of the white-haired mage's concept art is slightly different and the face is more polished: mattrhodes.deviantart.com/#/d2tjeq0

she looks older, more weary, and her hand is less claw-like. Still, i can't figure who she is by her looks and just hope it is really somewhat i do not expect to be her

edit: why is she wearing feathers on her armor anyway? I have seen this before only once :(

That's her badass Daedric gauntlet man. Or maybe the demon grabber from Devil May Cry, I heard you can totally grab demons with it.

Maybe Thedas got invaded by the Necromongers and she was the Lady Marshall of the time? :P

Either that or she's Andraste. Or Flemeth. Or both.

Or Wynne.

Or perhaps a side effect of some strange weapon?

That would be just great. If there is one thing people want more of it's Wynne, she's the most talked about mage by far.

A weapon formed by the darkspawn taint. I can already see it now...

It might be lame, it might be awesome, it would all depend on how that was played out.

It's that demon who's come to collect.

... and once again, it would be yet another retcon for any who killed Wynne

Right, I think I finally nailed one thing about DA2 that royaly pissed me off.

The whole "DA2 is the most impotant story and Hawke the most important character in DA".

Can you say "Hello Mary Sue"?

We hardly know anything about him or the story and they're already telling us to accept it as the greatest thing ever.

So what does that make our Warden from Origins? Better yet, what does that make every future DA title? Leftovers?

Honestly I'm not sure if this is overdone marketing gymic or somebody really got hit on the head...

Oooh... nice catch Ximena!

I guess the differences there lie in that in this one she looks a good deal older what with the lines on her face, the cape is a bit raggedy, she seems more armored up and no longer has the shapeshifting dragon claw hand. Although the gauntlets might just be covering that up? Oh and it seems she lost the high heel steel boots:P

The feathers though... makes me think Morrigan.

I don't know, supposedly Hawke's story starts when he is a refugee fleeing from Lothering. So if we figure ten years out from Lothering, and Origins took 1-2 years and Awakening is about 6 months after Origins and Awakening might have lasted 1 year or so. So our Origins Warden would be kicking around for at most 3 years or so while Hawke is doing his thing. And Morrigan would be with the Warden for at least 1-2 years before possibly showing up in Hawke's adventures.

But then of course, Hawke fled north to the Free Marches from Lothering. Whereas by all accounts, Morrigan was headed West towards Orlais. Totally different directions.

So I'm thinking more and more this might not be Morrigan. Unless of course its a Morrigan thats been messed up by the DR somehow, unexpected consequences with the premature whitening of the hair and all

My guess is it could be Flemeth in a new body, maybe another Witch of the Wild and thus one of Morrigan's "sisters" or just somebody else entirely.

Shiori, that's just marketing crap.

Remember,

- Bioware Bazaar was supposed to be epic (Priestly)
- The best RPG of 2009 just got better (Awakening promo)

- Awakening will read your save file and give you a the world you created through your choices(Melo) :pinched:

I'm sure I can think of more if I try.

It's definitely not Morrigan.

She does however bear a striking resemblance to Morri.

Will be interesting to discover who she really is and if the two of them are related in any way.

My money is still on her bing Morrigan's biological mother.

And I think this also pretty much seals it that we won't be playing the Warden again, unless they're going to let us have 2 PCs. Since Hawke is fully voiced, he could transition into NPC/Companion status a lot easier (since the Warden is for the most part voiceless).

TBF, wasn't our Warden another Mary Sue?

Now that I think of it, I think I might have a name for my femHawke. Mary Sue Hawke.

I know - original

From what I've seen and heard so far I'm inclined to think the severe head injury is the problem.

I've heard this theory before that Hawke is important but ancillary at the same time, that we build him up in DA2 only to return as The Warden and destroy him in DA3. It sounds like the craziest thing I've ever heard, I mean do they really expect people to keep savegames for 4 or 5 years? It just feels like wishful thinking by people who want to convince themselves that BioWare woundn't abandon them like this.

Instead of a divine march we need a last March of the fans. Something like this:

Random Bioware fan: I remeber in Dragon Age when.. one.. oh no..

<sees the gutted remains of a true rpgs left smoldering on the ground, plus the sign AMPED UP>

RBF: Many of these games were my favourites. Ones I had played since the Xbox and my old PC. They had charachters of their own, and stories too.

<sees the smoke billiowing from Bioware HQ>

RBF: BIOWARE!!! A DEVELOPER SHOULD KNOW BETTER!!!

RBF: NNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RBF: There is no curse in geekish, nerdese, or the tounges of fans to describe this evil.

RBF: My buisness is with Bioware, with developers and writers.

<Behind the fan an army of Morriganites, Alistairites, Lelianaites, Zevranites, and others emerge>

RBF: Come my friends, the fans are going to war. It is likely that we go to be ignored.

RBF: LAST MARCH OF THE RPG FANS.

<The fans march on Bioware, EA, the Marketers, and their army of BROS>

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The rest I leave up to you since I just nerded out way to much.

Regarding the white-haired mage being Morri, I am leaning on the "It's not Morri" side. Though it's not far that Morrigan experienced some kind of backlash from the DR. Or it's just me reading too much into her "I'm already lost" line during the DR conversation. XD

@Dragon Age games continuity

I'm not very hopeful on the games having continuity in terms of the PC character/protagonist. Haha. The line "Dragon Age universe has a lot of stories" pretty much made me think that they're really going the NWN route. But meh. Surprise me Bioware. Especially now that I'm a very disappointed panda.
