Well judging by what we've seen so far I'd say they are going to be exactly the same. HIGH OOHHHH!

Isn't it supposed to be hey oh? Not high oh? Posted Image

I've heard both. I personally say high oh.

Morrigan by proxy

I thought Carson always said High oh. Anyone else doesn't matter.

Do any of you think that this song fits a Morrigan Romance pretty well:

At least in some cases, for goody two shoes Wardens.

LOL, Theory of a Deadman ALWAYS reminds me of Morrigan and the Warden!!!! Little Smirk makes me think of Wardens that are seriously pissed off after she leaves even though they did the DR, great song.

I've been to one too many Green Day shows (one, but it kicked so much ass lol) and when the lead singer says hey oh to keep the crowd involved over and over again, it kind of gets imprinted into your brain. Posted Image

Gaider confirms it, we'll see some familiar faces (other than Flemeth) in DA2.

I wonder if anyone has had this experience in-game (and sorry i haven't gone through all the previous posts to find out).

As a female city elf in the Lothering Chantry with Alistair, Leliana and Morrigan in my party I asked to receive the Revered Mother's blessing. Cue a cut scene I had never seen before with all party member's kneeling down to receive the blessing. Even Morrigan!

Something's wrong there.

Ya, its pretty sad, I actually got, "its just a game, calm down" as a reply when I just posted that I thought VO was the wrong way to go. Its funny, that guy said its just a game, but seemed ready to give his life to defend it. I guess I'm just MYOPIC is all.

Yeah, the Bros aren't even half as annoying as the gurus who want to lead everyone in solemn meditation.

The funniest part is anyone who took any sort of Interpersonal Communication course in college (or has a hefty dose of uncommon sense) knows that the number one way to set someone off when emotions are rising is to tell them to 'calm down'. It's kerosene on a fire. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if that's the point though, there seems to be quite a bit of 'Look at my High Horse, it's Internetian for IM RIGHT'. It's not a personal slight if you don't like the current direction, it just means you don't like what you see so far 'tis all. Somepeople have lost the grip on that.

I missed page 200, ah well. I think I've posted enough Morrigan art to lay claim to a retroactive post back there as my part to le fete.

Hey, maybe we figured out the new 'Gotcha!' moment in DA2. Flemeth eats people after a little bunk time, maybe thats Uber Hawke's ending. Crunch, fade to black. Gotcha. Send more money.

Photos with updated lighting are still extremely underwhelming. I just do not like Dragon Ages lighting, direct light washes out a lot of the color and detail in their textures and it seems to be coming back for round two.

"No. The dragon is Morrigan. I'm surprised no one started a thread to
point it out."

Wouldn't surprise me if Morrigan and Flemeth both turned out to be Dragons who took human form.

"I got called cute and entitled there. I was pretty amazed."

Condescending High-Horse is the number two marker (Blind stupid rage being no.1) as a defensible argument for those that truly have no real position. I see that and just laugh.

"Try Canadian Rye Wiskey can't go wrong with Black Label Canadian Club
classic."

I'm a fan of Springbank myself.

"I'm thinking Flemeth is pulling the strings in a major way here- with
the Warden, Morrigan, the DR and now woth Hawke....but to what end???"

Chantryland and Andrastae dominate the world now. It would be the most obvious (although not exactly the most assured) reasoning to believe that she is trying to bring back the Old God's to their former status. Getting a pure Old God into a mortal vessel in game one, set up a 'Kingdom' for him or her in game two, those are pretty potent starting pieces to a political and theolgical puzzle to get from Point A to Point B. I'm at least hoping she is going to show some serious talent for 'the game'. I'll be dissapointed if it turns out to be 'just another scheme'.

"Does he make a direct run to the Free Marches and Kirkwall"

First, Kirkwall grates on me. That's like saying Aeramathius, Dragon Champion of Dublin.  And I would think they would make a straight run through the Bannorn and into the Marches. If you went west as a refugee you would probably get pulled into the major cities like Redcliffe or pass over into Orlais (which cannot be more hazardous to travel to than the Marches). No, they probably ran a straight route with the Darkspawn on their heels.

"Cue a cut scene I had never seen before with all party member's kneeling
down to receive the blessing. Even Morrigan!"

Yeah, and then I took a reputation knock from Morrigan to boot. Hah. Could have been something I said in conversation though.

"Morrigan by proxy"

Mmm, the radiant Aeryn Sun. I miss you Farscape :(

As far as songs that go with Morrigan and the Warden,  NIN's stuff really fits IMO:

The Fragile works really, really well for the Warden x Morrigan romance. As does NIN's And All That Could Have Been with Morrigan running away and everything.

And NIN's The Great Below is perfect for the Warden going on his Calling thinking back on his life...

