How can you possibly say no to this face?

And here is Morrigan cheerleading as Arcturus finishes off an Ogre. She provides such mental support.

Having read the epic posts of Brock, Terra, and others the past few days, I'm curious what you think is (a) possible, and (B) acceptable in DA3 for Morri fans.  I take it that Warden as PC and Morri as a companion picking up from the Eluvian is not realistic? But Warden as a possible companion or independent character also seems unlikely, doesn't it (and I would argue, unsatisfying in any event)?

So aren't we left only with the realistic possiblities that only Morrigan will be an active character (whether a companion or independent character), or, more likely, that we'll just get dialogue from another character or possibly a cut scene filling us in on what happened to her and the Warden? I just can't get charged up over that possibility -- really does feel like being thrown a bone. I guess, sadly, I really won't be happy unless DA3 picks up from the Eluvian, and that seems next to impossible.

I can accept both Morrigan and The Warden being NPC's but having a reasonable amount of dialogue/interaction with the player

And we see the OGB receive reasonable attention

Nah, they kinda had to address the Morri/Warden thing, we (as a collective) were getting pretty damn p*ssed at the time (and we're still quick to anger now at the first sign of bs). Of course, unless they do something with those WH choices, the entire thing is useless imo. I don't think a DLC with Morrigan as the protagonist would have worked for reasons we've gone over many times before.

I dunno, it did do a lot things right with regards to the Morri/Warden romance (and considering that got short-shrift come the DR, it was sorely needed), there was ample opportunity to explore and reaffirm said relationship in conversations with Ariane, granted everything was condensed into a short timespan. For all the b*ching we do, we could have got a lot less on that front, so I'll give them props for that at least. As for furthering the plot, it pushed it forward a fraction but essentially it just replaced/added another cliffhanger alongside new questions and if the warden's not coming back in any capacity I fail to see how that was a intelligent decision. Gaider did say a while back in an interview (that I cba to source atm) that the origins wardens) would be involved in the future. He was quickly hushed on the subject by marketing lackeys according to the text transcript as I recall though.

Back to Morri though, I took something a bit different from it than what you're describing in your first paragraph - I felt you got that exposition into Morrigan in Origins proper and due to Morrigan's demeanour that character development and the information she shares with you serves as the "quality time", it just seems to be a little deeper and more personal than what is available with the other romances - there's more personal growth there (friendship path as well) and it has ties to a larger plot thread. Which is why it's acceptable that further development and affirmation of the romance was done through dialogue with Ariane/the ring, etc. Or long story short, the romance benefits from the warden being able to discuss it with another party member after being separated from Morrigan for several months.

So, while it wasn't without its problems, from the romance perspective and the fact that the warden's eventually reunion with Morrigan would entail a difficult conversation to say the least, there are far worse things they could have done. With regard to where it's heading, I think we know it's probably not going to end well, but whatever Morri's up to I definitely want to see the warden continuing to play a part. Outside of the romance stuff, there are several criticisms I could level against WH and the rest of the Origins DLCs, but I'll simple reiterate that the damn mirror choice better have a follow up.

Those are all thoughtful points to consider.  I'm comparing WH as it was to what it could have easily been.  True, Warden/Morrigan needed closure, and we got something that could be described as a form of closure (albeit one that raised more questions than it answered).  But if Bioware was going to make a DLC to satisfy the clamoring of Morri fans, I just can't understand why 98% of it didn't involve her.  It does seem perverse to make the entire DLC a rather uninspiring treasure hunt with two forgettable companions.

I suppose the difficulty may have come if Bioware was committed to treating equally Morri-lovers, Morr-haters, and  Morri-couldn't-give-a-damners.  Bioware could have easily had Morrigan and Warden team up in the beginning to hunt the Eluvian, with some satisfying, informative, plot-advancing dialogue along the way, but that wouldn't work for anyone other than Morri-lovers.  But who else was the DLC really for?

At the least, it would have cost Bioware little to expand the scene at the end with some better dialogue and more information.  I think the feeling of emptiness that many of us felt would have been much less with a few more answers.  After all, once Morrigan (suddenly and with little resistance) decides to take the Warden with her, he's going to find everything out anyway.  Would it have hurt to share a little info before they went through the mirror?

