Two-thumbs up for LS. Was almost sad as I played through. Felt like I was seeing an old friend for the last time. GoA: I'm not getting that loving feeling and will probably pass on it as I did for DSC.

LOL. The very line most romancing Warden's are unfortunately destined to get in the unlikley event of a reunion!

Alright, I popped on to see if GoA was worth downloading. I'm getting that meh feeling. I did go ahead and dl and play Leliana's Song and have to say that I actually enjoyed it. It was good to see a familiar face, having not touched the game for about 4 months, even if I was that familiar face and not interacting with her as a GW.

I'm sure they'll have something for next month's DLC.
... haven't these things gone on monthly cycles now?

If one is not pleased with the direction of DA and is vocal about it, but continues to buy sub-par DLC (even if out of curiosity), well they are only helping to reinforce bad behavior on the part of BW.
On the other hand, if you don't buy it, they might kill the 'chise off, seeing as it doesn't bring in as much money anymore. Just sayin'.

@MKDAWUSS, yes on the monthly cycle. Some of the DLC certainly appears to be the product of about 30 days of development.
It's like a no-budget mod made by professionals!

Possible, but the flagship game and it's sequels generate the bulk of a franchise's revenue. DLC will not determine success or failure. I'd prefer they forego DLC if it's going to be weak, and just apply those resources to the main games. The DLC for Origins is designed merely to keep interest kindled imo. I doubt the revenue is substantial.

I remember there was a link to a video where Leliana calls Morrigan a B***.
Does anybody know the link to it ??
thanks

I would continue to buy Origins DLC if I thought they were adding anything meaningful to my Origins experience. But they're not. They've said that the Warden's story is about the Blight, that the Warden's story is over, which makes me think that the chances of any of these DLCs opening us up to a new and meaningful adventure is pretty low.

btw to those that finished it is there even an award for doing all the objectives, i.e. some prime loot for getting all the plans?

I only bought Leliana's Song prior to this Golem POS, since Warden's Keep came with my Digital Deluxe copy off Steam. RTO doesn't appeal to me in the slightest since I really don't care about Duncan or Cailain so that can both rot with their equipment for all I care. If I wanted Golden Chevalier armour so badly I'd make it myself.

The Stone Prisoner is technically DLC and I thought that was pretty good..bl00dsh0t wrote...
Hehe yeah GOA was crap, was expecting some interesting fights but no cigarr, just more yellows...and thats it...sure some fights are decent but the dlc's story involves me emotionally about as much as watching turtles f*ck. Well this leaves the decent dlc list (or dare i say "good"?) at wardens keep, return to ostagar and lelianas song while the rest clearly are crap...ahh well...lets hope that if we get a morrigan dlc that it is a more fulfilling experience that GOA.

Wow I should go to sleep instead of writing crap xD tl;dr this
Long story short: Shale was not dlc, it was used games combating by EA through the use of a fortunately placed problem during development. Might be they aint bs'ing us but I'm pretty damn annoyed with them at the moment so I let my rage free in form of this horribly written rant with little to no purpose. I apologize to whoever read this, im in dire need of some nicotine so good night ;D

I agree on RTO. I thought it was weak, but it was the first one out of the shoot (I don't think of Stone Prisoner or Warden's Keep as DLC being so fully integrated into the game) so I did buy it but found it sorely lacking.
Leliana's Song has been the only true DLC that had that real Origins feel to me. I didn't get that even with Awakening. It was great to again be with Leliana. I guess that's probably a reflection of how much I identify the main characters (and the Warden) with the positives of my DA experience and why I'm so damn disappointed with the direction of DA2. No Warden, no companions; no Dragon Age.

So yeah, given that it seems the new DLC was rather ho-hum story wise and even employing cheap slam slam slam combat, what are your hopes for any Morrigan DLC? Obviously, we won't be getting the luxury of a full game, but DLC specifically, what would your expectations be when you hear "Morrigan DLC" coming in September, like that rumor mentioned?
My thoughts:
- If its anything like past DLC it'll likely be either a $5 or $7 affair. Maybe, if its truly well thought out, it would be a $15 DLC like Shale.
The first big question with any Morrigan DLC would be when it takes place and if we're playing as the Warden. But the problem I keep coming back to is that even if they get Claudia Black back and all, going by the previous DLC's efforts it'll all feel really short, you know? I mean the longest DLC thus far was probably Leliana's Song, right? And that was about 2 hours, for me at least.
What could they do with MOrrigan's story in 2 hours or so and not have it come off as rushed or flimsy?
Some potential DLC ideas:
- Morrigan Backstory: maybe like Leliana's Song where you'll be playing as Morrigan in her past. This would honestly be rather disappointing to me, as I want the story to move forward.
Play as Morrigan: Maybe you end up playing as Morrigan but it takes place after Origins? In any event, I think if Claudia Black is doing any VO for the DLC it likely means it'll be a $7 DLC at least.
Warden Searching: This would be my favorite. The thing is though, I could envision a $5 DLC with the Warden searching for Morrigan only to have Morrigan never show up in the DLC. Maybe the Warden tracks her down through the Frostbacks or something only to find a note from Morrigan or something ( " The princess is in another castle!") I can totally see Gaider doing that, sadly. And the thing is there, you wouldn't have to worry about bringing in Claudia Black!
Maybe we'll see in a couple weeks if they announce any DLC for September. Considering they've been trucking along with almost monthly DLC for better or worse, I'd imagine maybe we hear something in the next couple weeks. Or at least as soon as they announce whatever that Ultimate Edition DAO is thats seemingly coming out in October. Maybe they show it off at Gamescom next week?

