I'd say get Morrigan first so you can close the book with DA:O. Liara will fight to be with you and she'll still be there when you get the money for her DLC and you'll go on to see her again in ME3. This way you can end DAO on a high note with your fellow Morrigan posters and be a part of the "good run, see you in DA2" curtain call. =p

I am wondering whether there will be any new music in the DLC or how much Morrigan will actually be in it? Will she simply show up at the end for one conversation and you spend most of the time tracking her down? Or does she join you as a companion for any period of time?

Come on- I want to do a teamwork Morri/Cousland Cone of Cold+ Overpower shatter one last time!

Has anyone from Bioware commented on the length of the DLC? I am thinking it will be the typical 1.5 - 2 hours.

Morrigan DLC, huh? Interesting. I have to wonder if this will be a legit answer to all our questions or a shut up, now you can love Hawke like we do moment.

Ah well, I'll remain optimistic until proven otherwise for this DLC. It is sad that it's probably the Warden's last hurrah, but better than nothing. Question though because I haven't been keeping track of BW announcements of late, I thought they said they had two-years of post-release content to rely on, but they are saying this is the last Origins?

At least from the screenshots it looks like the Wardens a mage, good call Bioware I do approve. ;)

LOL I fell out of my chair when I first saw the announcement. But the thread gave me some doubts of course, thanks a million guys haha. As long as it's not just a dungeon grind with one conversation at the end, the Warden doesn't die at her hands, and she doesn't just pull a Batman and disappear before the Warden is done asking questions, I'll be happy. And of course answering SOME questions would be nice. Anything on the OGB would make me a happy panda.

It kinda sucks they aren't bringing anyone back, sure there's all the trouble of hiring and recording lines, but don't tell me you wouldn't have liked to take anyone from the original party and seen what they had to say when the Warden and Morri were reunited. And no, Dog doesn't count, unless Morrigan remarks how you brought your filthy mutt with you XD

Regardless of how the DLC turns out, if Bio thinks that I'll accept DA2 with open arms afterwards, they have another thing coming. Resolving this plot thread is much appreciated, but I'm not going to jump at the sequal just because my Warden cleared some things up.

Ha- no, I think the mage in the screen isn't the Warden, just a new companion.

And yeah, Priestly mentioned and it was linked a couple pages back that this is the last DLC for Origins. So this is it for the Warden it would seem. Yeah, I kind of guessed they wouldn't follow through on the 2 years of DLC deal and I guess this all but confirms the 2/1/2011 date is the anime... meh.

At this point, I'm just happpy we'll get some closure. Yet, I'm putting the cup on as I'm thinking we're just going to get a swift kick in the balls courtesy of Gaider and Chee.

Lies, it's the Warden. Morrigan and Circle Mages just click! Silly sword-type-peoples.

I think Morrigan will probably cover all the bases at the end so everyone can be happy. A 'good' ending, a 'good' parting of ways, and a 'Screw you, you're dead'.

Yeah... if Morrigan just disappears AGAIN, or the Warden is killed off, ugh...not thanks.

Oh, if Dog returns I hope Morrigan chats him up. Morrigan secretly loves the Mabari :wizard:

Agreed- If this can provide some meaningful and satisfying closure, I'll be more willing to give DA2 a chance. But I'm definitely not going to rush out and get it. The primary reason I've kept DA on my radar this long is hoping for some resolution to the Morrigan romance....I'm just worried the writers are going to find a way to pull the rug out from underneath us with this DLC....

Which is proof that DA2 was not in Bioware's plan and came abruptly by someone else (EA). And then they try to convince us that it won't be rushed, despite being released only a year and a half after Origins.

Anyways, the Morrigan DLC is confirmed? Is it posted in the main site?
This might be the very first DLC I buy ever.

Yeah, it has it's own page and everything. Seems our theory of being tied into the elder elves magic might actually hold a kernel of truth. I just hope the Dalish NPC isn't a jagoff like every Dalish in Origins.

Its amazing really. The DLC was leaked almost a month in advance by someone chatting with a person who works at the company that makes the letter openers for Origins....HA! I guess this means we can expect another letter opener of Leliana's Bow and Morrigan's staff then- hahaha:wizard:

Yeah... and given the news earlier that DA2  will only be about 20-30 hours long.... yeah, I'm happy we're getting this DLC .

Here is the page KoP: http://dragonage.bio...dao/witch_hunt/

And yeah, the Elven lore and Arlathan definitely tie in to all this...

Only a year after seperation? Meeh. This DLC can be what all of us are waiting for, or can turn out to be a disaster. It will make or break the entire thing. If it breaks it, I am positive that I will be un-enthusiastic about DA2.

I sooo hope you're right.

Letting us decide what kind of ending we want with Morrigan would be great. I doubt, however, that they'll let her be killed.

EDIT:

Just bought my Bioware points.

I'm all set up for September 7th. B)

Wait, that actually took people by surprise? They told us when Origins was coming out that if they had a voice-acted main character they would only have been able to fit in half the game they were shipping, thus the reason they didn't think it was a good idea to do. It was one of the big sticking points people had about the announcement of voiced Hawke, sometimes more can work out to be less.

Anyways, more Morrigan does make me happy, don't get me wrong. It's obviously a move to placate a very vocal, upset portion of the fanbase with a million questions in hand, so I doubt they'd 'kick us in the nuts again' as you said just to watch the fanbase riot.

They would just pull another Flemeth.  Heck, they retcon'd the Origins ending by having Morrigan in the Kokari Wilds.

Now i understand why DA2 starting while the battle at ostagar is going on....

heck they do not need any DLC to link the two games together

now things start to fall into place... i mean all we know so far of DA2

but there was supposed to be 2 years of DLC..

the EA smoke screen starts to clear up lol

Well this is interesting ;D At least its a 540 point dlc and not a 400 one, that would have set off alarmbells of epic proportions ^^

Well all good things come to an end, and i guess a week or two after this dlc's release this group is no more :( Unless of course we go into a fanfiction and fanart rage, or we get to curse the writing team for a few weeks longer :D

WOT when did they say DA2 was only 20-30 hours???

so it's about 2 hours playtime for every year minus cut scenes?

Well the DLC's page did mention revenge so if anything, the Warden can stop whatever it is Morrigan is trying to do in the DLC. I thought you could kill her at first, but Laidlaw's interview at Gamescon talking about how DA2 would set up something to do with Morrigan makes me think otherwise. What's funny is that I'm less interested in how my canonical Cousland's meeting with her (less interested in this case still means immensely mind you) will go than how her meeting with my second Mage Warden will go. He romanced her all the way through, but refused the DR.... and then died. Ya, that's not going to make a lot of sense, but I hope that as some of us mentioned before, it's not a cookie cutter ending and the outcomes can actually be different in a meaningful way. How Wardens can continue their relationship (if it's possible) is what interests me. I mean hoping off into the sunset and raising the OGB together seems highly unlikely, but my version of a happy ending and somebody elses could be very different....
