Does anyone know if the Awakening Epilogue slide problem has been fixed? I just bought it and I was now thinking whether I have to redo my Origins story again just to get the dang Morrigan Slide.

On a topic note, I'm extremely hyped for Witch Hunter but cautious as well, it could end up terrible if done wrongly or brilliant if done right. I found Morrigan one of the best characters in the game and have been eagerly waiting for her and my warden's romance to gain closure since I first completed Origins. Stuff like Leilana's song and GOA is great and all but this will be the DLC of all DLCs, or at least that's what it should be.

I'm counting on you with this one Bioware.

I sometimes have to wonder if the PC/NPC outcomes sometimes tend to bite BW in the ass - if they can be killed, it seems to be an "exit stage left" for them regardless, and it leads to a revolving door of bodies.

I agree. This will be especially so, in ME3, I'd guess. Obviously you may have some new squadmates, but to just ditch the majority of ME2 squadmates or write them of as cameos simply because they were all kill-able is incredibly stupid and basically makes it seem like saving them was pointless.

If you're going to give the option to kill companions off, there should be huge diverging consequences for that- and if that means the people that killed them miss out on a ton of content, that was their choice. Which is why I would have loved to see DA2 as a direct sequel with the Warden- certainly would have made the US choice even more poignant.

It hasn't, at least officially by BoWare in any patches. And the issue now is we don't know what flags Witch Hunt might need to properly read the Morrigan romance.I've PM'd Melo on the issue but haven't heard back from him about the flags.

I pray that Bioware upgrades the toolset for DA2.

Can you imagine having to live with all the bugs without having the tools to fix them? And you can't even relly on Bioware to release a proper patch.

Latest patch for Origins and Awakening failed to fix Sigrun's quest once again and now we hear that all those lovely bugs in Silverite Mines cannot be fixed...

Oh, and they didn't bother to fix the loot not dropping from that High Dragon in Drake's Fall either.

I hope they get their act together for DA2. Otherwise we're in for a bug ridden nightmare.

Couple of other Morrigan related points I've thought about as I've been replaying Origins:

- Not only is Morrigan an awesome character, but she is a badass mage! Seriously, IMO, she has to be one of the    most versatile and useful characters in the game if you spec her properly. Thats one reason I was hoping she'd come back as a companion in Awakening or something, as she is a beast in my current game.

- And considering BioWare is touting Witch Hunt as answering your Morrigan questions and secrets, what secrets and questions do you want or expect answered in the DLC?

Here is my list of unresolved Morrigan (and some Flemeth) questions:
 • What is the significance, if any, of the Robes of Possession? Will having given those to Morrigan make any difference?
 • Was Flemeth's "plan" of stealing Morrigan's body the truth? Or was Morrrigan simply lying or stretching the truth to get us to kill Flemeth?
 • Flemeth's Grimoire- it has that peculiar leafless tree on the cover- whats the significance of that? Is it possibly Elven related or relating to the darkspawn as the leafless tree is seen in the opening cutscene of Origins?
 • What other secrets did Morrigan find in Flemeth's grimoires?
 • What is the deal with Morrigan's eyes?
 • Will we learn any more about Morrigan's parentage?
 • Will the ring play any role in the DLC or just ignored, especially if you romanced her?
 • Why is Morrigan returning to Ferelden anyway?
 • What was Morrigan's initial trek towards Orlais all about? Or was that simply rumor?
 • Why did she feel compelled to go through with the Dark Ritual?
 • Is Morrigan in cahoots with Flemeth somehow, or is she simply using the DR as her own personal plan?
 • Is she part of some Dragon Cult?
 • What is the deal with the Old God Baby?
 • Why Morrigan (and Flemeth's) fascination with the Old Gods, and preserving ancient magic in general?
 • Why did Morrigan feel compelled to leave right after the battle? Why the sense of urgency?
 • Was the dog at the coronation scene really Morrigan?
 • Why couldn't the Warden tag along with Morrigan for protection after the DR?
 • Any other news about Flemeth regaining her body or what Flemeth is up to if you didn't kill her?
I'm not expecting answers to many of those questions, but really, if this DLC is going to be satisfying they've at least got to pretty clearly explain away the Dark Ritual and the Old God Baby. If they simply dance around that and don't provide a decent amount of romance specific dialogue from Morrigan, this DLC will really disappoint.

Given all the possible "versions" of Morrigan possible here, I'm just worried we'll end up with another Dark Ritual scenario where we're mostly getting a one sized fits all Morrigan that seems grossly out of character if you romanced her....

