I'm obviously way clueless about game lingo. I go into a thread about "not watering down roleplay elements" and all they're talking about is the type of loot that's available.
You guys were right. I thought I knew what a RPG was, and was so, so wrong.
You have no idea. It's all about "teh fat lootz" and grinding for XP, people got pissed at Mass Effect 2 because instead of having a million guns of slightly different stats and colours they switched to guns that were actually useful from beginning to end and were unique.
Ha. Achievements is something else I never understood. Ah well, I sound like an old granny yelling at the kids for getting into her crocheting.

It's been confirmed by the devs. A wallpaper of her concept from GI was named Flemeth.
-in unspeakably happy- Maybe she'll be a romance option and allll my dreams with come true^_^

I do wonder if Morrigan is the flipside of the same coin that is Flemeth. They say Flemeth is both the old hag as much as a young and beautiful seductress. Flemeth herself says she once was just as beautiful as Morrigan is now. And Mary Kirby said Flemeth just fooled us by pretending to be nothing more than an old hag.
I am starting to fear that indeed Flemeth and Morrigan are the same. Maybe Morrigan was indeed her daughter, and after she send her with us she got rid of her one night unnoticed and recplaced her. It is somewhat odd that if you accept Morrigans quest and return to the hut, Flemeth is always there, just if you show up with Morrigan, than suddenly she is not around.
I hope my fears proves wrong and they it doesn't end THAT bad for all of us, i am just getting a bad feeling about all of this.
You missed my point.
I wasn't trying to imply that Morrigan and Flemeth are one and the same, just that Flemeth tried to make Morrigan to be as similar to her as possible. Might be so she could possess her more easily.
In that case Morrigan falling in love with the Warden or becoming his/her friend would mess things up big time, since the Warden would force Morri to face feelings she previously avoided as weakness or didn't know existed. Such a thing could make Morrigan question what she's been taught and make her follow her own path.
And I don't think they'll go for "Morrigan is Flemeth" card. That would seriously destroy the appeal of her character without really delivering a good payback. Much better, imo, to make Morri develope into her own and make her a character who shares some beliefs with Flemeth (power and survival) but also disagrees with her over other things (love and friendship). You can see that this is what is happening in Origins if you befriend or romance Morri and I hope they continue in that direction in future DA titles.
Morrigan has a lot of potential as a character and Bioware shouldn't throw that away for the sake of a simple "gotcha" moment.

Thanks for the link. The first thing that caught my eyes though was the jaggedness of the graphics. Haha. It's really nice to see that they're animating clothes now. Now I want to see that video they're releasing in August more and more. D:

It seems to have a low resolution.
And man, they had shampoo that really brought out the shine in your hair.

I have to say the two art influences they name, the late-medieval chaos type of painting and the Akira Kurosawa film, both zing me. Those are right up my alley. Damn it all if they make a game that is great in every way except for what matters most to me (being able to get in my PC's head and direct her action without the VO).
A stupid sexy Flanders game maybe?
I still hope that there will be an option to shut off the voice though.

Made me suddenly wonder if the different art direction would also mean whiter teeth. Haha. *headdesks* (God I need more substantial information to sink my teeth into. I find myself citing trivilal things. XD)

Glad to see I wasn't the only one bothered by the rotten brown teeth in Dragon Age, first mod I ever used made them white.

I like Flemeth's warrior mage look. Except for the textures, those still don't look that great. They're so blurry.

I was just thinking that there is a possibility that the darkspawn only show up at the beginning of the story, like there in Lothering and in the following 1 year. Perhaps after the Blight ends, you won't really see any more darkspawn in DA2. That would account for the Warden being missing... I guess unless the OGB and/or Morrigan showed up later.

You will be going down into the deep roads at one time or another, there will more than likely be darkspawn there too at least.

1. There is a concept of it.
2. As one of the examples of what Hawke could be known for amongst people (stock things) was finding an ancient artifact in the deep roads.

She could simply have shapeshifted. When you ask Morrigan about shifting into other human forms, she just says there's no value (to her) in it, but not that she can't do it.GardenSnake wrote...

Mm also some of the new lore on flemeth, that tale of the templar that tried to find and kill her can't recall the link atm but it is somewhere in this thread, did state that all who spoke to the templar were flemeth. So perhaps she really is the uber shifter
Still I approve of the image, a slight improvement at least on character detail with the cape and also the model itself looks a lot more refined than the models in DAO. Still the cape we will have to see actually move before we can make any judgements on the matter ;D

But having possessed someone makes sense seeing as the fact that she'll be dead in some people's playthroughs. YOu could be right of course, if she survived in Origins this could be a shapeshift but if not, she possessed someone. Is it just me, or does she look kind of Chasind? I always pictured Chasind people looking sort of like that. Details like the fur shoulder pads always painted that image in my mind.Addai67 wrote...

I think that meeting that is depicted is during the destruction of Lothering. And you have not yet had the opportunity to kill her by that time. In this case she wants to go in with a "shock and awe" tactic.
She is an old barbarian and is known to breed with Chasind to get daughters. It stands to reason that she would look the part.

Lothering will be destroyed once you complete an ally quest, and to get the Grimoire you would have gone through the Tower and finished Broken Circle at the very least. As Greagoir reminds us "once the doors shut there's no coming back" without completing Broken Circle. So the game pretty much locks out the idea of killing Flemeth before Lothering bites it.GardenSnake wrote...

Good point, but that means that she looks different for Hawke just because Bioware wants her to? Come on, that just sucks. But seeing as the fact that the game spans ten years, we could potentially see her as an old hag again. Having her as a potential party member does intruige me. Especially if she at one point mentions being killed by a tall dark and handsome Grey WardenAddai67 wrote...
