Running a Cousland male rogue (to check out the improvements made by Terra's mod) and got an interesting story from the Ash Warrior Leader at Ostagar. I didn't get this story with my Amell or Aeducan (supposedly you can't get the story if you are a dwarf). Here it is from the wiki: The Legend of Luthias Dwarfson The most interesting parts of the story (besides the obvious Arthurian references) are that one of the main characters is an Avarr Chieftain named Morrighan'nan.Luthias led his tribe to many victories, until eventually he replaced his foster father as chief of his tribe. This peace would not last. During a feast between the tribal leaders of the Alamarri and the Avvar, the beautiful and powerful Avvar chieftain, Morrighan'nan, became enamored with Luthias and seduced him. Scaea learned of the tryst and fled the village to return to Orzammar. When Luthias rebuffed Morrighan'nan's offer of marriage, she left in great anger, and from that moment on, there was war between the two tribes.
For 15 years, the Alamarri and Avvar fought. During the Battle of Red Falls, a powerful young warrior from Morrighan'nan's tribe challenged Luthias to a battle. Luthias was injured grievously, but slew the boy. Morrighan'nan revealed that the boy was Luthias's son, conceived 15 years ago during their tryst. She cursed Luthias as the murderer of his own kin, and the Battle of Red Falls turned against Luthias.
Morrighan'nan defeated Luthias in battle after battle, until the Alamarri were driven to the foothills of the Frostback Mountains. There, Luthias made a last stand. In the night before Luthias's final battle, Scaea came to him and offered him a dwarven suit of chain in exchange for a night together. Luthias agreed and wore the armor the following morning in battle. The battle was fierce and bloody, and Luthias met Morrighan'nan in personal combat. In the end, Luthias slew the warrior woman, but not before receiving a mortal wound to his heart, the chain inexplicably unable to block her final blow. Luthias died, and after the battle was done a party of dwarven warriors came down from the mountain and took the body of Luthias back to Orzammar.
Besides Morrighan'nan obviously referencing Morgause (or is it Morganna?) from Aurthurian tales, do y'all think Morrighan'nan has any relation at all to Morrigan? Such similar names!
Also, noticed in talking to Wynne at Ostagar that she mentions the Golden City (or at least what it is now) is at the center of the Fade. We've often mentioned in our discussions over whether that is where Morrigan might have gone when she went through the eluvian as it seems to be a place visible from yet unaccesable in the Fade. Just wondering if what Wynne says is true, and Morrigan says she's going somewhere "beyond" the Fade, it very well might be something else still yet.
On a totally different note, my mother-in-law today asked me what "apostasy" meant, and in my mind there was a battle between the definitions relating to the context she was asking in and then then all the Chantry warnings against apostates in the game, ha! Couldn't give her the Chantry/game definition, of course, but it did make me chuckle (she probably wondered why I had an amused look on my face as I tried to come up with an appropriate answer relating to the context in which she was asking, though!)

Simple enough, create an armor that would be associated with the Warden and slap on a helmet.
There is much truth in this statement... Its been done in the past with games where a created protagonist appeared in a sequel with a hidden face. I could seriously see this being done with the Warden's face, or maybe a dark, obscuring hood for rogues and mages.
The only time I want to see the Warden in DA2 is at the end, when this huge destructive conflict is about to happen, maybe pan the camera up from his feet to reveal the warden in all of his awesomeness with morrigan and the OGB by his side... ok so its probably not gonna happen, but hey I can still dream cant I?

I never said I liked it, but Dave presents what we're most likely going to be seeing. I would be really surprised if we got a chance to redo the Warden's face for the new graphics and have the Warden appear again.

Ah, thank you. I have heard of The Morrigan but need to find and read the legend to learn more.

Probably I'm asking a question that has already been answered many times before. Once I was actively reading this forum but had to leave a couple of months ago, after finishing DA:O and Awakenings. But returned when I heard Witch Hunt DLC and currently trying to understand one thing.
I believe most of you guys know that there was a glitch about keeping romance status of Morrigan during the last battle of DA:O. If you talk with Morrigan after her farewell speech, her relationship status switches to friend from romance. Like most of other players, I hadn't realized that, finished DA:O, then buyed DAO:A and finished it. I had my shock when I saw it did mention about my relation with Morrigan as if we were friends. When I searched forums, I saw that was because a glitch coming from way back to DA:O.
So, at the moment my latest character coming from Awakenings. Naturally, I want to play with my up-to-date character in Witch Hunt DLC. My question is, playing with this Awakening character would damage my gameplay experience in Witch Hunt DLC? I mean, what if my first encounter with Morrigan in this DLC will be something like an encounter of two old friends, instead of two lovers as it should be?
If this glitch somehow does not effect the DLC, please let me know. If I import my Awakenings character into the DLC and it would damage the relationship status, playing this DLC would be meaningless for me. So should I use my DA:O character instead of Awakenings character?

Don't quote me on this but I do believe you're stil capable of getting the romance ending, there's just some missing dialogue.

You should be ok, provided that you have the patched version of Witch Hunt. Witch Hunt had a bugged ending where Morrigan wouldn't acknowledge that you did the Dark Ritual, but that was separate from the problems with her epilogues in Origins or Awakening.
If you check the first post in this thread you can see at the start of WItch Hunt based on some of the early dialogue whether your game is bugged or not, but assuming you have the patched version of Witch Hunt, it shouldn't matter whether you're importing from Origins or Awakening.

I wrote a bit about Morrigan references from Irish folklore back many months ago. I couldn't find it to repost, but I believe you are correct. While there can be much inference drawn from the Arthurian Morgana (especially if Alistair were her brother or something [really just too icky to think about]), I see many more parallels to the Morrigan of Irish folklore and our DA Morrigan.
@ all: I've been away for awhile, merely lurking and reading here on occasion, is there any word on the XBOX 360 patch for WH? Has it been released?

Lots of stuff I need to respond to but not enough time to do so atm, but once I get my gaming rig sorted thread regulars will definitely like the new additions in the next version of MRP.
@Esbatty, your stuff is pretty good so far, be careful of using contractions in Morri's speech, it should be kept more formal if you want to capture her voice.
Hopefully I'll be able to muster a decent response to the points raised over the last few days sometime soon.

Its a suggestion for Ximena's list, and I think Morrigan would look quite breathtaking with this theme:
Carmen Sandiego Morrigan
What do you all think?

Hahaha- yeah I can see that. Got the whole mystery thing going on. Maybe it would work better post Origins when she disappears- "Where in Thedas is Morrigan?"
Nice one!

Well Morrigan can pull off the femme-fatale look as proven by many different artists and fanart pieces, and Carmen Sandiego kinda has that vibe (kinda weird to say since the show, other media, and her character were made for kids). It DEFINITELY works for Morrigan disappearing.

Thanks for catching that, I'll make sure to remember that when I inevitably do some revisions. Although she seems like the kind of woman who'd use old school contractions like "shan't" but I could be wrong. But yes I'll keep this in mind for future installments.
