Garrus has a sexy as hell voice though...

but yeah if Garrus was human I would be all over him but he isnt hes a space dinosaur alien sniper batman =3

so Garrus is just regulated to bro status

Yeah I like Garrus but you've got to draw the line somewhere, and anaphylactic shock is that line for me. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should . . .

I didnt even know about the anaphylactic shock part...

hell I just found out about Thane making you high and giving you rashes for the first time earlier today...

...god im so glad thane didnt turn out to be the gay romance option because dud hes a fish person that gives you skin rashes just by touching him...(not like they kept any of the gay romances in either games outside femshep/liara)

Why on earth did they make these people romance options if humans are allergic to them? Are these just the female options, do the male romance options have the same crazy hurdles?

@Addai, I usually don't read companion novels because (in my opinion) they tend to be pretty subpar. The best one I've read was the Halo ones and they were "meh".

The HAlo books were great IMO.

@Brock, wait a minute. A page back you were ranting about how 'cinematic' video games are kind of pointless and you should just watch a movie instead. Although I agree, this one part caught me off guard. You mentioned Nolan, Terentino and 'real' film makers. I'm guessing I just interpreted it wrong but at first glance I thought you weren't calling those two legitimate film makers. Lol, I get it now. Posted Image

Does anyone else feel that in giving us visual hints (sarcastic, happy, sad) as to what Hawke intends to say is actually simplifying the conversation aspect of DA2 even more? I just find it depressing that wanting to simplify something that was originally tailored to the 'hard-core' audience is being championed by most of the people in the DA2 forums. You know, I wouldn't be surprised if in the next DA the choices are literally good response, bad response. That's it. doesn't get much more simple than that. Gaider did say that there'll be an Investigate option in conversations which allows for more options than in Origins, however, if the Investigate options are anything like in ME, its just going to be boring background info like why the darkspawn are attacking the castle or why the person is in the castle for example. Unless your RPing an extremely inquisitive Hawke, than I don't really see a point in bothering with those options. I need sleep....... hope Cobb doesn't invade my subconscious though. I go to bed every night with the fear that my deepest secrets are about to be stolen, thanks Inception. Posted ImagePosted Image

Males get Tali who's immune system is so weak she has to stay in an enviro suit all the time, and she gets sick off everything. Other than it's two human women, just FemShep gets the bumper crop of weird aliens. I stuck with Liara, since I like her and she won't kill you with her spit.

A woman who is equally likely to kill you as sleep with you might be a hurdle. And Tali gets sick every time you do it, and could potentially die if she doesn't heavily medicate herself.

I like all of the romances in ME2 to a certain degree except for Garrus and Jacob. Garrus mostly because I didn't get the feeling that he was actually interested in a relationship, just "releaving tension" (of course, I didn't get passed that part, so I may have missed something). Jacob is just....noooooo, not the way Shepard acts around him and the cheesy lines he gets.

I was hoping that if they were going to use that system, that you would be able to pick a line and then choose how Hawke would deliver it. Granted, this would get old quickly, but just simplifying it doesn't fix what is wrong with it already. Namely, choosing something and then it being radically different than what you actually want to say.

Saying Jacob's lines are cheesy is an insult to cheeses everywhere, his lines are horrible like slash fic bad. How any human being can stand that garbage is beyond me, I can't even listen to it without wanting to hurl my computer out a window.

What's sad is that when I first saw him, I already knew the name of the people you could romance, and I thought "He ain't half bad. I may go after him." The first convo you have with him right before the mission where you meet Tali reinforced this. Then we got on the Normandy and any chance of romancing him shot down. Seriously, who in Bioware really thought that making Shepard act that way was okay? I wouldn't mind having the more....forward lines if you could choose to say something friendly. But all of Shepard's lines turn from "Hey Jacob, what's up?" to "Hey lover, you want to take me in the elevator?"

Do. Not. Want:pinched:

We have determined it sort of icky, things must either be not icky or very icky to be romancable. Thus is the BioWare rule of getting it on.

What if the darkspawn looked like the pic below, but with...ummm...Taint eyes and discolored arms? Not really icky, just unsettling.

What's funny is in the Mass Effect documentary the writers were actively talking about how they liked the whole "You never know what Shepard is gonna say next," thing. Well with Jacob they really out did themselves there I was not expecting that to say the least.

I don't know it wouldn't be icky so it would probably still be sort of icky and thus couldn't be a romance option, just a party member. :D

Yeah, because even their alien Mass Effect LI's have some kind of poison to make sure you stay celibate. Fun ruiners.

Thing is, I WANT to know what Shepard is going to say next. Especially if I'm the one who is choosing his/her lines.

I'm all for being surprised in games, but Shepard sounds mildly insane, like you never quite know what's going to set him/her off or say something wildly inappropriate.

Well Liara won't ever do that to you she's just blue, plus she's the only Asari in the galaxy with eyebrows you can't discount that.

Well the Jacob thing is the big one from ME2 and from ME1 I remember that if you're rude to the Asari consort instead of sending you on your way with words of wisdom you have sex with her. Needless to say that's a pretty big outcome from one dialogue choice . . . :pinched:

Even Jacob thinks Shepard's crazy when she starts flirting with him (in a
very inappropriate manner). You know you're crazy when this guy Posted Image looks at you