Credit to Ximena and DW for most of the NIN song connections to DA!

That's been my working theory for the change, that if the United Free Marches goes rogue from the Divine in Orlais you've got a world war on hand. Awakening seems to suggest a new blight starting in the Anderfells, so if that turns out true then the Darkspawn can decapitate the Grey Wardens and leave the rest to bitter and divided by a religious war. The Free Marches seem very similar to Germany before the unification, that together they might be far stronger than Orlais (France) and naturally would overrun the continent. With everyone so bitter and divided it would be the perfect time for the return of a hero of legend. A Grey Warden who fought and won against a blight in the past. I can hope right?

FWIW, I have it on good authority that the females are getting new animation rigs...apparently, the phrase "Morrigan looks like a linebacker" was  repeatedly thrown at the art and animation departments....per Mary Kirby.

Ugh, hopefully they note this for ME3. Though I'm not sure what they mean by "Morrigan looks like a linebacker", I've never noticed anything about the females that remind my of linebackers

Does that mean proportioned skeleton rigging like Mass Effect ALWAYS had or all female characters are going to strut like models down a cat walk in high heels? That comment is funny since Morrigan's default outfit actually has very narrow shoulders unlike say studded leather armor where the shoulders are an entire head unit too wide.

I think its just that all the female models have broad shoulders- or at least, the bodies seem kind of oddly shaped and broad, IMO.

Well you'd be right. For the most part women should have narrow shoulders around 2 head units wide but no larger than 3 head units wide. Most of the female meshes in Origins are 4 head units wide, which is just really strange looking. They never did that with ME so it's welcome to hear them say they're going to stop doing it in DA2.

Actually that is pretty cool setup.
When Germany unified and gave the "ye old middle finger" to the Vatican with Protestantism that started centuries of brutal wars.  If the Wardens get nuked, a divine crusade, and  a new superpower rises that would be something.

Damn now I am thinking the Flemeth might not just be an abomination. What if she is an old god instead.
Look at it this way every other demon even Pride ones fail and get trapped, or killed of pretty easily through sheer hubris in most cases. What if Flemeth is trying to bring back her brethern and is more than a mere demon?

Nuts, now killing her off is suddenly not so smart.

This is one reason I'm really looking forward to some actual gameplay videos- the graphics are one thing but the animations in DAO were not that good either. The killing blows were good fun but hopefully the other ones will be a bit smoother and more natural.

Yeah me too I've come to accept that it won't be as good as Origins. I'm not thrilled by such a revelation but if it can stand on it's own feet as an independent game then I'll give it a shot, however just sticking Dragon Age on this game does nothing for me. BioWare is starting from square one, I've never heard of this thing before and they've got to sell me on it or I won't buy it.

Hence why Flemeth is alive in most of my games. Only one of my canon characters killed her (Neve Surana, my mage)

"Most of the female meshes in Origins are 4 head units wide, which is just really strange looking"

They used one model they altered for all the races, but every woman in the game is based off measurements they took from V.E.

"Nuts, now killing her off is suddenly not so smart."

Eh, I stand by my decision even if it comes out to be a bad move. I did it for Morrigan, not as part of anyone's master plan.

"apparently, the phrase "Morrigan looks like a linebacker" was repeatedly thrown at the art and animation departments."

So we are going to the Mass Effect combat-catwalk-sashay?

"As far as songs that go with Morrigan and the Warden, NIN's stuff really fits IMO:"

I've been listening to a lot of Clint Mansell and Two Steps From Hell lately. Three Year Plan and Moving Mountains would be the soundtrack in my head atm.

While I agree that she's no mere demon (or abomination), I doubt that she's an old god as well. While it is possible and provides motivation for the DR (something she needed Morrigan to do), I think she's in her own category, which can be placed somewhere between standard demon/standard abomination, and Old God. Of course, what none of us know is what an Old God actually looks like. The archdemon is one thing, but a regular Old God is another thing entirely.

Another great 'relationship gone wrong' song with Morrigan. Its DOA by the Foo Fighters, seems light hearted but its pretty dark if you read into the lyrics.

About the women in Origins, I personally liked that they weren't all supermodels in terms of their bodies. Of course I can't look into the nitty gritty seeing as the fact that I'm playing on a 360. I've been looking around on sites like IGN and Gametrailers and they all seem to confirm that in terms of combat, the pc is going to be largely untouched. People like me are getting the short end of the stick with a middle finger attached to it, or so it would seem. I'd switch to PC if I could but my laptop wouldn't be able to handle it probably.

BTW, anyone think that maybe the game ends with the mention of an unexplainable evil brewing in Orlais? And only one person can stop it? I'm just hoping some mention of how awesome the Warden was is going to be in DA2, they deserve at least that.
