E3 is only about one month away! While the show itself doesn't start until June 15th, I think EA is having their presentation on the 14th, so hopefully we get something DA related then.

It sucks though- I would love to get Red Dead Redemption but its not coming out on PC!! I'm looking forward to Arkham Asylum 2 , Dead Space 2, Portal 2, Starcraft 2 New Vegas...even though Dead Space 2 isn't coming out until early next year...

Wait... did they actually confirm a date for Arkham Asylum 2? The line up is even greater than I thought. I absolutely loved AA1. Amazing game.

I'm hoping Bioware will give us some more DLC's like Return to Ostagar or Warden's Keep.

I really want to take my favorite Warden and his companions to new places and learn more about Thedas.

Exploring lost thaigs in Deep Roads, investigating Tevintar ruins in Bracillien Forrest... plenty of things that might make for a nice little side adventure in Origins.

Instead we get the Darkspawn Chronicles. *SIGH*

Fallout 3 GOTY was such a disappointment- unplayable, basically- that it ruined the experience for us. I still have hopes for New Vegas.

I don't think they've confirmed a date yet for AA2 but I recall reading not too long ago how some voice actors let loose that they were going to be recording for it soon (for Mr. Freeze and Talia al Ghul). Seeing as VA is usually one of the last things they do in development, maybe it will come out later this year? Seems pretty quick, but they have already released that trailer and everything...

Does anyone else feel like this waiting is killing them?

E3 is so near yet so far...

I'm hungry for more Dragon Age yet can't bring myself to replay Origins for the 10th time. Guees I better switch to Mass Effect 2 once again.

Meeeh, my gaming computer is currently suffering the 'Black Screen of Death' after a Windows Update, so I haven't been able to play any Bioware in over a week. So I'm staring at Nexus looking at all the mods and figure I'll give it one more run-through completely kitted out when it comes out to hold me over, it seems like it'll feel different enough to not be 'another playthrough' yet similar enough it's not so alien I won't enjoy it. DA Redesigned is one I really want to try out, and the additional spells to Arcane Warriors letting them actually buy warrior weapon skills looks like it could be a fun-arse combo. Plus, I've never played a Rogue past like 14, maybe I'll max DEX and EVA and be super like you guys, hah.

OTOH, I fired up Arcanum on this computer and it's been a fun diversion. Elephant Pistol, Steam-Plate Armor, and Time Magic? John Woo all up on those primiative orcs!

I'm hoping Bioware will give us some more DLC's like Return to Ostagar
or Warden's Keep.

Yeah, I actually really liked those DLCs. Rather short, but together they cost me the same as a movie ticket and I got just as much time and (usually) more enjoyment out of them. Sending Calian off was epic, and the new items and plot hooks/resolutions were worth it. I said it before, they had SO many awesome options to actually INTEGRATE (Big letters means I r important, lissen up) into the campaign, and they give us this crap. Imagine:

*Darkspawn 'Origin': Actually be the leader of the team who finds and wakes up the Old God. Actually see the process, learn a little more history, fight off legion of the dead and deepstalkers and golems as you tunnel deeper, then probably get made a snack when Ol' Beasty wakes up.

*Lothering: If your going to have a Kill All Humans RTS romp, why not use this? If you abandonded Sten or Chantry-Girl in your save, this lets you close the story down in a legit way. Made those poison vials? Helped the villagers afford cheap wares and food? Ran off those armed and armored men on the roadways with barricades set up? Set traps for the girl? Hah, just shot yourself in the foot, enjoy!

I mean, that's just two ideas and none of them seem hard. Denerim RTS just seems...meh to me. I wish anyone who buys it the best, but it just doesn't psych me at all.

I really want to take my favorite Warden and his companions to new
places and learn more about Thedas.

I've always been really interested in Dragons Peak, south of Denerim. What is that? I might have missed it in a Codex or a Dialogue snippet (I usually only reeeeally pay attention if it's to do with Fade, Abominations, and Morrigan) but I'd like to go there.