To go back to Leliana's Song, yes, that didn't advance the plot at all, but it allowed Leli fans to live through (a version of) the defining moment in her life.  That was meaningful and fun, and deepened her as a character.  On my second playthrough of DAO, I can tell you that I'm much more influenced by LS in how I view Leli than I am by WH in how I view Morri.

We're essentially weighing which is the lesser of two evils.  The ideal would have been a Warden-Morrigan sequel that provided answers and satisfying closure.  We got nothing close to that.  It's entirely subjective and hypothetical, and probably meaningless, but given what we actually got in WH, I still suppose I would rather have had a  Morrigan DLC that deepened our understanding of her than five minutes of marginal plot advancement that felt very perfunctory.

Actually, SHE is the one reason who got me to buy Dragon Age when I saw her trailer. I was looking info to buy Age of Conan and then my cousin told to watch her trailer of the coming up Dragon Age game, and now here I am, so I can say that I couldn't say no to her face in the trailer to buy the game and even less during the game.

Thanks for the picture KoP, you should put more Morrigan pictures here like this one.

Haha really?  I guess the add execs know how to work their magic then.

TBH I wasn't blown away the first time I saw her.  I think I might have even made a crack or two about her wearing ****/clown makeup :?

Now, the ****-clown look has grown on me quite a bit...  That sounded more complimentary in my mind before I wrote it out.

Just to ask, but has anyone going through the entire Morrigan romance and DR decided to part ways at the Eluvian in an attempt to spare their Warden from any potential plot-hammering or retconning that might come in Morrigan's return?

I've parted ways there on previous runs, but it was more a case of feeling that my Warden still had things to do there.

Hey guys? I need some help. I just finished Dragon Age: Origins. I romanced Morrigan, and even always had her ring after she gave it to me (she acknowledged that I had it when I was captured). I even did the ritual with her and she called me "her love" during the Final Battle when all of the characters say there good-byes and good-lucks. However, during the epilouge it acknowledged she was with child, but nothing about the ring. I did what the forums said and gave her the mirror gift after the credits. Will this fix the romance and give me the Morrigan Romance epilouge for Dragon Age Origins: Awakening and have Morrigan as a romance in Witch Hunt?

If you want the ring epilogue at the end of Origins you need to talk to Morrigan one last time after everyone says their goodbyes. That will trigger the ring epilogue. After that, then give her the mirror in the post epilogue save and that should give you the right epilogue in Awakening. For Witch Hunt, so long as you have the updated version, you porbably should be ok.

I'm not so sure about the ring epilouge, but I did have a romance with her and got the ring and did the ritual with her.  Then I did guve her the mirror after the epilogue.  So will I be good for Awakenign and Witch Hunt?

This is for the Xbox 360 by the way.

I refused to do certain things in bed....I changed my mind :D

I only said  I will always protect her. Somehow she thinks that pulling off this face is going to dissuade me when it does the exact opposite lol

Yea, wherever she goes....we will follow....in a not creepy way...(Arcturus is a rogue with stealth...hehehe).

I like the DR kiss

And I know saying this will make me a pariah, but I have to once again say that I like the DR the way it is. With Morrigan being straight to the point and avoiding as much sentimentality as possible.

JFarr74,

I think (THINK) that to get the Awakening Epilogue, you need to be at "love" status in the DAO game you import, and NOT have agreed to go adventuring with anyone else at the end of DAO ike Leli or Zevran. If you had to use the mirror to get back to Love status in the post-epilogue camp save, then that's the savegame you need to import. Note, however, that if you used the Morrigan Mod, you don't need to use the mirror; you'll stay at "love" after the Ritual even if you talk to Morrigan afterwards.

Brockolily knows hundreds times more than I do, but I've assumed that to get the Ring epilogue in DAO you needed (a) the Ring, (B) to be in an active romance with Morrigan, and © to have told Alistaire at the end that you intend to go after Morrigan. But I might be wrong about ©.

I've never seen definitive requirements to have the option of going through the mirror in WH. I have the feeling it's probably more forgiving than the epilogues. I suspect having been in an active romance and done the Ritual is enough. I can tell you I didn't get the Awakening epilogue (because I went traveling with Leli) but I did get to go through the mirror in WH.

Yes it's a mod, I think it's part of Terra's Morrigan Restoration patch and I also need a sodding computer to play the game, or is it the other way around? the computer to play the sodding game? either way, sodding situation.
