Tragedy especially in a video game is a tricky proposition too. Especially in something like DA where its all about player choice- more often than not, tragedy necessitates having some outside force (Plot Hammer) take away any choice.... like the Dark Ritual...

Blah who wants tragic endings.
I want to ride off into the sunset with my LI of choice, on an amazing horse.
Tragedy while sometimes awsome, and deep gets SO overdone.
Hopefully the Morri mance ends happily and not with some emo thing like the Warden dies in Morrigan's arms before she gets to really say "I love you" after they meet.

But that's very realistic. I know some people play to escape reality, but I play for different reasons. Sometimes, things should be out of our control. I don't want to feel like a god.
@ Giggles. Just reminded me of Starcraft 2's ending. Gaaah I hated it!!
Unbelievably cliche. It's just cheapening and all the badassness that eminated from Kerrigan from SC1 vanished faster than zerglings facing Colossi on steroids.
Morrigan romance DLC!? Satisfying closure at last!? Or just a giant boulder?<_<Are there any plans for more DLC for Origins before Dragon Age 2?
Yes, we’re not finished with Dragon Age:Origins, there is more content coming, we’re going to have some more details very soon, actually. And then we’ll talk more about it when we get there
Will it bridge Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2?'
Not so much a bridging, I think it’s going to be more of an opportunity for people to close off some points that were left open in Origins, it will be an opportunity for them to kind of go back and revisit some places and find some characters they might want to have a final encounter with. We’re going to talk a bit more about it when we actually announce it, but I think people are going to be happy with this.
I have lots of questions from the community about returning characters, especially Morrigan.
For now we can officially confirm only Flemeth. You will meet other characters. The interesting part is that it’s not your Warden character that will meet them. If you played Origins, you are going to have a unique perspective on the characters you are going to see again, but the fun is going to be in how your character, Hawke, interacts with them. And the choices and changes you’re making in the world will have an impact. But we’ll leave it for the players to see. Maybe we’ll talk more about it closer to launch.
MorriClone Army confirmed? In the trailer Hawke is using the weapon as a warrior and also seems to be using blood magic, does that mean we'll see some sort of fusion of classes?
Very much like in Origins, you can customize Hawke as much as you want. You had a look at how the new ability tree looks. You can either go very broad, like in Origins, or customize the abilities, so it’s a deeper system than in Origins. And a lot of that will influence what Hawke can do. What I can say about the trailer is that a lot of it is,
of course, symbolic, showing what you can generally expect in the game. There’s a lot of hidden things in there, and a lot of surprise. Much like with Varick’s stories, there’s an element of truth in what’s in there, and it will be up to players to discover.
Why did you choose to introduce a new protagonist in Dragon Age 2 instead of continuing the story of the Warden?
We’ve always perceived Dragon Age as essentially the story of the world rather than any individual character. The characters that you play are always going to be characters that have an impact on the world, but to me there is much more potential than just a single character. And to be frank, quite a number of people have a Grey Warden that’s dead, so that makes it a little complicated to continue the story. We could have done that, we actually had ways of bringing the character back, and so on, and so forth. But we decided it would be better to keep the focus on the environment, on the world, on the nations. And certainly to honor and reference the stuff that you did in Origins, but to tell that new chapter.
No Flemeth romance... shucks:sick:We actually have a question here from one user about the possibility of Flemeth romance.
[Laughs] Well, I’d say that this would probably be an unlikely option.

To me, thats precisely one reason amongst many why I'm not caring much for DA2- meeting old companions or old friends of teh Warden as Hawke, who is some stranger to them. I don't see it as that interesting but rather a fantastic immersion breaker. Meh.

Seems to confirm the rumours about a Morrigan DLC coming out in September. As for the satisfying ending, that would depend on what each of us considers to be a satifying ending to the relationship between Warden and Morrigan.
Landlaw said that he expects Morrigan fans will be happy with what's in store for her so I take it Morri won't come to a bad end.
As for a possibility of a happy ending, that might be possible but I won't hold my breath until I see what they have in store for us.
Master Shiori wrote...
Actually, I find that quite interesting. Imagine your old companions recounting Warden's adventures and achievements to Hawke and maybe having that influence his/her actions and goals. I rather like the idea that my Warden might have been an influence that shaped Hawke into what he/she ultimately bacame.
Master Shiori wrote...
I can understand the appeal of stories where you always play a different protagonist. However, they should really avoid leaving loose ends like Morrigan and DR if that's the road they plan to take.
Personally, I know I'll grow attached to Hawke just as I did to the Warden, so letting him go will be just as hard. I love to have a series of adventures with the same character and watch him/her grow and evolve over the course of it.
Addai67 wrote...
Morrigan fans may be interested in seeing a mod recreation of the Revelation comic. I made a video of it here. It's probably not the most relevant to your games since it looks at the DR from the perspective of a femPC in love with Alistair, and the recycled dialogue is a bit rough, but I found the Morrigan parts quite moving.

Kinda makes you wonder (or at least makes me wonder) what the point of buying a sequel would be. If it's going to be have different characters and different combat/development system why not buy a different game and get the bonus of exploring an entirely new world?

Damn, and i so much promised myself to never get excited about the DA franchise ever again. Hopefully thats no bogus and they talk aout something/someone very different.
If they keep their promise and all this dlc will be around Morrigan and will deliver wahat Melo said, i will happily call Origins done, apologize for all my rants and gladly move on to DA 2.
I so much promised myself i wouldn't, but now i am anxiously awaiting further news like a school boy again. Hopefully, this time without just gettin punished by the BW release truth
And hopefully, very soon is very soon and not in a month
