The point is not just saving the warden, but it is to eliminate the old god, which is impossible with the ritual, which has basically the opposite result..

Yeah I have no interest in eliminating the old god.  That was never the job anyone asked me to do and it's beside the point anyway, which is that it is impossible to save your warden without another's help.

Browsing on some music and I found this one, I think it truly goes with my beloved Sorceress of the Wilds.

tumblr_niws6cBaEN1s9f79po1_500.gif

After traveling to Victorian London, The Northern Realms and Afghanistan and Central Africa...'Tis time to go back to Thedas.

I have a few Morrigan's songs and soundtracks myself.  :)

So i was listening to STP the other day and I thought to myself "Yup" that's a witch hunt for you...The ring connection and epilogue mentions that she's thinking about you and my Mabari sense a disturbing in the force   when we're at Flemeth's hut at the very beginning of the dlc.

Or maybe it's just because I was browsing this thread when i was playing the track.

Also Rip Scott Weiland.

The Hero of Ferelden is a title that rings a little hollow if the archdemon was actually slain by someone else.

Whether it's the DR or US, I'd never allow another character do the Warden's job.

What? Ah
The warden defeated the blight and even reduced the archedemon health to 0 .
All that Alistair/Loghain did was just
finish someone who was defeated(which is nothing).
The title is well earned regardless of what you claim.
Don't hate me just because i didn't opted to be the puppet of someone else being them the wardens or the witches, none is allowed to use my char for their own gain.
The job was super well done, Flemeth failed, Morrigan failed i was not their pawn and i didnt even commited the suicide after i defeated the dragon
I dislike both the US and the DR fanclub as they are too me two endings that are extremely crazy and dangerous ,good only for story sake.
Hof is always HoF and is always earned

Heroes go into legend by slaying the mighty beast, nobody writes songs about those who kinda did it.

There is no inbetween with such things.

Loghain and Drakon and Shartan and Andraste clearly went to history because they slained a mighty beast...there are far more important things than slay beasts and beside i already said that both the Archdemon, the Architect, the mother , and all the others dragons went to the oblivion because of the HoF not because of someone else.
Last time i cheked Morrigan was completly wrong , since each person of Ferelden was licking the HoF feets and they didn't even cared for Alistair/Loghain since nobody know anything about the secret of the US so obviously for them Alistair and Loghain managed only to land the final blow to a beast that was already defeated by the hand of the warden no one know that they used their soul in the process.

To be entirely honest, the only reason I did the DR was because of the cutscene in Inquisition. No other scenario shows Morrigan's character growth in such a brilliant way or develops the relationship between her and Flemeth so well.

And i also had no interest in being the Morrigan obedient tool none is allowed to use my warden for their ends.
Also i do not save creatures of whom
Original identity and purpose still remain unknown..
is a matter of perspective to me i used Loghain as a tool in order to survive, that tool was aquired prior the battle as an extra resource.
I even defeated him in order to gain him and even saved him once so he just payed a debt

I didn't disliked any of the two versions, since each of them is peculiar and different.
The fade scene may had been more developed on that aspect for Morrigan (but again is always subjective).
In order to unlock it however i should have forced my warden to be their personal tool/enabler/pawn for their ritual(both Flemeth and Morrigan) and this would never happen as that character strongly dislike to be a pawn even if the price to pay was possibly death , the pride of the warden in my case was to high to force himself to submit in that way.
Not to mention all the others unresolved issue inherent the ritual..
What is an old god?
What are Flemeth's plans?
And without metagame things were even worse..
the sacrifice of Loghain at that point was the less risky option, without him or Alistair it would have been US for me as i have no problem in killing a character that will never reappear anymore in the franchise and have as end story a powerful US ending.

I love discussions about our great Queen Morrigu

Unfortunately the developers have not done her the justice she deserves. They keep focusing on other characters.

  1. We do not know how Morrigu came to become the 'High Priest' that she calls herself.
  2. We do not know what Morrigu knows about her 'sisters' like Yavana. Do they get along? Do they even know each other exist?
  3. We do not know if Morrigu is aware that her mother Flemeth is dead? Dis she even see the corpse?
  4. We do not know where Morrigu goes in between games? Is she hiding from Flemeth?
  5. Morrigu is constantly interested in power...why??
  6. They finished the entire Tresspasser without saying one word about Morrigu
  7. Morrigu loves Eluvians and devoted a lot of research into constructing one...now Solas has full control of the network and not a peep from Morrigu

The developers need to pay more attention and do her character justice

"(variation if romance with Morrigan is active)

Morrigan: The way you look at him so intently, so hungrily... one would think you have never seen a man before.

Leliana: Where I look is not your concern.

Morrigan: True enough. There is no way I can deny you this... but why would he choose you, when he could have me?

