I think (hope) that they have something up their sleeves. I also can't see them bringing Flemeth back and not Morrigan. It might not be now but in the future. My ending slide for Awakening chapped my a**, I know that much. And that was with Alistair. Closure in all regards would be grand.

Now the other twob you mentioned, yes, those I have heard haha.
But as the Woomaster said, we should stay on topic SO, in one of the DA 2 threads, Laidlaw said that he was approached by a girl wearing an I Dragon Alistair shirt and when she asked him if we were going to see anyone in DA2, Laidlaw said she wouldn't be disappointed (I should really start quoting these things, I know, sorry). From all the preview's I've seen it seems like they haven't pointed out to the crowds that Flemeth is Flemeth so unless Laidlaw was refering to her, potentially Morrigan? I hope not. For fear of a retcon or a romance option. Hopefully this 'how the Chantry has fallen' thing is directly related to her and the OGB and the warden has to take care of all this in DA3, make it happen Bioware.
My friend is still in denial and thinks that all of this DA2 announcement was just a joke and when the game comes out it'll be a direct sequal to Origins with the same combat and bioware will admit that they were screwing with us as some kind of sick joke. If only it were so.......

Also I heard Cailans death urp on the guys computer.
If you look closely at the screen on the guys left at 2:16 at the bottom left, that may be Morrigan.
Maybe the intro animatic will show us what we chose at the start of DA.

Wanted to see some combat, but HAwke being shirtless made me facepalm. Ya, early build I know, but God does that help sell the whole sparta thing or what? Archetypes look interesting and the 2d art looked very well made, I want to see combat dammit!Brockololly wrote...

My thinking there is if you look at the staff, it seems the top figure is the new Flemeth- her staff matches up with the concept art seen here:

Then the bottom one- could it be a profile view of Morrigan with her hood up? Maybe with her wooden mage staff on her back? Then it looks as if she is looking at the moon or something. But it has the red dragon type symbol on it:

Could it be thats symbolizing the Old Gods or the OGB? Whatever it is its the same symbol seen in the wallpaper here:
I can't say I'm thrilled we only saw the console version- but the landscape didn't look half bad- the sky was actually seemed to have moving clouds and there were some burning embers floating in the air, which is a nice touch.

But I noticed Flemeth in there, and it could be Morrigan.
Edit: It might be an alternate cinematic for if you did the DR. It is supposed to be a short recap in the beginning IIRC.

Could be a Hawke... but would they be so literal with Hawke, giving him a goofy graffiti?
I'm guessing the 2D stuff is from the beginning of the game recapping Origins. So if that is Morrigan, then perhaps 2D glimpse is a hint of how she'd look in the new art style? Red cloak, with hood up and really pale skin?

As for Morrigan's look (if that is her):
- She has got something going on with the front top of her head- black hair spike? Mo-HAWKE? (sorry), or like Flemeth, is her "new visual style" going to be dictated by her shapeshifting ability somehow? Basically Flemeth's new look is very dragon like- if Morrigan isn't turning into a dragon too, then is she just adopting a nature sort of vibe?
- And the other little thing worth noting maybe, is the sort of white curl shape going down the front- is that her hair or just some stylized design thingy? Did they give Morrigan black and white skunk hair with a Mo-HAWKE?

And the discouraging thing when I watch that video is how there is a 360 controller in practically every shot. They can say they're working on all 3 at the same time, but they're not fooling anyone- 360 is their primary concern.

Back to the topic at hand, I'm sure those white lines were just part of the art, but Brock's comment got me thinking. Would a pregnency with the OGB potentially affect Morrigan's appearance? I'd like to think she'd look the same like in Ximena's comic, but who knows. If they do bring her back looking all different, Bioware's reason/excuse could be that the pregnancy has drained her a lot. And if she didn't do the DR? She's been taking too much lyrium..... or been mauled by that mystical bronto in the upcoming dlc.

Yay for me?If they change it too much, I'll play it on pc, but if the combat system is reminiscent of JAde Empire and retains enough RPG elements, then I'm really happy about this 360 love. But yes, throwing the pc crowd aside (the crowd that Bioware so lovingly tended to for Origins) is a huge stab in the back, I'd be pissed too if say... Bungie decided to make the pc the lead design platform for Reach. Unlikely (impossible at this point in time actually) but Bioware shocked everyone which proves anything is possible. Who knows, the next Star Wars Battlefront on the consoles (Am I the only one who REALLY misses that series? To think they were making a new one...) might be a chess game
I have no problem if they're working alot on the 360 version- thats awesome. But if the consoles are getting the brunt of the attention and the game is being designed from the ground up with the limitations of the consoles in mind, then just say so. Its clear they're focusing on the consoles and then moving that work on to the PC- I just want to know if DA2 will "feel" like a console port or if they're going to bother putting in PC specific features that wouldn't work on the console, but are expected on a PC game.

I've thought that maybe the DR or having the OGB might alter Morrigan's appearance somehow- not sure how, but I guess it gets to the whole unintended consequences aspect of the DR they could touch upon.
I just hope that her in game face model stays the same- otherwise it just seems like someone threw on a face mod or they just recasted her. It would just be another visual inconsistency between Origins and DA2- and I hate visual retcons...

As for the pregnancy having an effect on Morrigan, it's possible if the old god soul is taking that much toll on her. I am reading too much into her DR "I'm already lost" line again. >_> Why would she say that she's lost? Is it because the DR would eat her up, or because the ritual is tearing her apart? o:

Hmmm. So I stared at that potential 2d art frame of what-could be Morrigan. *narrows eyes* I couldn't quite put a finger onto what that white curly thing is. But somehow, I have a gut feeling this isn't Morri... or something.
It could be someone entirely different than Morri. I'm just grapsing at straws for any Morri news...But I'm thinking this chunk of 2D art is the intro stuff, and will likely cover the events of Origins.
I'm thinking that maybe, if they "redesign" or "amp up" or "hot rod samurai" Morrigan, they'll kind of go back to her initial concept art like this:

Namely, make her more goth looking, paler skin, basically make her look more like a creepy witch. I would not be happy if they went that route, but say they did.
Looking at that concept art, then compare it to the maybe-maybe not Morrigan face in the video:

The wooden staffs seem to match up, unless the its not really a staff in the art, but just decoration.
The hood- Morrigan is one of the few people in Origins to have a hood- although she never wears it in the game, just the promo art.
Thinking of what thet curly white thing could be- since it seems Hawke and many others have fur adorning their clothes now, could it maybe just be a bit of animal fur on her robe or something?

I've wondered about that line too, Ximena. On one hand it may be literal, that the DR is going to maybe do something unpleasant and she is knowingly making some sacrifice to do it. Yet, I think maybe more likely her "I am already lost." line is referring to the fact that in her mind, she has already committed to going through with the DR and thus leaving the Warden- thus she is already lost to the Warden at that point, as no matter what happens, she is ditching him after the battle, as much as it pains her to do so.

Hmmm. Morrigan is fine the way she looks. >_> But as long as they don't murder her design too much, I could live with it. The concept art's difference to the Morrigan we get is generally the face structure since they decided to base her off Victorria for the game. Morrigan is already pale in comparison to the other characters. But really, she's fine the way she is.
Anyway, I just dropped by to say that the group in dA is open now for prompts. Since there aren't much Morrigan art/fiction prompts in the DA fandom. You can drop by the dA page. Go here.
