Yeah I'm in the same boat. If it gets solid reviews I'll probably pick it up, but it's not a must buy as far as I'm concerned.Brockololly wrote...
I won't rush out to buy the DLC this time around- it may be a good combat driven dungeon crawl, but the primary reason I want to play as the Warden again is to meet back up with old companions- any old chump can go grinding in the Deep Roads...
I'd much rather see some familiar faces than a bunch of new chars who we'll get to know for an hour and never hear from again...

So all hope is not lost.
That some probably being the ones we saw in DAO and DAA. I seriously will have to see how this is played out, but right now I do have my worries. Hopefully we'll have mods available as a last resort.
Also, I'm now curious (and possibly concerned) as to the redesigns dwarves and elves will undertake...

According to Gaider and several companions in Origins, Morrigan is supposed to be an exotic beauty. Even should they change her looks they need to stick to the said concept. My thought is thatt hey'll probably change her hair style and clothes but will make sure she stays striking rather than weird.
And I didn't find SA Morrigan to be horrible or anything, though I will admit to preffering her ingame version.
Flemeth is different matter, since she can switch bodies and change her shape at will. With her you can't go wrong no matter how you make her look. Morri, however, isn't fond of changing her human form so I wouldn't expect big chnages there.

I agree completely. I will admit morrigan was one of my favorite characters I also know that she will be in DA2. Since it is a timeline type of deal you will proboly meet her when she is pregnant and as you progress she will finally have the son with special powers that will help you. Before people start saying that it wouln't work becouse not everybody sleeped with her on the last night or that they had a female warden or something, That probolom will be fixed by loading in save data from DAO with we already know will be included thanks to game informer and this years E3. ( I suggest everyone go to game stop and subscribe to a year of game informer I started getting them two months ago when i bought a used game they told me about it nd i joined there members club and got 30% off games or something and blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah) lol
Also a dwarf is just a Midget quinari lol.

Problem is, "exotic beauty" is a rather vague term. I know what Morrigan looks like from Origins- they can change her clothes her hair, all that- fine. But her face should be the same.
This is my problem with the "hot rod samurai"or "amping up" the art- we should be able to clearly identify people, places and things established in Origins in DA2 based on how they look. I understand things change with time, but if you didn't tell me that Kratos Qunari was a Qunari, I would have thought BioWare made a new race. Thats not an evolutionary change- thats a retcon. Same deal with the hurlocks- they look like zombies with good dental plan. If the new Flemeth didn't have Kate Mulgrew's voice, would you know for sure that was her (ignoring the shapeshifting excuse)? If thats Ferelden in the early screens, where in Ferelden was there a barren wasteland?
The Qunari thing is ok if thats just one new type of Qunari, I guess. But when they start mucking around with specific people or specific places which were well, well established in Origins, then I'll nerdrage. Its like what Sucker Punch did when they tried to "redesign" Cole McGrath for inFamous 2- they unveiled him as having a totally new face and new look but calling him the same guyas in the first game, even though he looked nothing like him. Fans were pissed- Sucker Punch changed him back.
If they go about mucking about Morrigan or any other Orgins companions' face, that might be the last straw. Until they announce a toolset then for DA2 so the faces could be changed back- then I'd be the biggest proponent of face morphs ever!

They are starting to sound exactly like the ME2 team. (Amped up/New Direction)
The first time I hear darker second chapter I am going to flip out, and leave.
Well its clear I am not a huge fan of the DR, I seriously think Bioware is not going to do anything amazing with it. Seriously new fans are cool, but give them a freaking default story line and dont make PC choices useless (ME2).
No use getting angry, my last real hope in Bioware is TOR, but with EA running the show I am not forseeing any new IPs that are awsome.
Also if the remake Jade Empire and twist it into a bro/Jet li-athon I will lose that last bit of faith in Bioware I foolishy seem to hold.