Leliana: You're confident for a woman raised in a swamp, far from anything remotely resembling civilization.

Morrigan: And maybe that is my appeal? A woman like you, why, he could find in any city in Thedas. You think you are cultured? Worldly?

Morrigan: Powdered, perfumed, you ooze elegance, but what man wants a woman who lies limp beneath him, frozen in place by the thought that she might ruin her hair?

Leliana: So you're saying you're wild and uninhibited? I suppose he must like your shrieking, you sound like a genlock being murdered—a sweet, sweet sound to a Grey Warden.
Leliana: You should try a little harder next time he takes you. I don't think they heard you in the Anderfels.

Morrigan: Tsk, tsk, Leliana. Watch your jealousy, or you'll give yourself wrinkles.

Leliana: Get away from me, or I shall have to take drastic measures.

Morrigan: Resorting to violence. And here I thought you were civilized."

...WOW.

This is true in my Male Cousland's case. He and my Male Lavellan are horrible men... After all, Cousland had a one night stand with an elven woman, had an affair  with Leliana (cause he could) and stayed romanced to Morrigan, his true love.

Perhaps, but it seems like a lot of fun. Those two actually compete for the Warden and there is one more party banter between them once you make your choice.

In my case I'm usually choosing the flirty responses with Leliana at first, never actually pursue the romance, but I find that doing that tends to be enough to get the two of them to have the jealous dialogue. In world it's that my Cousland is pretty much taken with Morrigan, but he doesn't realize that he's being flirty with Leliana, it'a a habit he hasn't realized he should turn off. So Leliana ends up falling for him as well.

Another Morrigan-Song (About the old celtic goddess of war, not the witch of the wilds) from the group Omnia - I find this song very fitting for our Morrigan nontheless, because it starts with a very light and sweet harp intro and becomes then faster and darker, which shows both sides of Morrigan, - and the lyrics could refer to the battle of Ostagar, when you first meet Morrigan and her mother.

I always found the name oddly fitting - Morrigan, the goddess, has two sides, a dark one (goddess of war) and a light one (the mother).

its so easy to get Leliana to accidentally fall in love with the Warden... though jealous Morrigan is a postive benefit from that.

Nice choice, Fylimar!  I think this one by Damh the Bard is a good fit too, since the lyrics could refer to any one of the dark and mysterious places we encounter, although it's especially fitting for the ruin she first appears in:

springacres: That's a beautiful song - very powerful. And I'm sure,  I know the male singer from somewhere.

Edit: After visiting the Homepage of Damh the Bard, I'm pretty sure, he played at a festival, I visited and I'm pretty sure, it was the Wave Gothik Treffen in Leipzig, Germany, because they have a stage, where just Pagan Folk bands play for three days - yay   - and to stay on topic: I'm pretty sure, Morrigan would approve

I always romanced both to get the awesome banter, but then I always had to stick with Morrigan. She just simply takes the cake with her personality. Also Leliana´s religious fervor was a major minus.

I hadn't realized you could start Morrigan's romance so quickly.

Ask her a question for the first time >>> say "you can probe me anytime >>> Kiss option is available.

So I'd like some advice here. At what point in the game would it be better to do this? I mean, so that it won't seem unrealistic and too fast.

Well, in my playthroughs it's hilarious because I always end up triggering her romance in lothering and then give her the alistair voodoo doll so I'm well past the threshold for approval and suddenly right in camp after Lothering she's throwing herself at my Warden. That's way too soon I'd say, but it's still funny. Especially when I triggered the "Mr Let's Make Kissy Faces" dialogue while still in Lothering. Hold on Alistair, we've only just met her!

I'd say try to wait to trigger the romance until you've done at least one quest, whether Redcliffe or one of the others, that way you can say that the Warden's actions impressed her into wanting to start the romance. You could probably wait until later, but I do enjoy that Morrigan's romance starts so fast when you consider how she starts it off purely physical and doesn't get emotionally attached until later. With Alistair and Leliana it's emotional bonding first, then physical, so waiting to start their romance till later makes sense.

Usually for my play throughs its Redcliffe first... which leads to the Mage's Tower. After finishing the Tower, back at camp I give her the grimoire, depending on your approval at that point, if i recall correctly, its usually either its cold in my tent, or she eventually asks for your help with Flemeth. I actually prefer her asking for help first, the times she sleeps with the Warden first, it seems like she's just doing it to get to Flemeth.

I could use the main quests as a reference for the passing of time, but actually taking Morrigan with me? lol, no way. She always wants you to be merciless.

Disapproval guaranteed.

It's a conundrum, on the one hand she always disapproves of everything. On the other hand, her dialogue during quests is always hilarious.

And yeah, I agree, post Mage's Tower is probably the best timeline wise.
