I like Morrigan as a character a lot but I have a few doubts about the red flags concerning her.

Something that i have never understood was the reason that brought Morrigan to throw that sad line to the Warden when she is in romance status and the ritual is refused ,which is basically she who wish for the Warden in case of survival ,only regret.
Not only she is leaving right there the man that she love and who helped her with Flemeth(whom life is very much in danger now also because she will not help) but she also abandon him with those words who are an indicator of the fact that she do not care for his life but only for the archdemon soul.

Having recently completed my first DA:I playthrough (city elf, romanced Morrigan, followed her through the eluvian), I must say... I was worried for a while there! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time at the elven temple. Morrigan was like "I will accept whatever price.." and I was metagaming like hell. "Oh NO you don't! You have to live and reunite with the Hero of Ferelden!" I was ready to throw my inquisitor to the wolves, lol.

Morrigan is assuming the Warden will die if they refuse the ritual.  It's going to be the Warden who strikes that final blow because it has been the Warden who has ended up doing just about everything all along.  So if she stays, all she gets is to see the body.

It's interesting that a first impression is such a big deal for Morrigan.

I believe that her opinion of Alistair simply comes from his display of distrust of magic in their first meeting and that one line where he stuttered. "Sneaky... witch thief!".

He never did embarrass himself in front of her again after that, but it was enough for him to be forever marked as the stupid templar.

This is the same explanation she gave in WH however i find that to be not well explanatory, because it doesn't fit with what she said.
If the ritual is refused Morrigan said  to the warden  that in any case even if her lover will survive she hope for his best regret and that speech was full of disdain.
This to me is clearly a big red flag for the Morrigan romance and shift my belief that she cared so long that the warden was her obedient tool.

Cullen must've gotten the same treatment.... Lol.

He actually did. Cullen says Morrigan offered to explain the eluvian to him in words with less than four syllabes.

Also, quit meddling with my spacing choices.

Well, I'm sorry my IPad automatically displaces your spacing choices.

I'm one of those that can't see the romantic appeal of Alistair. He's so naive and innocent that I can only think of him as a little brother, not a potential love interest. Maybe that's just me tho.

I'm one of those that can enjoy Alistairs romance as there's nobody else I'm really invested in, as a female I mean. As a guy Morrigan is the lady to go, lol.

What fate do you guys prefer for Morrigan's character when it comes to the Well of Sorrows?

I wish I could remove the option to romance Leliana in DAO so we could do it in DAI.

Fearsome and mysterious spymaster >>>> Fluffy Chantry girl.

I let her drink. Makes the Flemeth scene more intense and Morrigan more integral to defeating Corypheus. And of course it gives her the dragon form, which makes her even more badass than she was before.

I let Morrigan drink. My Inquisitor was wise enough to understand that knowledge has a cost and in this case, the cost (one's freedom of self) is too high. Morrigan didn't and she was very eager to drink from the Well so he let her.

Same here. That is a lesson Morrigan needed to learn the hard way.

As I said on this very page ^ ... Hell no, as one who romanced Morrigan. I didn't know what "price" she was willing to pay, but I was not about to let her kill herself and ruin the romance for my favorite Warden. Even metagaming, I still wouldn't, despite

I find it very poetic to have her eternally bound to the mother she hates so much.

Morrigan really is kind of just cruel... like... not in a good way a lot of the time.

She is surprisingly polite towards the Warden, though. Even without romancing or high approval.

And yet, you get her personality being much more mellow and less randomly cruel in Inquisition, mostly if romanced, which lends credence to the "complex inner personality" and less to the "she's just a jerk".

And again, it's been said multiple times on this page, you gotta take everything about her into consideration, not just the surface value.

Not to mention, and this is nothing against any of the other characters, but they're all pretty jerky towards her as well, based entirely on their surface judgement of her. And it's not just "Oh they're saying mean things", let's not forget Alistair going completely overboard when she taunts him about him breaking up with a female warden. Sure she's being a jerk, but he's not exactly Saint Ali when he threatens to run her through with a sword over it. You can't just say "She's a jerk" and then ignore all the others flaws as well.

All these characters are meant to be enjoyed for all their facets, not just what you get on the surface, so why just categorize any of them based on what you see on the surface? Not to mention, some of us enjoy the mean comments. They're funny.

I'm just tired of dealing with mega-Tsunderes where you never get to the inner core part, how am I know there is even a difference between them and just a regular old jerk?

I agree in the case of Morrigan there is more complexity though.

It is because of the tsundere aspect that I decided not to romance Isabela in DA2.

I had already done the "cynical woman doesn't believe in love" shtick with Morrigan, so why bother?
