Well, an Old God should be capable of entering the Black City, assuming he can reach it. It could end in another disaster. I did hear some talk about Flemeth wanted to possess the OGB to breach the Black City, something to shelf in the "rumors" file.

Also, considering DA2, "disaster" may have multiple connotations attached to it.

Heh.

I do wonder if the whole Dreamer/ Feynriel plot in DA2 doesn't tie into maybe some further exploration of the Black City down the road. Considering that Feynriel can end up going to Tevinter and of course they were the ones to supposedly get into the Black City in the first place. And it might connect to Arl Foreshadow's codex in DA2 about the parapets and dreams or whatever, which seems to implicate Tevinter.

As always with the OGB, it depends on what Morrigan wants with it and what Flemeth wants with it and if they have the same or opposite goals in mind. And where the heck the Eluvian goes to and what the deal is with that. Thats really the big disappointment with DA2- it didn't seem to really expand the lore that much and didn't even attempt to answer any questions raised in Origins, Awakening or Witch Hunt.

Edit: And I'll toss Grumpy Morrigan on  the top of the page:wizard:

Oh, thanks!)

I'm sorry for my english. I think this translate as:
- Сarry me out, nerd, you lost that dispute)
- When I become king, I will burn you to hell!

I'll leave it to a multilingual to verify.

Haha, I love that. I WILL BURN YOU TO HELL!

I miss the Morrigan vs Alistair sniping, it was playful and funny.

:D That was excellent!!! At the moment Morrigan won the argument (as it should be, clever girl) and she is having her reward but who is to say that alistair will become king? he can say that but there's no real certainty at least in my playthrough he is executed so Morrigan still wins. Great picture and also liked in the youtube videos if alistair is a wallowing in self pity drunk that he mentions Morrigan.

Just completed DAII tonight. Lots of catching up to do on this thread. Missed all of your Morrifans! Missed Morri in DAII, although was happy at there very minor cameos in the conversations. Very excited about the end where Leliana and Cassandra are looking for both Hawke AND the Warden.

I had my doubt and anti-Hawke prejudices but the game blew me away. The combat was awesome. I liked Aveline the most as like Morrigan she was hardest to get. After all that flirting my Hawke ended up single and not getting any outside the red-lantern brothel since it turned out Aveline was unromanceable. Didn't even figure out how to get a kiss out of her which according to DAII wiki, you can. Sided with the Mages, played as a Mage too. Still had to dispatch Anders as he went extreme as did the Elven sage Owhatever his name was. Loved the red lightasberesque Meredith. Intrigued by the red idol and primal deep road implications for future DA storylines. Best part is that the Warden is being sought and since mine rode of in the sunset with the Morri, the possibilities are very interesting and tantalizing for future DA installments. I comitted to the franchise after WH came out. The DA story continued stronger than I expected so I am pretty excited at DAII expansions (Hawke ended at "only" lvl 23).

Good to see you guys again. I'll catch on on your posts here in the next several weeks.

Here's to the Warden/Morri/OGB family in a future DA installment near you. Good job EA and BW!

Actually exploring the Black City seems unlikely, but I wouldn't be surprised if Feynriel forms the plot hooks for the next installment's (whatever that may be) Fade adventure.

I'm sure this has been brought up before, but what if the Black City is actually seperate from the Fade, and conceals another realm within it (like an interdimensional TARDIS)? IIRC Tamlen sees visions of it within the eluvian during his tainting session, and it certainly seems like a place that Morrigan and the OGB (assuming they've told him of his nature) would be interested in.

Considering how locations were reused throughout DA2 and how underwhelming the implementation of the Fade was, I'm not so sure we'll be seeing anything regarding it, nor any locations that don't fit within the existing Kirkwall aesthetic. I do want to know where those lines regarding Flemeth/Feynriel fall within the game though, is it possble to refuse to do the dreamer quest and lock yourself out of it permanently, maybe that would trigger those lines.

Indeed, the facepalming/crying statue on the kirkwall map pretty much summarises my current feelings towards the game. DA2 has spawned a most amusing motivationals thread though. I played some of the ME2 Arrival dlc last night after finishing up FemShep's LotSB and I can't fathom how I've come to like Mass Effect more than Dragon Age but one of them works while the other just... doesn't.

And I'll try to get to Brock's post sometime this week.

DL'd and played last night.  A very good lead-in to ME3, although it wasn't without it's own set of questions to obsess over.  And I, like you, never thought that ME could ever eclipse the sheer might of Dragon Age...but...well...it is what it is.  I'll get to a sufficiently epic length post on my thoughts on DA2 later, but have a pile of work to cut through first.

I always thought that the locale Tamlen saw through the Eluvian was the Black City or wherever it was the Archdemon was located at the time. Then again, who knows with that Eluvian since it was tainted- so maybe its a total anomaly while the untainted one Morrigan was able to activate leads somewhere else entirely?

But yeah, going to the Black/Golden City would seem like a big deal and it does supposedly exist "beyond" the Fade, insofar as its not supposed to be accessable from the Fade.

Yeah....it will be interesting to see what the first DLC is all about. If for nothing else to see if BioWare can positively respond and address some of DA2's shortcomings.

As far as the Feynriel quest goes, the references to Flemeth/Asha bellenar that you found all would occur with the last part of the quest with the Keeper probably, right? Or maybe Merrill? I'll have to try to load that up to see some of the dialogue there...

The thing with ME2 at least is that it went the distance in making itself an action game with RPG bits tacked on. Whereas DA2 is in limbo, trying to please everyone. I still like DA and find it a more interesting world than ME, but as far as games go, yeah, I'd probably favor ME as of now. That said, I really don't care for ME as an RPG or being too invested in Shep, but at least its a fairly polished product.

The whole Origins forum has died down quite a bit. But yeah....kind of disappointed in the lack of any new Morrigan related speculation fuel in DA2.

We've beaten all available information to death and we're technically not supposed to use this thread for ranting about DA2.

At this point it's back to desperately praying for a DLC to address shortcomings of the main game.

What are you talking about, I've always loved him. I become mad every time Morrigan is mean to Alistair.
And don't get me started on Loghain. After Morrigan, he is my most hated character.

Since I can't keep the charade of me hating beloved Morrigan, hint: 1rst of April :P

Leliana is the better Origins LI... if you can really say that there is anything redeemable in Origins.

DA2 improved on combat, art, story, and the type of quests you did. Origins is a relic, and should be discarded.

I hated all the Origins characters. I was so mad to see Leliana back after I decapitated her after pissing in those Ashes - so much for getting rid of everything that made Origins suck.

Anders, though, that's one character they managed to rescue from the scrappy heap. It's so badass when that Justice bro takes over and his eyes start glowing and voice booming, like that Harbinger dude from Mass Effect. You should totally be able to do that on demand. That's what I call "press a button and something awesome happens"!

Nothing beats pressing the "uninstall Dragon Age: Origins" button though. I felt instant release, with nothing but awesomeness filling my body.

I regret to inform you guys... that DW, your neighborhood MorriCousland fancomic has been discontinued. Or shall I say "HELL YES I'M FINALLY THROWING IT TO THE CORNER TO COLLECT DUST!"?

I will now be focusing on my career.

Plus I hate Morrigan now.

Thank you all.