And I seriously second those thoughts on the DLC. I learned my lesson after buying Awakening on day of release. Until I see a familiar, friendly face or hear something earth-shatteringly epic, I've given up on all that jazz. DA:O seems to be like a novel, albeit one you thought was going to start a series with all this epic stuff left hanging (Morri's plot in particular), but then the author just kind of tra-la-las off in a different direction with subsequent short stories and books.
As for what sort of DLC we'd see her in, I'd honestly like any serious mention of her at all, not the weak stuff you get at the end of Awakening. I agree that the "princess is in another castle" idea is highly entertaining, and keeps Morrigan and her story as the unattainable prize the writers seem intent on making her.

Especially since Morri romancers have no chance what so ever of getting closure.
Also I just read a Morri fic over the weekend about how a Amell Mage, turned down the DR let Loghain die, and had Alistair and Anora on the throne. Sadly he romanced Morrigan and after Awakening he went and became a drunk so bad even Oghern wouldnt spend time with him.
Interesting take on what Morri was up to though, the author had her in Orlasis deep inside "the game" for some reason. While the mage was a bum in Val Rouyek (?).
Forgot to save it though... X(
That raises the point though, what is Morrigan doing in Orlasis without the DR having been done?

The higher price the better, as crazy as that sounds. The $5 DLCs have been wothless garbage without fail, Leliana's Song was $7 and dispite it's flaws was actually worth the money and good. Warden's Keep was also $7 and it's the only piece of DLC to follow the expectional KotN blueprint. Shale is probably $7 as well but since EA wanted to use it as a way to screw over the second hand market they jacked the price way up. If they try to wrap up a Warden Morrigan story on a $5 DLC budget . . . I shudder to think of what they would do I doubt they'd even bring in Claudia Black. Yeah it would be that bad.
That being said Awakening is $40 . . .

Well they could do that, but the point of said DLC would be what? We'd be in exactly the same situation in a slightly different location with no progress made what so ever, just kinda running in place. Come to think of it they're going to do this aren't they . . . there is no God all goodness in the world just died.

I think the ME2 Liara DLC is end of August or early September so maybe this rumoured DLC is Mid to Late September? I know I go overboard with the Bethesda references but I assume an Ultimate Edition means "No more DLC" just like when the GOTY Editions of Oblivion and Fallout 3 came out.

I'm with adneate on the "more expensive the better" point. Come on, what REAL headway can they make in the Morrigan storyline in an hour? Yes, I'll reveal my whole plot (whatever it may be), then you'll fight some nameless bandits to save me and then I'll escape again causing you even more frustration. 15 hours dedicated to Morrigan would ****** some people off of course, but an expansion in Orlais where there's stuff to do for everyone and Morrigan could be a main plot point for everyone in some way (Orelsian authorities got you and only one woman could potentially get you out of it perhaps?). That way, the OGB could get talked about in some dialouges with her but people who didn't do the ritual (Awakening wardens etc) would just be able to talk to her about getting them the hell out of the situation. That could work, right?

Understood. Everyone's all pins and needles now.

If we don't get an expansion, if we "just" get a DLC, then I'd assume the story would be pretty simple with not a lot of conflict. I could tell you what my expectations would be, but they'd be pretty low. What I'd personally like is a story where the OBG turns out to be kind-of-a-big deal, for better or worse, but I don't think a DLC would be epic enough to cover that story (an expansion would be, though).
Play as Morrigan: Maybe you end up playing as Morrigan but it takes place after Origins? In any event, I think if Claudia Black is doing any VO for the DLC it likely means it'll be a $7 DLC at least.
This might give some closure to Morrigan's story, but would it give any more closure to the Warden?

And a story like this could potentially bring closure to the Warden's story, but not Morrigan's. Which is more important?
