movies, there are a few movies I could think of if I had the time to really think of them. I would say that movies with a philosophical standpoint would the ones that would appeal most to her.
Music, I'm not even gonna give MY answers because my music tastes can be pretty radical. However I will say that while I'm not the number 1 NIN fan, NIN is probably a good pick for Morrigan's theoretical Ipod library.

Any thoughts on what she would say about certain titles?

Haha. While thinking of what Movie Morrigan would enjoy, I kinda ended up just thinking that Morrigan would just find something to insult in most of the movies nowadays. And those insults are probably amusing. XD I think I'd want to accompany her to the movies just to hear what kind of amusing comment she'd say after.
Any thoughts on what she would say about certain titles?
Hahaha- this reminded me of one of Aimo's comics- context being I think Steve Valentine wrote on twitter that he liked Twilight or something- hence Morrigan and Aimo's dwarven noble yakking it up at the expense of Alistair and Twilight...

I imagine Morrigan insulting during a movie would be a bit like Mystery Science Theater 3000 type commentary.

Hehe, you'd think Morrigan would have her own Rifftrax collection on a bunch of movies? Its possible
As for movies I know she would detest, heres a list: most chick-flicks, all of the Twighlight movies, mindless action movies, religiously-themed movies, and I think she would laugh at most horror movies.
Comedy is dicey as there are many types of comedy movies. She wouldn't like slapstick or a lot of the brainless type of comedy movies. I'd imagine maybe dark comedies she would like, abstract ones (where you have to think about the joke) she would get the humor of and like as well.
I honestly believe she would be into very philosophical movies given her thirst for knowledge and her respect for intelligent people. She wouldn't mind intellectual conversation. I can't list too many movies off the top of my head but one that sticks out may be "Donnie Darko", which deals with a lot of philosophical themes and partially with Chaos theory. Certain action movies/movies based on graphic novels have a philosophical bent that I think she would tolerate the action of to experience.
Basically I don't see her getting into anything stupid.

Movies for Morrigan? Yeah, Brock has it right - she'd probably end up recording her own library of MST3K/RiffTrax type stuff. Also lol'd hard at Oghren in that Aimo comic above me.
I get the sense she might like Kubrick's body of the work, though.

Haha- yes, the DA2 announcement was a dark time for the Morri thread, full of angst and rage. Dark times indeed
I get the sense she might like Kubrick's body of the work, though.
I could see that maybe- I'd guess much like how Morrigan doesn't outwardly act like she likes jewelry but secretly does, that she may secretly like certain movies but would never tell anyone but maybe the Warden. So I'm calling it- Morrigan is a Monty Python fan.
============================================
And some further Morrigan news!
From this interview with Laidlaw about DA2, we have this question about Morrigan:
Can we expect to see Morrigan return in Dragon Age II?
Morrigan’s story s not over even after the Witch Hunt DLC, and although I can’t go too far into it, I can say that she’s not done with this world by any stretch of the imagination.
*sigh* See, normally that would make me happy. But in light of the quotes from Brent Knowles on DA2 and all of the other general nonsense into making DA2 more of an action RPG like ME....ugh. Suffice it to say at this stage the only reason I'm still interested in DA overall is the story. And so help me God, if BioWare screws up the Morrigan story in th future by not bringing back the Warden and Old God Baby right alongside her, I'm done with BioWare. I'll say it again- Morrigan and the world of DA is only interesting through the perspective of the PC- namely, the Warden. You bring back Morrigan while hand waving away the Warden and thats just proof to me that BioWare is clueless.

The prospect of the Warden and OGB being dropped makes me one sad panda. Even if he/she was just reduced to a blurb in the codex, it still wouldn't cut it. In fact, it would feel slightly insulting imho. It's like saying, "well thank you for your hard work and dedication. Now here's your consolation honorary mention prize." That would certainly leave a sour taste. The story may yet still be interesting and engaging and the major plot completely resolved, but w/o the Warden it would feel incomplete.

Look above; if Bioware/EA make that mistake (and I say that word in confidence b/c I honestly think it would be), those chairs might yet be occupied once more.
Okay, enough pessimism and more speculations. So, I'll get this one started again:
I'm not sure if it’s been mentioned before, but did anyone else get the feeling during Morrigan's “change” speech that the fate of the old gods are being foreshadowed here? In the part where she says, “…sometimes change is what sets them free”, I suddenly thought of the old gods and the taint. I know she’s referring to the people of Thedas, but could this also apply to the old gods being freed from their prison and/or the taint? What do you guys think?

Thats the conundrum as I see it- if we never had Witch Hunt and perhaps they relegated the Warden to a codex entry or just in passing mentioned how he never found Morrigan and they went on to do whatever they had planned with Morrigan, it would suck, first of all. But IF they have no plans for the Warden going forward and are just going to make the Warden disposable again post WItch Hunt, what was the point?Skyl4rk wrote...

