Yeah, I agree, Gears is easy to dismiss as just another shooter. But, in truth, the story elements are surprisingly well developed and deeper than what a first glance might suggest. I really like the polished gunplay and the MP, but the story of Sera, The COG, Delta and the Locust are also intriguing [not to mention a bit more interpersonal back story and character development than one might expect]. If you read the GOW Wiki, the plot elements as anotated in the character notes, seems to be moving to a whole new level. The story of Dom, Maria and the introduction of Sam is one of those that promises to be a highlight. Maria and Dom were sort of like the interpersonal anchor of the story, until well...you know. We'll see where Sam fits in.
CB voice acting her is a pretty good sign she might be important.
Yeah...not having a 360, I've never gotten into Gears that much. I played the first on PC but then of course Epic decided to ditch the PC so there went that.

Cliffy B supposedly loves Mass Effect, calling it the RPG for guys like him, so I'll be interested to see if the future holds an experiment in that direction, and see what Epic can do in the genre. Anyway...fun to speculate because I really love the franchise. Hell, what with the hybridization bug going around, I'd almost bet it's a guarantee they'll try something RPG-ish.
Not to entirely derail the thread, but I really don't consider ME much of an RPG anymore- its guns&dialogue. Its fine to have games like ME though and that sort of lighter action RPG but dammit it sucks to see BioWare forcing that cookie cutter action-RPG lite template on something like DA as well. And hell, if you've played The Witcher 2, while thats an action-y game gameplay wise, in terms of RPG choices and consequences it blows anything BioWare has ever done out of the water.
Thats not even mentioning how brilliant Deus Ex Human Revolution is, even in beta form. Just seems like while BioWare is intent of dumbing down their games, other devs are making them more complex and with less hand holding- like the freedom of choice and augmentations in Deus Ex or the genuinely branching and divergent content in The Witcher 2.

On to Morrigan, if she does return to DA and her Warden is mysteriously absent or find out he was crushed by the plot hammer, well, needless to say from my view, I'll be less than excited. However, as a playable character, there might be a modicum of interest there. I'm just not that excited with the franchise anymore after DA2.
Yeah...DA3 is going to need to show more than just an interesting story to get me interested at this point. The competition has stepped their game up and its about time BioWare tried to do the same.
If Morrigan shows up without the Warden I won't be thrilled no matter what. It would be BioWare essentially crapping on the Eluvian choice and anyone who romanced Morrigan one last time. Maybe a cameo or something would work...but hell, if they're still using the crappy DA2 facemorph system I don't even want to see Morrigan again. Just have her story over and done with so it can't be dragged through the mud any further.

I do actually have something relevant
to ask over here, though: If Morrigan was impregnated by the Warden
somewhere before the ritual, and the ritual itself was never allowed to
take place, how does the dialogue during her Witch Hunt encounter
change?
If Youtube videos could be shown, I would also appreciate that.
Thanks in advance.
I think thats basically the scenario that happened when WH was initially released and it had the bug where Morrigan didn't recognize the Dark Ritual- you could still go through the Eluvian but Morrigan gave the Warden a hard time about denying her the Ritual, but still acknowledged the Warden's son.
I'll try and find a youtube video...
Edit: I couldn't find a video right now but mostly its this line thats different as she doesn't mention how the normal child is a herald of things to come or how she needs to get more power to train the OGB. She just says the normal kid is healthy and safe:
