On the topic of Witch Hunt, provided that we're actually moving around
Ferelden in search of Morrigan and they aren't just reusing old areas, what would be the reasons for going back to:
The Mage Tower? - Maybe you go there to chat up the templars to find out if they've heard about Morrigan? And maybe thats where you pick up the mage guy?
Dragon Bone Wastes/ Drake's Fall: From the screens it looks like maybe we go to Drake's Fall. Thats a graveyard for dragons basically from the time of the Tevinter Imperium. What I'm wondering is that in Awakening you find the Vestements of Urthemiel there, robes worn by a worshipper of Urthemiel....Is that just coincidence?
Ugh...I wish we'd get some news about Witch Hunt....surely I can't be the only one refreshing the Witch Hunt page whenever I go on to internet?
IIRC you can also get the Vestments of Urthemiel from one of the blood mages in Amaranthine.
I don't know the mage tower would have that many answers to Morrigan's whereabouts - on one hand, none of the people there made any mention of her apostate status (Greagoir even paid her a compliment), and probably wouldn't know much about her; but on the other hand, for First Enchanter Irving to possess one of Flemeth's documents, you never know...
I'm partially curious as to what significance that Dalish artifact has. According to the backstory of one of our companions, that seems to be something central to the DLC. I know, it's taken a backseat to Warden-Morrigan, but still something to think about. Maybe we'll get a NOTB reference if we're lucky.
You'd think with a week to go, we'd have more information on this thing...

You're right about the robes being a random drop earlier in Awakening, forgot that.
I just want the focus of this DLC to be on the CHARACTERS as much as possible and not some Elven MacGuffin. Maybe it turns out to be a really cool, plot important MacGuffin that ties in with Morrigan, but still, I'd want a character driven DLC, if at all possible.
And yeah, about 1 week to go. I'm wondering when they'll release a trailer? Tomorrow (Tuesday), one week prior to release? You'd think they'd want the trailer out for at least a little bit of time.
Then again BioWare's marketing never makes any sense to me. I remember Gaider posting how the number one thing affecting sales of an expack was its proximity to release from the base game; meaning the closer it came out in relation to the base game the better the sales, while the farther out the worse the sales.
What I don't get is why hold off on the biggest plot hook/thread from Origins then for a dinky DLC thats gotten zero marketing, when I'm sure anyone thats finished Origins would at least be curious about it. Surely, having an expack that continued with old characters and explored Morrigan's story would have been a whole hell of a better hook than having the totally disconnected Awakening.
Just another reason why I think BioWare really screwed up by not sticking Morrigan's story in an expack.

Thanks alot, I was thinking, seeing as this is an appreciation thread of sorts and there doesn't seem to be any signatures for Morrigan around, I thought I would make some. Unfortunately, catchphrases aren't my strong point, so if anyone has any suggestions tell me and I'll whip something up.
These are two I did very quickly, feel free to use them.
They are both 400x25 btw, even if the Morrigan Forever one looks bigger for some reason (no idea why).
Nice work!
But damn, I don't have any space left for new siggies. I really like the dark ritual one. In fact I was actually thinking of making a dark ritual siggy today (weird!).
Lady Hawke siggy vs Morrigan siggy? Decisions, decisions....

I concur. I feel like this DLC coudl have been merged with Awakening, as one expansion.
I am pretty sure the OGB is related to the concept of darkspawn Awakening anwyays, so it could have worked.
Because right now, the Awakening concept, while very interesting, just seems disconnected and a minor incident in the way it was delt with.
The DR and OGB being delt with a DLC also makes it seem that way, but I hope I am wrong on this one.

For example Leli's song could have started by you walking up to her in camp and her asking whether or not you wanted to hear her story (again or for the first time).
That's sort of what I did. I had her tell me her story first and then launched the DLC. Of course it would be much nicer for it to be actually integrated into the main campaign.

Right- with the Darkspawn's connection to the Old Gods, DR or not, Morrigan is interested in preserving the Old Gods while the Architect sought to kill them. Conflict, right there. I know this thread or the Morrigan group likely contains tons of theories we posted on how Morrigan could have tied into Awakening, but all we got was a bugged epilogue slide.
The fact that Gaider has said the DR is the biggest choice from Origins gives me some hope that they won't just totally write it off in this DLC- unless putting it in a DLC is already writing it off. On one hand the DR/OGB need to be explained better in this DLC. If they can't do that, the DLC is a failure. They're marketing it as revealing Morrigan's secrets and the biggest secret she has is what the hell she plans to do with the OGB. If BioWare tries to spin it that they're really just reveal whatever minor secret Morrigan has brewing with the Elven MacGuffin or they retcon it such that the OGB is a minor thing that only led to the Elven MacGuffin, I will not be pleased.
I'm just worried that the whole integration of the Elven MacGuffin will eat away too much time in the DLC and ultimately instead of focusing on Morrigan and the Warden, the DLC focuses on the awesome powers of Elven MacGuffin.
But I'll stop dooming and glooming before Shiori kills himself!
Hooray for more Claudia Black/ hot Morrigan voice in 1 week!

