Maybe she sought some ancient powerful artifact that belongs to the imperial family. She does seem to be looking for stuff in her quest for power, to prepare for what's coming ahead.

Yeah, that could be it. Just as she sought the Dalish book by getting in the Dalish clan's good graces and then running off.

Haha- now I 'm picturing Morrigan either as an Indiana Jones style archeologist recovering lost artifacts or some catwoman style burglar stealing from Orlesian aristocracy.

Morrigan in a cat woman costume...woooaaa :o, let's scratch the Indiana Jones idea and go for the catwoman costume changing her staff for a whip and climbing out from the Orlesian Cathedral. A woman from the wilds who has a thing for jewelery, books and pooossibly powerful relics.

Forgive me for the ignorance, and I've tried to search through this topic, but it is awfully long...

What do you suppose the Dalish book Morrigan left behind for the Warden contains?

That's anyone's guess at this point. We know nothing about it and there's no indication that we'll ever find out more. Right now, it's probably best to throw it in with the other mysteries that are never going to be explained.

I lean towards the former vs the latter.

In any event, its not entirely clear that she didn't get up to something in Orlais between the end of Origins and Witch Hunt. Maybe she did go over there and came back?

Probably the best explanation is the OOU one, sad to say...

Well, the Dalish book (as in the one Morrigan stole) likely has information on the Eluvians in it. That is after all why she stole it, so she could figure out how to use the Eluvian.

As for the other "gift" she leaves the Warden- it looks like another book when you see that cutscene, but nobody knows. I guess it could be Flemeth's grimoire maybe?

I believe Morrigan said that the gift would be VERY interesting for the Warden if he choses to stay, I imagine that it could be about the taint or the calling. That leaves me to wonder....if one choses to go with Morrigan through the eluvian then the Warden wouldn't have read the book and IF it is about the taint and the calling then by that reason the Warden will die answering the Calling and if he stays behind then the Warden would survive for reading the book and solving the problem with the taint and NOT having to answer the calling.

That's what I would find interesting to read and that could be something Morrigan would have consider important for the Warden to know.

So basically it's a choice between either life or love?

I dont think she leaves the gift behind if you go with her,but rather simply gives it to the warden once theyre beyond the eluvian?Or if she does, then one would assume she is able to tell the warden whatever information is in the book personally and as such has no need for the book, otherwise simply abandoning the book wouldnt make much sence if she  believes it would be of use to the warden imo.

...But then again, this is the wh Morrigan who allowed the potentially hostile warden get close enough to stab her so who knows

I agree about the gift having something to do with the taint...Although I cant quite shake the nasty feeling that whenever Morrigan does her comeback we get something like the warden having died from the taint <-<

Well that's another possibility, in THAT path if romanced and going with her through the Eluvian she could have kept the book instead of leaving it behind and handling it over to the Warden after crossing the Eluvian or leaving the book behind and stil she could have told him about it, so yeah, that's another theory that sounds possible.

I didn't played the version of staying behind, I saw that in youtube and the video I saw was of parting ways peacefully and collecting the book and leaving the dragonbones wastes with Morrigan taking a last sad look before walking through the eluvian.

MKDAWUSS wrote...

It wouldn't be the first time that a choice regarding Morrigan would be between life or love though for the ones who romanced her it was easy because it was chosen life and love instead of dying or let others take the credit of slaying the archdemon. But it could be a matter of those two choices.

It's just  something I thought about it regarding the book's importance and interest for the Warden, other than that...what else could be of interest for the Warden than saving his life from the taint or a way to effectively kill Flemeth? For Morrigan said "hunt her instead" .

If you played Warden's Keep, the mage whose name I forget claims to have cured the taint. Presumably that's passed onto the Warden in the new talents obtained from that mage.

Oh and FYI, the fabled Awakening card? Yeah, it was apparently hyping up the closed Beta for DA Legends facebook game....hyping it up for almost a year in advance.

I think that what Avernus said was that he was researching for more uses of the taint but not cure it, he used people to experiment and demons were awed by the taint. The talents unlocked were about blood and the taint wich reduces the constitution of the player while using them.

So....

No need to check the PSN and look for any Demo then? :? I do hope that the game does gets released next month though.

Well here's a fine kettle of fish.  Ran pellmell into the Silverite mine equipment bug.  Tried the zz-fab cheat -- recovered all of my equipment that way -- except Guess Whose Ring????

Not going on without the ring.  Thanks again to Terra-Ex for the mod -- i'll go back and replay the mine.