Guess you have a PC. Try the Morrigan Restoration Patch. At least I got the slide in Awakeing. I would love a chance to comment in game how I looked for her around when I could have stayed waiting at home.

If you're on PC, I highly recommend Terra_Ex's Morrigan dialogue restoration mod. It fixes the flags such that you'll get the proper epilogue in Awakening  but it also restores a good deal of cut dialogue and a couple scenes that were cut for some reason. You'll benefit most if you use it with a fresh Origins playthrough, but its a great mod that fixes a ton of bugs in Morrigan's dialogue- stuff you may not have even realized was bugged.

If you just want to set Morrigan's romance flag to active in the post epilogue save, you could use the console or try this mod that Zjarcal mentioned on the last page and use the item love potion no. 9 to set Morrigan's romance active.

Thank you both for your response, I'll download the restoration mod and start an new Origin carrying it on to Awakening. I'm lucky to own DA on both PC and PS3, since I have the advantage of the great modding community .

Indeed.

People often say how great Wynne is due to being a spirit healer, but by the time you get her she is heavily specced into creation tree.
Morrigan is almost a blank slate which you can tailor to your liking. She is always in my group and is the second highest damage dealer, healer and debuffer all in one. Can't imagine playing Origins without her.
Brockololly wrote...

What is the significance, if any, of the Robes of Possession? Will having given those to Morrigan make any difference?
I doubt there's going to be any significance. Those robes are awesome for Morrigan and most people have her wearing them (I do). I doubt Bioware will let an item influence the character and her development.
Brockololly wrote...

Was Flemeth's "plan" of stealing Morrigan's body the truth? Or was Morrrigan simply lying or stretching the truth to get us to kill Flemeth?
My take is that Morrigan wanted Flemeth dead not to protect herself but rather to protect the OGB. She may not have agreed with Flemeth's plan for the OGB and wanted to take it away. This involved getting rid of Flemeth or at least buying time by destroying her body.
Brockololly wrote...

Flemeth's Grimoire- it has that peculiar leafless tree on the cover- whats the significance of that? Is it possibly Elven related or relating to the darkspawn as the leafless tree is seen in the opening cutscene of Origins?
Seems to be related to the leafless tree in the DA:O intro. What it means exactly is anyone's guess by thid point. Hopefully we'll get some asnwers in Witch Hunt or, at least, in Dragon Age 2.
Brockololly wrote...

What is the deal with Morrigan's eyes?
I'd say the result of drinking dragon blood. Could be some other explanation as well.
Brockololly wrote...

Will we learn any more about Morrigan's parentage?
I doubt it. Morrigan herself doesn't really care about her real parents so it's unlikely she'd be interested in finding out about them.
Brockololly wrote...

Will the ring play any role in the DLC or just ignored, especially if you romanced her?
It will likely be mentioned if the Warden romanced Morrigan. Not sure how big a role it needs to play since you'll know where Morrigan is at the start of the DLC.
Brockololly wrote...

Why is Morrigan returning to Ferelden anyway?
Because Bioware loves recycling locales for all their DLC?

Honestly, she is likely looking for something. Maybe some ancient eleven magic or something related to Flemeth?
Brockololly wrote...

What was Morrigan's initial trek towards Orlais all about? Or was that simply rumor?
She needed to get away from the Warden and his companions. Most likely she left the OGB there to be safe before coming back to Ferelden for Witch Hunt. Maybe we'll hear her reasons for going there in the DLC.
Brockololly wrote...

Why did she feel compelled to go through with the Dark Ritual?
Because DR isn't something that Flemeth forced her to do. It's something Morrigan herself obviously considers to be important.
However, I doubt she did it for the same reason Flemeth wanted it. I have a feeling that is an ideological conflict between Flemeth and Morrigan and that Origins presented Morri with a perfect opportunity to break free and forge her own path.
Brockololly wrote...

Is Morrigan in cahoots with Flemeth somehow, or is she simply using the DR as her own personal plan?
I think it's the later.
Brockololly wrote...

Is she part of some Dragon Cult?
Could be.
Brockololly wrote...

What is the deal with the Old God Baby?
It's the simbol of everything the Chantry is trying to destroy. It is also, for all intents and purposes, a living god thatcan be turned to once the Chantry is gone. What exactly does the OGB represent for Flemeth and what for Morrigan? That is the question we should ask ourselves.
Brockololly wrote...

