But he also ambiguously said yes that we'd see more Morrigan post Witch Hunt...

Although people asked him why DA2 looks different and his response was to think of it like a comic being drawn by a different artist....I fear for what Morrigan may look like down the road- or any returning companions for that matter...
And someone asked why they didn't bring the Warden back for DA2- he said they thought about it but pretty much said that the Wardens fight the Blight, so no Blight=no Warden.
Anyway, they supposedly recorded this chat so it should be up on BioWare's Ustream channel later.
And Gaider will be chatting again at 5PM PDT or 8PM EST.

I guess I'm pretty glad to hear that morrigan won't be in dragon age 2 it would be a pretty big insult to those of us that romanced morrigan if somehow hawke had a role to play in her story. It just seems so odd to see morrigan without the warden yet it still comes down to how this dlc is handled. Perhaps it will clear the way for more morrigan in the possible future DA entries though i'm not sure if thats something I'd want to see given that this dlc is basically the end of the warden.

Morrigan not showing up in DA2 is actually a good thing as far as I'm concerned.

yeah, again Gaider gave a solid "maybe" when asked again if the Warden might return later on. So if Morrigan isn't showing up when the Warden isn't showing up, thats a good sign right?
And here is the recording of Gaider's chat if you're interested

Its hard when doing stuff on computers to avoid a shortcut.

Reusing a model from one of the flagship characters as a shortcut? Not very likely imo.Giggles_Manically wrote...

They had to snip some corners, like the copy pasted templars, and the reusing of the Calling area for the door open shot.
Its done alot in animation, cheapen effects the audience is unlikely to see, or cant notice in time and put that effort into things dead center to catch their eyes. Simple Animantion procedure.
Trust me I learned all through high school how to animate and their are lots of tricks to save time and money.

Well, Laidlaw said that the events in DA2 are supposed to set the groundwork for Morrigan's return, so I guess we'll be seeing her in DA3. Unless, ofc, she appears in some kind of expansion for DA2, but I find that unlikely right now.
Also, I there is no way they'd repalce Claudia Black as Morrigan's VA. Gaider said he picked her as Morrigan because she fits his vision of the character perfectly.
There's no way he'd agree with having her replaced. If it came to that I imagine he'd be really angry.

Exactly. David Gaider might have been implying that we'll see the Warden in the future and logicially most who romanced Morrigan would stay around... Maybe we can up our hopes for that happening just a little bit, but not too much for obvious reasons.
All this speculation might be for naught however, as Witch Hunt's ending might rule it out. Better wait for the answers that it brings on the seventh.
edit: I agree with blademaster that it is a good thing she doesn't show up in DA2. She crossing paths with Hawke would be a bit awkward for me.

Very true. Best wait to see what Witch Hunt brings first. Just got my BioWare points and I'm all ready for that- just need to finish up Awakening now.

Yeah, I mean, I wouldn't mind seeing Morrigan by herself in a future DA game, its just that IF the Warden has the chance to go off into the sunset with her in Witch Hunt, they'd need to explain why the Warden wasn't with her in the future.

All they have to do is say there was no cure for the Taint and place her return some 30 years after Origins. I´d rather like see the Warden die ala Strider from LotR (book version) than in the Calling however. Don´t see the epic in falling in combat just for the sake of it.
I also hope they don´t change Claudia Black, but if the worst happens I guess they could find a worthy substitute. It was possible to substitute Mako in Avatar after all. Kal Reegar did a fairly good job.

Nothing surprising really. Probably confirmed some suspicions I had, about how the DLC would play and several characters.
Anyone knows if someone modded the Black Swords from Elric saga into the game? There´s someone I want to kill more than dead.

@Brockololly thanks a bunch for the info from the live chat with Gaider. I think, based on what you posted on here in regards to that, some of my concerns may be alleviated for now, and that I'll be looking forward to Witch Hunt even more. Just finished my main Warden's Awakening playthrough, the one that romanced Morrigan, and now I'm just waiting until the 7th, so I can use the character again and see how the romance plays out in Witch Hunt.

I have a question. Since I'm on PS3 I can't really distinguish between friendship and love with Morrigan. My question is this: If I don't do the DR but my Warden is in a relationship with her and she leaves does she stay at "love"? Will I get the Morrigan ending in DAA if I went after her but didn't do the DR? Thanks for any replies in advance.
Anybody? I'm finishing up my main and I wanted to be ready for Witch Hunt.
