I said a dumb console owner not a smart one like you Knight!

Thank you Adneate.
Still, I might buy DA2 on PC if the gameplay on the 360 becomes less tactical and more "amped up". Because if I wanted to play an action oriented sword game, I'd settle for Assassin's creed.

Knight... or Bro if you like, you should definitely consider making the switch to PC, it has so many benefits.KnightofPhoenix wrote...

Anyone have a link to where the dynasty warriors-esque stuff is coming from, haven't seen any mention of it myself.KnightofPhoenix wrote...
They said it wasn't on the
Dynasty warriors end of the spectrum. But yes just reading "Dynasty
Warriors" in the very same sentence made me very worried. Right now, the
combat system is one of my major concerns.

Whats not clear to me is how the combat gameplay will work. From the GI quotes it seems its pause and play when zoomed out on PC but does it change to the "Spartan" button mashing when you zoom in? Or can you still pause and play when zoomed in close, even on PC? The quote from the GI article on how its easier to port back from console to PC makes me think that the PC might end up getting stuck with the twitch happy button mashing if we try to zoom in...

I play Origins on PC, but I'm rarely zoomed all the way out in combat- I like staying zoomed in to appreciate the combat animations and switch between party members and such. I'd hate it if the combat changes are distinct in a zoomed in vs. zoomed out mode.

I forgot where I read it Terra. I'll try to find it for you.
And yea, I am considering shifting to the PC. Might even buy Origins again.

From what I understood so far, it seems like combat on pc will stay as it was in Origins. Console users will see some changes to make the whole thing easier to control for them, since they lack the sheer amount of keybindings, as well as mouse and keyboard controls system of the pc.

it's worth it. Have both console and pc edition myself, and the pc edition is so much better, graphically and gameplay as well. Wonder how it will be with DA 2, as it's seems to be more like Mass Effect. And with ME, especially Me 2, the console edition is way better than the pc edition
adneate wrote...
Really ME2 is markedly better on console? I find the control scheme pretty easy to use once you get the hang of the cover system. Plus even ME2 has mods on PC, dispite no official support for it.

In the end, it of course comes down to what you like best, personally. But to me, controls and gameplay on the console just felt better and more natural on console than it did on the pc. Like it was developed for console and just somwwhat poorly ported for pc. But in the end, as said, it's a personal matter to a huge disagree, so anyone can disagree and i won't argue

Yeah fair enough, I'm very comfortable with my mouse and keyboard set-up. I've always got the console game vibe off the series though, particularly the first one with it's low screen resolution. At least ME2 has support for 1680 x 1050.
Brockololly wrote...
Yeah, the lack of proper keyboard shortcuts and the horrible textures on everything but the faces in ME2 really turns me off to it. Then you've got the really clunky looking pop ups and everything too...Yeah, its pretty obvious it wasn't designed with the PC in mind.

All it really said was that the PC version will have the same ability to "examine the battlefield closely, make decisions from a top-down view, and direct your party likea general." They say they got to play the Xbox 360 version and they can"confirm that it is faster, more responsive, and more fluid than before. As soon as you press a button, something happens. As a warrior, Hawke threw down special strikes and used a new dash move to slash through darkspawn with ease. It isn't on the Dynasty Warriors side of the spectrum, but with obvious improvements to the targeting system and animations, playing Dragon Age II with a controller finally feels natural."