I thought MS was a definition for a
female character that is written by the author to be unrealistic and
untouchable *cough DR cough*

Ah, no. But I do know what your talking about. I can't remember the name off the top of my head, but it really picked up steam with the writings of Tolkien. I think it had something about the Virgin Mary in it, like VM Complex or something, so I could see where the snafu would happen.

With the Awakening epilogue they practicaly want us to find her.

That makes two of us, m'friend. (I hope I get to blow up Chantry people trying to kill my kid. I hope I get to blow up Chantry people trying to kill my kid)

Obsidian is handling Vegas and supposedly they're using Bethesda's
engine (last I heard) so it should result in a better game than FO3
since the one thing Beth lacks are decent writers.

Eeeew, Obsidian. Just when I thought it might be playable.

He's got some good news for us Morri fans. Said he'll post a few
screenshots tomorrow.

Rah, do tell!

And as a side note, I saw the conversation about how the DR was 'intended' and was hacked down, can I take it that those sound files never made it into the game? Or was it just at the storyboard stage and they had to scrap it? I really want to see HOW it was supposed to go down, and Aimo's comic (nice as it is) is set up in the light of doing a horrible thing to help out her friend who happens to be a girl. I want to see what the romance angle was supposed to be like.

Sadly it was storyboard stage that never make it to voice acting part.

From what Gaider says the idea kissed the cutting room floor quite early due to lack of time.

That was the reason he did that Revelation comic with Aimo. Quite undestandable as well. If I were in his shoes I'd hate seeing my ideas cut out, especially if they're important for understanding characters and their feelings/motivations.

I'm not spending any more of my money on DA DLC. They should patch their damn game first  before they try to sell me crap like Darkspawn Chronicles.... lol

DA fans want to play with their PC and meet with their companions again. And what do they give us? A DLC where you can play as darkspawn and kill them off. Yeah... everyone in this thread is gonna  buy the DLC ... right? [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie]

No missing sound files or cinematics as far as I know. It's just a vision that Gaider had that was never realized due to limitations and cuts.

EDIT: Formatting.... again

I won't argue with that. I love that game to bits. It's a bit outdated now though, so I might go to FO3 to try all the mods I missed(got it on release so I missed pretty much all of them).

The dark brotherhood quest is the reason why I love rogues and assassins so much. I play them in every game I can just because of that. Wicked eh?

Oh.. yeah and the adoring fan is the reason why I hate children..

Oblivion was awesome... but I had a super playthrough where I literally did nearly every single quest, and then ended it when i sat my character down on the throne of madness.

I don't think I can go back. It'd be an insult to that playthrough.

The Dark Brotherhood was indeed a great quest chain, but like the Thieves, Mages and Fighter's guild, I wish there was more to do when you finally reached the rank of master , going to collect money every month was hardly what I had in mind :(. Although, reaching Master of the mages guild was without a doubt the funnest of all - creating spells with the max damage radius was like watching a nuclear bomb go off (especially with a fire spell).

I did actually prefer Elder Scrolls 3 however, the storyline was way more interesting and there seemed to be more 'secrets' which was more exciting, like the underwater cave with a lockbox which required a max lockpicking skill that contained the insane enchanted dagger (Forgot the name :P). Not to mention the Fire + Ice sword you got from Mournhold, EPIC!

*Ehem* Straying off topic. BRING BACK THE WARDEN AND MORRIGAN.

Someone mentioned CD Projekt earlier in the discussion and how they spent several months after The Witcher's release fixing a plethora of issues and expanding it to be the game they originally envisioned. Tbh, it'd be nice if Bioware was currently doing the same, instead time is spent on creating cone collars for the dog & "gotta kill em all" modules that don't play to the game's strengths... If some of this time was invested into the core game we could have the DR restored to what was originally intended - that I would happily pay for.