Yeah, their marketing as of late is complete trash- I don't care if they think they're being clever or teasing the fans. Its insulting and stupid. Every time they open their collective mouth about DA2, I want to buy it less- I don't think thats the desired effect with marketing. And I hate how they keep saying how humble they are- someone mentioned this is the DA2 forums and its true: Humble people don't brag about being humble.
I really wish they'd just make a sequel in the vein of BG2- keep things mostly the same, just add MOAR while building off of the first game's story. Is that so hard?

Yeah- Gaider has said that the DR was the biggest choice of Origins. I want to see BioWare treat choices that carry over from game to game actuallymean something, unlike ME2 where you get slightly different dialogue just in a different skin (Ash/Kaiden, Wrex/Some other guy). It just seems like the BIG choices that are supposed
to carry over always get marginalized to nothing because they don't want to invest resources into making truly divergent narratives.
Meh, TOR was dead on arrival for me, and nothing I've seen since they announced it has made me think otherwise. I just don't care for MMOs and how they're ditching Revan and the Exile to skip ahead hundreds of years. No closure on Revan= no TOR, no matter how good it may or may not be.Giggles_Manically wrote...

Hmmm... a while back (maybe a year?) there were mock up screens for what people thought was a "amped up" Jade Empire 2 with guns and such.... Here is the link: It could be that whatever that was it was cancelled, as apparently from this BioWare had project called "Revolver" which was cancelled a while back...Here are the screens that were leaked:

So yeah, this "amping up" and "hot rod samurai" seems to be a disease which has firmly taken hold in BioWare....
And....new Demons Within page from Ximena!

Loving the goofy thumbs up...although if the new darkspawn in DA2 are all chalky white, would the tainted skin not be dark anymore? Bleh- another reason to loathe visual retcons...

While they had a cool run of it, there is closure they both go off and try to stop the Sith in the unknown parts of the galaxy.
I really dont care about having to keep the old PCs in KOTOR, since importing them would have been impossible and LUCAS said that Revan is male, and the exile female is canon.

It just rubs me the wrong way that KOTOR2 screwed up a good ending for Revan in KOTOR1. KOTOR2 ends on a huge cliffhanger and a single player KOTOR3 would do insanely well- but BioWare was lured into the MMO cash money. Its the notion that the fates of Revan and the Exile will likely be teased or revealed in TOR- and we as the player will have no power over that.
As for the whole canon Revan and Exile deal- yeah, thats LucasArts'little stamp on things

My interest in Revan was compeltely destroyed after I learned that the canon version had him side with those that used and manipulated him, and settle for a medal and still being called a "knight" instead of being something much much greater.
That incident made me paranoid of all canonisation attempts.

People are angry that instead of chosing to go over to the Dark Side and conquer the galaxy Revan was instead tricked by the Dark Emperor into the Dark side and sent back to grab the star forge to help the invasion.

The Jedi Civil War.
Canon Revan is a Lightsided Male, who destroyed the Star Forge, ended the Sith threat, and then went out after the true sith.
Is it just me or does Morrigan have some similarities to a Sith?
Darth Morrigan has a nice ring to it.

For those who are concerned:
Yes, on one level the qunari look different-- just as the darkspawn look different, or the elves and dwarves look different or any other model in the game will look different. The artistic style has changed, and that will affect everything you see to one degree or another. If you met Sten now he would no doubt look different.
Would he have horns? No, he would not. We are telling you that not all qunari have horns. Is that different than what you saw before? Yes it is. We never said then that qunari could have horns, but neither did we say they couldn't. In this case both appearances are possible.
If someone wishes to say that a change in the artistic style is a ret-con, then by all means do so. We aren't saying that all qunari have horns and the ones you saw were a figment of your imagination, but we certainly could have if we'd wanted to. Is that a big deal? I don't know-- was it a big deal when Klingons in Star Trek started having carapaces on their foreheads? Maybe to some, but speaking personally I always wanted qunari to look more strikingly different-- and I really like their new look.
Maybe some people thought whatever we had before was good enough, and if people mistook qunari for large humans then that was their problem? Fair enough, but this is where we wanted to go with it. Like it or not, the look of the game is changing. We look on this as a positive development.
