Very nicely done Addai! The whole chat in the Fade was very neat- it would have been cool to have that sort of thing play out in the actual game.
A couple of more recent Gaider quotes pertaining to Morrigan in the future:
From
this thread:
David Gaider wrote...
Collider wrote...
It's strange for people to complain of the Warden's story not importing (nevermind the fact that it can be imported). Dragon Age: Origins, if I recall, prior to it's release had never been said to be a game that one could import into other games.
It's not that strange. Origins more or less ends with the main character doing the proverbial walk into the sunset (if they didn't die outright) and a promise that they go on to "other adventures". For some people, they took that as "my character will appear in the sequels"-- whether that's a justifiable expectation or not.
For others, the Morrigan romancers in particular, they feel they didn't have enough closure. Rationally or not, many of them seem to expect that this meant their Warden should carry into the sequel because they still have business to finish with her.
I don't mind that. "Always leave them wanting more" is not a bad way to go. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/wink.png[/smilie]
And who's to say they won't get some of those things? Just not in DA2. Like you said, however, the decisions you make in DAO can still have an effect if you import them into DA2. But people will want what they want regardless.
And this one from
this thread, which may be relevant if we fear Morrigan looking all different if she shows up in DA2:
Dave of Canada wrote...
Although logic dictates that they'll follow the new art, I'm just fearful we won't recognize the characters.
We couldn't make them look exactly like they did in DAO or Awakening... that would look strange, next to the existing characters. And probably not in a good way.
Some will simply look outright different or will have enough recognizeable features that you can at least tell who they are-- like someone else said, as if the same character had been portrayed by a different artist.Sten wouldn't have horns, however, if that's what you're asking. But he would otherwise look as the qunari do now.

Thats worrisome to me, the vanilla Morrigan lover that I am...
And then we had the
live chat with Laidlaw and Fernando at Gamescom. They actually answered a couple of my questions and had some interesting responses to a few others. I'll post some of the interesting ones:

[Comment From David David: ] Fernando, will there be any more dlc for origins when DA2 comes out ? Fernando@BIoWare: Funny you should mention this... yes, we're not done with Origins yet

More details very soon.

Fernando@BIoWare:
[Pedro Costa] - Hi there Fernando, I guess my first question is how
important will our decisions[...] in Origins affect the world in DA2?
Will they be nothing more than messages and small bones akin to ME2?
Depends on the decision and its relevance to DA2 - some choices in Origins (or Awakening) are more integral to what is happening in DA2, others are mere rumours of things that may be happening far away in ferelden - and are reflected in that way
[Comment From Brockololly]
So are the rumors of a Morrigan DLC in September true? Will the Warden ever get a chance to deal with the consequences of the Dark Ritual? Fernando@BIoWare:
@Brockololly:
Rumours are rumours of course. But Morrigan is obviously an important character in the DA world, and i'm sure it is not the last we've seen of her.

Mike Laidlaw: @Juan:
We've enhanced our graphics engine to support a bunch of new technical features such as self shadowing, enhanced terrain generation and smoother lip synch and more face customization. It's not a complete overhaul, but the end result looks better and runs smoother.
Will Hawke now be the main protaganist throughout the series like Shepherd?
---------------------------------------------
Nope!
While hawke may have a continuing role in the series, I have always viewed Dragon Age as a series of games about the world, rather than about individual characters. Not to say Hawke isn't important, he is, but the world is really our focus.
Fernando@BIoWare: [JuanDiez] - Good to hear the DA 2 engine is improving. Probably is a bit
early to ask but wi[...]ll the PC System Requirements grow much compared to DAO? Some we would like to have a hint if we would need to save for a new PC or a PC upgrade to be ready to play in March :-)
We're looking at supporting higher end cards/dx11, but low end should hopefully be similar - so in short, if you can play DAO you should be able to play DA2. But until all optimizations are in its hard to confirm - that's the intent though
Whats the deal with Flemeth?
--------------------------------------------
She's....important. And always more than she seems.
So yeah..... Gaider once again hinting maybe Morrigan romancers get some closure, another "Morrigan is important and we haven't see the last of her" from Melo, the possibility of a DLC announcment very soon, and the prospect of Morrigan looking completely different in DA2.
I'm really curious to see how the old charcters like Morrigan would look in DA2- to have them changed up drastically like Gaider hinted seems to miss the point of them even returning in part.
As far as the DLC goes, my guess is that either something gets announced maybe at Gamescom today or tomorrow or possibly when DA2 goes to PAX in Seattle Spetember 3-5th. Hopefully its the Morrigan one....
And its interesting to hear that they're thinking about DX11 support for DA2- whether thats any sort of meaningful DX11 features or not is another matter I suppose....