Why Morrigan (and Flemeth's) fascination with the Old Gods, and preserving ancient magic in general?
Because the magic in times of Tevinter Imperium and Arlathan was a lot more powerful then it is today. Now you have Chantry controlling mages and destroying knowledge it deems too dangerous, where before mages had almost godlike powers.
Brockololly wrote...

Why did Morrigan feel compelled to leave right after the battle? Why the sense of urgency?
Good question and the one we need to get the answer to in Witch Hunt.
Brockololly wrote...

Was the dog at the coronation scene really Morrigan?
I think so. Despite her attitude Morrigan may easily consider the DA:O party as something akin to family. She spent a great deal of time with them and had to relly on their skills for her own survival. That creates a bond between people, even if they don't really like each other. She probably wanted to see them all one final time before going her own way.
Brockololly wrote...

Why couldn't the Warden tag along with Morrigan for protection after the DR?
No idea. Most likely it'll be explained in Witch Hunt.
Brockololly wrote...

Any other news about Flemeth regaining her body or what Flemeth is up to if you didn't kill her?
No idea about the body part but the second question is obvious: Dragon Age 2 and Hawke.
Brockololly wrote...

Most of the conversation will be generic, simply because it's an DLC and you don't have time, space or resources to branch out different dialogue paths. I would, however, expect each dialogue to have about 3 answers for the Warden: hostile, neutral and friendly (friendly being replaced by romantic for those who romanced her or did the DR). This way you can decide what yuur reaction to Morrigan will be.

What is the significance, if any, of the Robes of Possession? Will having given those to Morrigan make any difference?
Seeing as it's possible not to pick up the robes, it highly possible to be a either a foreshadowing or simply a nice equipment upgrade, I wouldn't look too deeply into it.
Brockololly wrote...

Was Flemeth's "plan" of stealing Morrigan's body the truth? Or was Morrrigan simply lying or stretching the truth to get us to kill Flemeth?
I think it's a mix of both Flemeth getting in the way of Morrigan's plan for the OGB (whatever those plans may be) and to get the original Grimoire, it may also be out of fear of Flemeth taking her body but I think that's a very minor part of it.
Brockololly wrote...

Flemeth's Grimoire- it has that peculiar leafless tree on the cover- whats the significance of that? Is it possibly Elven related or relating to the darkspawn as the leafless tree is seen in the opening cutscene of Origins?
The poster above has already mentioned it's to do with the leafless tree in the into, my take is that it's something to do with the fade or ancient magic, the tree seems to symbolize lifelessness or taking energy from a lifeform.
Brockololly wrote...

What is the deal with Morrigan's eyes?
Again, like the poster above said, something to do with the Dragon Cult (or a faction of it), perhaps from drinking dragon blood.
Brockololly wrote...

Will we learn any more about Morrigan's parentage?
It seems to me that Morrigan is the result of Flemeth seducing some poor Chasid to give her another daughter.
Brockololly wrote...

Will the ring play any role in the DLC or just ignored, especially if you romanced her?
I assume romancing her will have a large impact in dialogue choices, how large I cannot say till the dlc is out.
Brockololly wrote...

Why is Morrigan returning to Ferelden anyway?
It seems that her plan involves gathering something from Fereldan. Her departure to Orlais seemed only to serve a quick escape to safety for a while, till her plan was ready to start.
Brockololly wrote...

What was Morrigan's initial trek towards Orlais all about? Or was that simply rumor?
I think I already answered that above.
Brockololly wrote...

Why did she feel compelled to go through with the Dark Ritual?
Well from what I can see, it's a mix of things. Firstly and most likely, she wants power or control over the old god, why? Well I don't know, it's anyone's guess. Another thing is that she could be trying to thwart Flemeth's plan (whatever that might have been), maybe even protect the warden...
Brockololly wrote...

Is Morrigan in cahoots with Flemeth somehow, or is she simply using the DR as her own personal plan?
Personal Plan.
Brockololly wrote...

Is she part of some Dragon Cult?
I think Flemeth is and Morrigan was trained in the ways of the cult.
Brockololly wrote...

What is the deal with the Old God Baby?
I think the other poster explained it far better than I can. It's a way to break free from Chanty suppression bring back that ancient magic and lore that many apostate feel its rightly theirs. It also is a way to get a huge amount of power.

To get to safety and away from the Warden.
Brockololly wrote...

Was the dog at the coronation scene really Morrigan?
I would like to think so...
Brockololly wrote...

Why couldn't the Warden tag along with Morrigan for protection after the DR?
Because, it's likely that the plan is something the Warden would outright disagree with/serve him no purpose and possibly put him in needless danger.
Brockololly wrote...