Basically, the ending to Witch Hunt, for any Warden but especially if you went through the Eluvian with Morrigan, almost neccesitates bringing the Warden back whenever Morrigan comes back, which she will. To bring Morrigan back but not the Warden and then go "Oh hey guys! Look Morrigan is back! Isn't that cool! Look how dark, grim and sexy we made her in our hot rod samurai art style! Isn't that badass!?" would just be completely missing the point.
Whether you gut stabbed Morrigan or went through the portal with her, those consequences need to be dealt with by the Warden, anything else comes across as cheap, stupid and clueless as to why some people want Morrigan back. You bring Morrigan back but not the Warden and that sure as hell isn't my Morrigan.
Thats a good point- I've thought she could be referring to the Old Gods in some way, but always figured the "Change is what sets them free" part referred to the people of Thedas, not necessarily the Old Gods. But it possibly makes more sense if its the Old Gods she is referring to given the possiblity of the Old God baby and everything. I mean, whatever that change is it would seem to be something the Wardens should be mindful of, as she specifically tells the Orlesian to have the Wardens on guard. And the Wardens have a pretty close connection to the Old Gods, what with the Blights and all. Lots of cool possibilities there though.Skyl4rk wrote...

I don't expect anyone to know how to put a dynamic theme background (animated or slideshow using backgrounds are enabled on ps3's) but some suggestions/material would be awesome!
If there's a kind soul on a pc with idle time and an artistic mind I suppose I could try to recreate my warden with the character creator, I don't think the face is much different at all to one of the presets really.
Oh, yeah, typically a silent lurker here but I have actually read every page of this thread, s'a much better place for discussion than the group; I don't think I got a reply to my last post there.
So, yeah, keep it up! I may one day be willing to join in and write long, epic posts, my first post on these forums was pretty long and firmly rooted in the Morri-related cynicism Brock & Terra usually display as I recall
As for the "best of" rants discussion, you make me feel like scrounging for some of my first posts!
On the current Flemeth line of thought, I wouldn't hazzard a guess at what she is, but in my mind she's always been related to the old gods and origin of the darkspawn, the identical symbology in origins' intro and her grimoire's cover is obviously intentional and meant to spark all our "what if?" thoughts.
Personally, I don't think they actually settle all these things, I think they link a lot of things they haven't written yet just to torment us inquisitive types.
At any rate, the interview many pages back with Laidlaw had abated my fear of codex entry 'deaded' warden in mirror world or otherwise, the recent light shedding on the ex-lead designer's reasons for leaving however have rained on that parade.
I'd write more but, bed calls.

The more I'm seeing it from other's replies, the more I'm convinced that intro movie with the tree becoming blighted and Flemeth's grimoire are too connected for mere coincidence. I recently saw the intro again, too, when one of my friends was hanging out with me and I was sampling DAO to him.
Also, this is off-topic, my apologies in advance, but it is an idea I feel like I should present to try to help the cause of bringing the Warden back for DAO, and considering this group is probably the MOST invested in continued Warden development, its ideal to post it here.
I made a group a while back around the time of Witch Hunt's announcement in the hopes that it would get enough posters, and eventually get stickied. That hasn't happened yet but I hope it does. The thread is basically a sort-of petition for the Warden to come back in a future DA sequel after DA2. Here's the link:
social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/9/index/4575657
I think the strong voices here would be an asset to the thread and if the Warden came back, and Morrigan was coming back, that would obviously help us. So anyway, check out the thread and post.

Hah, I was actually browsing my own posts from the very beginnings of the this thread and some speculation to friends of mine on another forum. It's almost upsetting how far off the mark I was with speculation regarding post-Awakening content, DA2, "the Warden isn't done", etc. I was absolutely convinced an expansion, if not a sequel, set in Orlais was coming up next.
But hey, at least I correctly called Oghren being the Origins companion in Awakening. <_<

Truth be told, the changes being made that don't directly relate to the narrative and writing (i.e. Hawke, voiced protaganist, etc.) I'm not particularly upset with. So long as the changes made for the conosle don't bleed over to the PC (and the 3rd-party previews seem to indicate they aren't), I'm okay.
Just wish they'd stop using that goddman "Think like a General, fight like a Spartan" marketing line. It's cheesy and all it's doing is trying to draw (silly) comparisons to God of War and 300. I get it, 300 was a cool movie - hell, I liked it. Stop confusing it with Dragon Age.

I think most people accept that this change Morrigan (and Flemeth, I guess) speak of involves the Old Gods somehow. But I don't personally think "Change is what sets them free" refers specifically to the Old Gods themselves.
I do like the idea of the Old Gods being set loose upon the world. That would bring about some pretty damn big change to the world, and would be something the Wardens would be highly concerned about. Possibly even welcome, if they're free of the taint, or they might view it as the opportunity to destroy the remaining two potential archdemons.

Tbh, i am not so fond of Awakening. The plotline, the characters, the quests, it all felt incomplete and more "business" like. I mean, in Origins, you could see and almost feel everywhere that this game was written by people who loved it as much as i do, and who put all their love of fantasy and rpgs into the game. Thats what made Origins so great. Awakening, to me, felt more like someone trying to recreate Origins, but completely lacking the passion for the game.

I can see it now. The Warden's absence in future DA games will be handled the same way as was dogs absence throught the addtional content of Origins. They were just too less Wardens/Couslands/Amells/Maharials/ around, so the Warden went... you know, he/she took care of that. And as Wardens are almost sterile, that took a few years...
Or Gaider is getting his revenge. Throughout most of the recent year, he was mocking us if we really imagined Morrigan and Warden marrying, buying a house, get a bunch of children and live a happy ever after. So, the while mommy Morrigan is gone, daddy Warden stays behind in his little fairy mirror realm and takes care of the kids. And while we complain about the lack of our Wardens, he's dies of laughing telling us "i always warned you you should not desire this but you didn't listen, so now you have what you wanted".