I did like Wardens Keep though, but again, why go to the trouble reclaiming it if your set up shop in the snow *outside* the building you just liberated...

What was that quest for the assassins guild where you're locked inside that house and you have to kill them off one by one - can't remember the name but it was pretty damn fun :) Morrowind (plus the expansions) is probably the stronger of the two titles though, its a shame the graphics haven't aged well. I did love the random encounters and the country-wide chases when one of the imperial guardsmen spotted you too :)

Re: Catfight & jealousy Banters -

There are a couple of issues that are keeping these banters from triggering, as per usual I needed to extend and complete some incomplete scripts to get it working, Here's some preview screens captured in the default testing area for firing banters. Hopefully I should have the entire set of banters working by tomorrow.

Here's the full banter restored to the game for anyone who's interested and console owners. I'll work through the rest of the banters tomorrow to ensure they're all working:

Yeah, the sad thing is I would gladly pay $$$ to see some sort of enhanced edition or director's cut, whatever Bioware wants to call it of Origins with the restored content and stuff they originally intended. It'll likely never happen but what CD Projekt did with the Witcher was pretty awesome.

Can't wait to try them out. Guess I better start a new char again and get to romancing both Morri and Leliana.

Btw, Witcher 2 is bound to come out in february 2011, so I guess DA2 will have worthy competition.

Oh, I'll definitely get DA2 unless it turn out to be something uterly boring or a truly bad game (which I've yet to experience from Bioware).

I'm too much of a Bioware fanatic to ignore their products, even if I wanted to.

And Dragon Age got me hooked in a way I haven't experienced since BG series.

Ok, so in effort to get this discusion back on topic:

Suppose we do see a reunion between Morrigan and the Warden in the future, how do you think their story would end and why?
Do you see a tragedy with one or both of them dying? Some sort of limited happines? Would they realize that their relationship wouldn't last and part ways for good?

Personally, I would love to see a similar ending like we had with Viconia in BG2, with Morri and Warden staying together for a time until he leaves for his Calling. A bittersweet, but satisfying end.
Failling that an end that sees Warden sacrifice himself for Morri would also be fulfilling.

I didn’t play BG but I know how the romance with Viconia ends. If something like that would happen to my Warden... I'd be pleased with it. That would be an ending that provides closure.

My 2 pennies.

For me it's just about what i will accept and not accept and what falls between.

1) Zero closure for my Warden and Morrigan would be totally un-acceptable and would result in me boycotting Bioware products......until i really wanted one that is:)

2) My Warden finding Morrigan and she totally spurns him or playing as a different Warden or character finding Morrigan would be just barely acceptable. though would probably result in a combination of rage and sadness and perhaps a near boycott-pretty much see point 1

3) My warden finds Morrigan and she is both happy and sad and perhaps a bit ticked to see him as she is bound to or struggling with her "mission".This is what i most expect, and i believe will be the easiest to stay in accordance with "dark fantasy".This kind of scenario i think would also lend itself to either a bittersweet ending for Morrigan and my Warden or perhaps some kind of sacrifice by my Warden to "save" Morrigan( I am basically echoing Master Shiori's thoughts here).Very acceptable, although sad :(

4) My Warden finds Morrigan and we get a happy meeting and a happy ending, staying together.I do not expect this, but this would for me be much more preferable than situation 1 or 2.

Also to add, at this point having finshed both DAO and Awakenings, i am feeling ( and by extension my Warden) no.....allegiance?...kinship?...feelings for? my god baby with Morrigan. It is a point of curiosity only.I certainly do want to know whats up with the baby, and Morrigans plans. But seeing Morrigan and hopefully some scenario involving point 3 or 4 above are my main interest and would equal a definate sale for me from Bioware.

Also also to add, you guys and gals are some eloquent and intelligent peoples, i'm very impressed at the level in wich the majority of you are conducting yourselves on this forum. The fact that i've seen very little to no rabid fan-boy'ism and girl'ism is very refreshing.Kudos:)