Any other news about Flemeth regaining her body or what Flemeth is up to if you didn't kill her?
Well even if you do kill her she's in DA2 so it's anyone's guess.

Been playing through Origins again and I can safely say I am waaaaaaay more excited for Witch Hunt than DA2. Its a shame its just a $7 DLC though.

DA2's dead to me at the moment. It'll be a guilty, on the cheap pleasure when it hits a bargain bin or one of my friends gives it to me when they are done with it. I'm not going to fight with people over it, picket, or put up with troll's over it, but it's been so underwhelming so far I want no part of it for 50-60 bucks.

Witch Hunt yeah obviously has me excited. Of course I wanted more Warden, and more Warden and Morrigan is something just about everyone in this thread wants, but at the very least I'm looking at it as something that can affect 50-60 hours of replay time. If they get the ending right, if this cap's it off correctly, then I can go back and play Origins and know that they are just going to screw with me before Denerim before things right out later on. The ending is what makes or breaks any story.

Agree.

we don't know how much of Flemeth we will see in DA2...she is in the beginning and seems to speak about Hawke's journey but as appearence who knows ?

This last DLC will give us answers about Morrigan but i got a feeling we will also get more questions for the future

So how is Morrigan ending bugged ? i am concerned now since i am almost at the end with one walkthrough with Morrigan(even if i don't have the ring)

also...if u play a human noble origins who romances Morrigan and then marries ANora...how will this affect the DLC ?:D

I won't bore you wit details, but this is how things stand:

At the beginning of the final battle, all your companions will give you a farewell speech, before you leave to kill the Archdemon.
After this you should never talk to Morrigan again. Doing so will cause her approval to drop from "love" to "friendly" and the game will think you never romanced her. This will rob you of Morrigan epilogue in Awakening.

If you play as human noble and agree to marry Anora then your romance with Morrigan is over. Not sure how Witch Hunt is going to threat this one.

Does it really end? I never take that choice as it seems sleezy, but looking at the dialogue in the toolset to Morrigan's reaction, if you pick the right choices and explain its only political, Morrigan says she understands and would have done the same.

And in this thread on the DA2 forums, one of the people who saw the behind closed doors Gamescom DA2 demo gave their breakdown with this interesting tidbit regarding Flemeth's meeting with Hawke:

Flemeth doesn't have the time to help the group all the way to Kirkwall
as she has an appointment to keep, but for already provided help and
since it's on your way anyways, she wants you to deliver something to a
group of Dalish.

Hmmm.... what matter of package would Flemeth deliver to the Dalish? Again, add that to the fact that Witch Hunt deals with an ancient Elven artifact in ancient Elven ruins and it seems the Witches are definitely deeply involved with the ancient elves and probably Arlathan........immortality stuff? Blood magic? Old Gods? Shapeshifting?

Its fine to chat with Morrigan during the farewell section. Its after that when you click on her and try to talk about last night which will deactivate the romance flag. Basically, this line of Morrigan's: "

"What was done had to be done. I regret it not. I shall be leaving,  as I said, and so this... entanglement of ours must end. Do you understand?."

That specific line deactivates the Morrigan romance flag. So if you want to keep her romance active don't speak with her after the farewell speech.

I have a question, if you romanced Morrigan in Origins, and then break up with her when she asks it. Will the romance be acknowledged in the DLC?

Also is the Warden's Mabari returning? Posted Image

If you break up with Morrigan, I'd imagine that deactivates the romance flag in the game and if thats what the DLC looks for when importing, you probably won't get it acknowledged. But thats just my uneducated guess.

Not sure completely if the Mabari is back, but from the one screenshot, it seemed like a mabari was there.....

I think your right about importing the romance,

Yeah, I thought I saw a Mabari in the screenshot!

Not sure completely if the Mabari is back, but from the one screenshot, it seemed like a mabari was there.....

I wish Bioware had made Dog a summon.  Kind of like how the Bronto was in the GoA DLC.  That way Dog would have never left the Warden's side.

There's a mod for that  :wizard:

I'm wondering how many spoilers will leak out prior to Witch Hunt being released. I hadn't really though about that, but given that its only a couple hours long most likely, what are the odds that the trailer spoils things? Considering this is really (for me at least) the end of Origins, I may go dark for a bit prior to release. Especially considering that any achievements for Witch Hunt will no doubt leak out and possibly spoil things to some extent...hmmmmm...

I tried that mod but found some pretty annoying pathfinding issues and ended up de-installing.

Well, trailers usually show the beginning of DLC, it's not that bad.
