Ha! Am I the only one who finds those in-game screen shots of Morrigan funny? xD

"Always the clever one." -_-

"Always the charmer." :)

So apparently I can't not go with her...it's like romancing Tali...I go into the game expecting to let her go, and I just can't. Character ends up going with her despite my plan. Stupid Morrigan.

I sent them a bug in the beta patch i noticed a few days back - in a post-game save a particular branch "she stole my child" would never show up when speaking to Ariane, in a post-coronation save it does. Whether that's the one they're referring to I don't know.

What the hell? She stole my child? That doesn't make any sense. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/angry.png[/smilie]

Just got an update from Victor and that issue is indeed the reason for the delay. The actual text is "She has taken my child.".

So you are responsible for the delay? Grrrr!!

Can you access the DLC with the toolset? Or are you just testing it in-game?

Okay sorry for the tangent, but what line of dialogue precedes the line in the image above? I've yet to hear it.

Its if you ask for answers I think...let me check my screens...here we go:
*snip*

Ah ha, thanks. I always choose "I couldn't let it end like that" or whatever.

Yay, another couple of seconds of Morrigan dialogue!

The question is, is Morrigan totally acting on her own now apart from Flemeth or is she somehow being played by Flemeth still? Is she unknowingly still just a puppet being strung along by Flemeth?

I think all those involved are still getting played to a certain degree.

Before what was revealed in Witch Hunt, I was thoroughly convinced Morrigan and Flemeth were completely in
cahoots and that Morrigan asking you to kill Flemeth was a sort of set up, to guage just how loyal the Warden is to Morrigan and whether they could manipulate the warden or convince them to join the Dragon Cult in a
future DA title with Morrigan and Flemeth. One thing I base this on is that Flemeth isn't surprised at all when the Warden comes and announces he's going to kill her (the only surprise to Flemeth out of the whole
"Flemeth's Grimoire" quest is when the Warden accept's Flemeth's deal and takes the grimoire without struggle. Otherwise, Flemeth talks as if she has dealt with this situation before and has prepared to fight.

I always thought that was referring to Flemeth having many daughters, some of which had attempted to escape their fates, presumably calling upon the aid of others, thus Flemeth wasn't surprised with history repeating itself. Whilst Flemeth certainly has some kind of foresight, I doubt this was one such occasion.

And on the topic of destiny, fate and prophecy and all that- regarding the Warden remember the encounter with
Gaxkang where he says: "Eyes are on you from a very high vantage, Grey Warden."

Makes it seem like the Warden has caught the attention of high ups in the Fade and such. Now maybe thats just the Warden's rolein ending the Blight or maybe its something more for the future and DA3, maybe?

Yeah, despite the switching of protagonist for DA2, WH implies that it might not be his final quest. Did anyone ask Gaider if the "gift" morrigan gives you is actually plot relevant (could feature in the future) or is it merely a fourth-wall breaking moment to give you the "witchcraft" goodies... which seems less likely.

Ha, you should be happy I caught it. Sadly I am restricted to in-game testing.

For some reason I can't get the new dialogue to pop up on any of my characters. Kind of bizarre.

Edit: Actually scratch that was able to get it to pop up on a post campaign save Dalish. Kinda sets an odd tone.

the v2 patch doesn't fix the issue, the additional file is an nss script source for a plot file, which does nothing by itself. The problem only occurs in post-game saves, post-coronation saves allow you to select it.

edit: to correct a mistake :)

More bugs?! Why can't we have peace?!

It seems that way...

I distincttly remembered the first time I played that I chose "Dont worry we'll find morrigan" instead of "dont worry we'll find my child" because I didnt want the game to believe I only wanted the child.

The next time I started up, these dialogues simply werent there!

And yes I did import a post coronation game (not a post epilogue), actually the same game i imported the first time i played wh without encountering a single bug...

man...

another funny thing, i loaded a save game of wh just to check it out (the first one without the bug) and at the conversations screen it didnt have the correct dog dialogues.

I'm starting to get eye spasm here...=]

I would like to know this too, I thought the end credits were coming up too early because in the cut-scene the book is sparkling like an item you can pick up, yet you don't get the chance to view it..

Sorry if this has been answered already, but I only just finished WH and seeing this post is almost at 400 pages, I only read the last 4-5 pages, and didn't see an answer ><

She just says that your son is safe and he is not here, or something to that effect.

Whenever she says that I more or less figure she's just placed it through the portal, and it's just sitting there on the other side in a basket or something. Where it's probably being mauled by a demon.

Haha. Morrigan would probably put protective spells on the child. XD Or maybe she has a baby-sitting spell. >_>

The companions in Awakening follow the friend track not the Love track. So Warms pretty good.

I found it curious she kept him, being the child of someone who from her POV failed her. Maybe Flemeh´s influence is starting to fade?

About Flemeth, I can´t help thinking she expected/planned for everything and Morrigan is playing her game unknowingly. There´s a Palpatine air to her.

Bug related to when you give a specific gift to each companion before you start their personal quest.  In my most recent playthrough of Awakening, Anders, Velanna, Sigrun, and Justice all "Loved" me.

Since you're going over bugs, something I just noticed when I reloaded my save at Morrigan (coronation room save imported into Witch Hunt) to check something was that unlike in my bugged ("no dark ritual" despite doing it, post epilogue) save, she did not mention that I kept the ring etc.

I don't know if anything has been said about it or if the betaing that was being done has ended, if not, would be nice to get this checked/fixed while the opportunity is there.

Well, supposedly the book Morrigan steals that gives her the knowledge she needed to operate the Eluvian portal was given to that Dalish clan by Hawke courtesy of Flemeth's influence, so, I have to agree with you that Morrigan's attemts to usurp her mother are actually "just as planned" for Flemeth.

That is true. I was more referencing the sequence of events, from Morrigan wanting Flemeth out of the picture to her going ahead with Flemeth's plan for a Dark Ritual. And while part of Morrigan's motivation is love, I seriously thought at the time that everything was just too well-placed to be coincidence. The way Flemeth worded what she said when the warden goes to kill her was just way too odd and ominous, and I knew that there was more going on then what Morrigan said. I'm not saying Morrigan is a liar, but what I'm saying is that I thought it was planned for the warden to find out about it and to have the motivation to do what Morrigan says and kill Flemeth.

However it doesn't matter anyway since Witch Hunt proved my theories wrong.

I've long since given up trying to parse any of Flemeth's dialogue searching for any hidden meaning. If for nothing else, my PCs always kill Flemeth for talking herself in circles. Its just annoying.

Oh and on the topic of Flemeth and Maric, I went back and checked in the PAX chat to see what Gaider said about maybe learning what promise Maric had to make to Flemeth and he sort of did an evil chuckle and said "Maybe- that would be fun wouldn't it?" I really want to know what the hell Flemeth is doing running into all of these important people in the history of Thedas....
