Stories, even great ones that move you to the point of tears (and other bodily fluids), have to end because that's the only way we can get closure on them. Look at long-running series like Babylon 5 and Stargate SG-1. having them come to an end and wrapping them up make their stories far more powerful because we can breathe a sigh of relief as plot threads are resolved, characters reach a point where they can rest, and we can take a breath.
Stories that don't ultimately end keep the player on their toes, forever anticipating an ending that will never come. It is not nearly as satisfying, having character and plot threads remain unresolved. Like soap operas, for example. Fans are kept in a perpetual state of anticipation and heightened tension which can never end because the stories are ongoing, sometimes for years. It does eventually get boring.

I think he works with the beta-testing and such as well. Like the Priestly.

As for ME's voice acting- the actual voice acting is generally top notch in every BioWare game. The writing however is a big difference, IMO. Some of the dialogue is straight up terrible in ME- it doesn't matter how great of a voice actor you are. Its like what Harrison Ford said to Lucas about the Star Wars script: "George, you can type this ****, but you sure as hell can't say it."
I definitely love the ME series, but its like I've said before: ME is like fun popcorn movie, you'll enjoy it but once the spectacle is gone, its quite forgettable. Origins is more like a really solid novel- it lasts you a while, engages your imagination and even once you're done with it, you come back to it and find new things.

That's a quote from Imperfect Hero! Ford's biography! Have you read it? I personally loved it, well I pretty much love anything with Ford in it. He's my favorite actor. And as for that Stanley Woo quote....... bleh. I want closure to a plot thread that is begging to be tied up or sat least somewhat resolved. If that makes me crazy then I'm fricken insane.Brockololly wrote...

So I've realized, though at the time I decided my femShep needed to die, I did not know this was a problem.adneate wrote...

Was she the same VA in ME1? 'Cuz I thought femShep in ME1 sucked swamp.
Yeah Hale is the VA for both games. I thought you already said you get annoyed with all female voice actors, even Claudia Black at times.

You guys were right. I thought I knew what a RPG was, and was so, so wrong.
Oh, and because I feel guilty for the hijacks, here's a Smailika Morrigan.

And for all of the praise for Hale and FemShep, I cannot stand Hale's FemShep- she just sounds like she is trying waaaay too hard to be some badass, IMO.
The VO for Hawke will really impact how much I connect to DA2 and probably how much I'll enjoy the game.
And hooray for Morrigan!

No, no, no, Addai- I think the problem is that you stepped foot in the DA2 forums in the first place. ;)One goes into there expecting reason and leaves only having found madness. Hopefully it calms down in there soon, but its doubtful....
I believe the craziness will amplify tenfold once SDCC ends and no one is spilling the beans because of that NDA. >_> There was one thread I didn't find too mad and it was that unofficial Flemeth origin thread (if I remember correctly), but then I somehow felt that it would soon turn into another flemeth=morrigan! conversation.

I'm hoping we learn something or get some decent info out of either GI on the web or something from Comic Con. But we probably won't get anything big until 8/17 and the trailer and Gamescom.I'm hoping that we see some actual gameplay at Gamescom...

Exactly. And both of them, male and female Shepard, on the romance stuff.... just... urrghh.Brockololly wrote...

As for Claudia Black, there was really only one line that made me cringe, the "cold in my tent" line. The rest is spiffy. But obviously, our PC would not be voiced by Morrigan.
Assuming there's a nice voice for the male Hawke, I could see playing through once for the smexy factor. But that's not something I'm willing to pay retail for.

I'm obviously way clueless about game lingo. I go into a thread about "not watering down roleplay elements" and all they're talking about is the type of loot that's available.
You guys were right. I thought I knew what a RPG was, and was so, so wrong.
You have no idea. It's all about "teh fat lootz" and grinding for XP, people got pissed at Mass Effect 2 because instead of having a million guns of slightly different stats and colours they switched to guns that were actually useful from beginning to end and were unique.

Ya, listening to all of Morrigan's dialouge and discovering about her on the first playthrough was simply amazing. Tied with Alistair and Lel for best written IMO. The speech Lel gives you when she admits she loves you gets me every time, even when I didn't plan on romancing her. I'd say Morrigan is the most interesting character in a Bioware game, well at least from all the Bio games that I've played. Best written? That would have to go to Atton Rand. Out from left field, I know.Addai67 wrote...

But I'm getting off topic again. Here's a great Morri pic I found on Deviant Art. Man, people like ximena and the person that drew this put even my stickfigure drawings to shame.

Meh, whatever. DA2 has already bored me to where I don't care to keep tabs on it; Steam sale only for me currently. Andy Chambers and Blizzard have several releases that are about to hit that will carry me for quite some time.
Speaking of which, I haven't been paying attention for the last week. What's new?

It seems like it's connected to the hip. Does that still qualify as a cape?