Haha, thanks though, I'm glad someone likes them and wow for coincidence that you were going to make one. I must of secretly stole your thoughts
On another note, I tried making an animated one with a scene from sacred ashes (very small scene) but right now I'm having issues with the frame rate, hopefully it will get done though. I'm trying to make it similar to the Hawke support signature (the one I have in my siggy).
To everyone on this thread, I'll take any signature requests, including non-morrigan ones because well..I've got time on my hands.

The thing is, I have a sneaky feeling they are not going to elaborate much on the OGB, simply for the fact that you can choose to opt out of the ritual all together. Unless they come up with something crazy like Morrigan just slept with some random solider just before the battle (unless she must sleep with a Grey Warden? I can't remember the details too well). However if the OGB isn't there/not explained, I'll be royally annoyed <_<.

Well seeing as there are only 3 grey wardens (four if you get Loghain) at the time, she would of had to sneak around with one of them.
However, it doesn't make sense that if you don't take the ritual and she sleeps around with another Warden for OGB why you still die..
I now have an even stronger feeling that there will be no OGB...
Brockololly wrote...
Yeah, unless BioWare retcons the DR too, the way Morrigan explains it is that she needs to sleep with a Warden- specifically a Warden that hasn't been exposed to the Taint. So Riordan is no good and that leaves the male PC, Alistair or Loghain.
???
Haven't all wardens being exposed to the taint?

Personally, as much as I'm interested in the OGB, I have to wonder about the other variant on it. The one where it's implied that if you romanced her and slept with her at camp, turn down the DR, and sacrifice someone else, leaving the Warden alive, Morrigan pregnant with a normal child.

Something tells me that a male PC romancing Morrigan will get the most emotional impact out of this DLC. Crap... since all my characters have romanced Leliana. Well I suppose I can go back to one old save and flip on romance for Morrigan with the mirror. But that is way back.
If all you wanted was to flip the romance option on (without actually romancing her), you could use this mod and use the "love potion no. 9" item to turn on her romance. You could do it on a savefile right before the ending.
Thanks for the tip. But I was hoping to import my awakening character. Is there some mod where I can flip the switch for my awakening saved game?

Some of us are speculating that the dialouge was recorded for Awakening/maybe even for Origins right? Well wouldn't it be cool if that meant they had recorded lines for everybody else as well and these two new party members just bite the dust early on so we can take some of the old companions? They probably should have put that in the description though, that would be a huge selling point.

Thats what makes a Warden a Warden- thats the Joining ritual basically: drink a bunch of magically infused darkspawn/archdemon blood which gives the Warden his Warden powers of sensing the darkspawn and all that. The downside is that the Wardens basically have darkspawn blood in their veins. Thats the Taint basically- thats what allows them to kill the Archdemon without the Archdemon's soul automatically transferring to another darkspawn and starting all over again. Problem is that the darkspawn Taint eats away at the Warden's body so that eventually, like the darkspawn, the Wardens will hear the Call of the slumbering Old Gods and unless they go on their Calling and die taking down as many darkspawn as possible in the Deep Roads, they'll become ghouls or worse.
Quick question: My DW Cousland is at the Dalish Camp- what should he do with Cammen?

Since when did people forget what RPGs were all about? Oh ya, when ME came out....... Anyways, who wants to bet that the dog is back? That will be so awesome, hope I don't have to upgrade him again though.

That would be a great surprise. Start out with an Alien 3 beginning- kill off everyone at the start, except this time its just kill off the herp derp companions to replace them with a couple Origins ones.
That would be awesome, but there is no way in hell thats happening=]

Anyways, about IGN, ya they effed up the DA2 preview, but honestly, I don't understand everyone's hate for the site because of that one preview. Their reviews are accurate and they have great articles, they're reliable in my eyes.

I don't really trust too many review sites. There are alwasy games that come out that get high review scores that end up being crap (Far Cry 2, I'm looking at you...). Usually I just look at as many reviews as possible and sort of take the aggregate.

Done and done
Thats one thing I'll miss about having the silent PC- being able to read and appreciate all the dialogue choices, even the ones you didn't pick, like in the CAmmen dialogue:
"But she was to be my wife!"
"I was just sampling the goods. No harm done."
"And she still can be. Now she's just more experienced."
"That seems a bit unlikely now, doesn't it?"
