What i wanted to say is that i got the impression what he is wearing could be something like the improved male edition of the Sacres Ashes robe. So maybe thats just the kind of cloth the followers of Flemeth wear, and all thos girls in the background are no Morrigan clones or sisters but simply some mages who are followers as well and therefore happen to wear the same cloth (female edition).
I just still have a hard time picturing a Morrigan army or Morrigan's sister army, that would just be... stupid and lame, don't you think?

On the whole "Morrigan army issue". If you take a look at Hawke in the trailer, he is not exactly wearing real armor. His clothes are rags, the armor just covering one arm. There is fur attached to his coat on the back.

It would make the HK-50 ripoffs in KOTOR look like pure genius.
And it would provide another dynamic to the whole potential Chantry Schism. If Morrigan's any indication, Flemeth isn't exactly pro-Chantry.

Soooooo......
After watching the trailer, and reading the interview a lot of my concerns melted off very quickly.
Hearing that PC is only getting tweaked is good, and the trailer at least wasent Manson.

Rule number one Aphetto, you wanna make something great: either get inspired by or just plain rip off star wars, it's guaranteed to succeed.Aphetto_LC wrote...
In all likelyhood, the "Morrigan Army" is probably just a result of lazy production. Otherwise, it is just plain dumb writing to have "clones" of Morrigan, especially since the idea of an army of clones is stolen from the pages of Star Wars.

The similarities are just too great, and I don't buy into the idea of a professional, big-budget, CGI short reusing Morrigan's model as a placeholder. It seems very deliberate to me.
Personally, I'm intrigued.

As far as the Morrigan Clone Army idea- I don't know. I'm not too keen on it as it seems stupid, quite frankly. Could Blur have been lazy and just used Morrigan as a placeholder for a split second shot? Hmmmm.... I don't know. I doubt they'd just use Morrigan of all people as a placeholder- they surely copied some of the Morriclones within the little army, but to just use Morrigan arbitrarily like that? I don't know....
Its piqued my interest in the story side of DA2 at least. Now hopefully the PC gameplay shapes up ok. And who knows, maybe we'll get some news about any possible September Morrigan DLC soon? You figure that Xbox usually announces new DLC for the coming month in the first week of the month, so if anything is coming in September, it'll be announced in the next couple weeks I think...

As for Blur getting lazy and using placeholders, I HIGHLY doubt it. Do we have a Morrigan clone army on our hands in that case? My head says no and my heart says **** no. I'm not worried about the story, it's the lack of the Warden, ME influence (as much as the IGN guy says that we shouldn't worry about it, the full VO and wheel completely cancel out anything he says. That's going through the ME meat grinder already if you ask me) and total 180 on the spiritual successor to BG thing in favor of something faster that turned me off of buying it. Ya, I stand by that choice, I'll rent it for sure and maybe even buy it when it's cheaper but the whole bro-ification of this awesome franchise totally took me for a ride when DA2 was first anounced.
But I'm getting way off topic. I'd say that an army of Morrigan's sisters is way more likely. Who knows? Maybe Flemeth could shape shift into Morri and split a thousand times? Ya, that's just dumb forget I said that.

1. Create Morri-Clone army
2. Set it loose upon a Templar army
3. ??????
4. Flemeth crowned Emperor of Thedas
The devious perfection of such a taught and well executed plan.

I'm pretty sure Blur got a little lazy. XD They reused their deep roads model for that sequence Hawke opens the door. Haha. It's the same model from The Calling. (There's actually an image in deviantART of that model and it got a daily dev. Just can't find it. >.< )
I can't resisting chuckling over the Morriclone army image. xD For some reason. Maybe Flemeth is starting a new fashion trend? Hahaha. *is tempted to draw Morriclone army art*

I remember seeing that image of the darkspawn from the Calling trailer on deviantart. But yeah, when Hawke opens the doors in the trailer its pretty clearly the Deep Roads from the Calling trailer- just emptied out.

But even if Blur got lazy, why pick Morrigan of all people to clone all over? They even have several of the Morriclones in the same pose:

I don't know what the heck BioWare is thinking these days. I'm thinking probably that Morriclone Army is actually just one of Flemeth's army full of different Witches of the Wilds, like she supposedly raised in Cormac's time, perhaps? Or maybe she clones Morrigan in giant vats under her hut, who knows?

Well, Zevran did ask Morrigan if she'd ever met any of her sisters... or something like that.

Yeah, the notion that there may be other Witches of the Wilds out there was mentioned by Zevran- Here is the conversation. Hmmm.. is this some serious foreshadowing?
- Zevran: So if the legend of your mother is true, Morrigan, does that mean that the legends of her many daughters are as well?
- Morrigan: To be honest, I have no idea. I've never met any sister of mine, nor has my mother spoken of any.
- Zevran: But it could be true, yes? If you exist, there could have been others like you.
- Morrigan: Long ago, perhaps. Why?
- Zevran: We have legends of witches in Antiva. one that tells of a Witch of the Wild, traveled far from her home to settle in the Tellari Swamps.
- Morrigan: And? You thought I might know this woman?
- Zevran: If one legend can be true, why not another? Who knows how many Morrigans are scattered about Thedas, hmm?
- Morrigan: It's not something I'd like to contemplate.
- Zevran: Oh? You do not appreciate a little competition from a half-sister or two?
- Morrigan: Silence, elf. It is none of your concern.
As for who the MorriClones were fighting- I'm pretty damn sure they are Templars. If you look here, you can see the sword symbol on the shield which is pretty Templar-ish and they've seemingly got the Templar robes going on too:

And random Morrigan factoid of the day: Who needs any closure with Morrigan and the Warden? Bah! How is this for cross-marketing brilliance from EA? Morrigan will appear in MySims SkyHeroes! What the hell is the world coming to?
