Why would you change it? If someone is greedy enough not to trigger the ultimatum speech or cheating to have both romances active then he deserves to get the wrong banter. HA!

True enough, users of mods like polygamey will be missing out these nice new banters altogether, which is somewhat amusing :)

I don't really like how it works tbh.

If you're romancing both and you happen to choose Morrigan, the banter goes from "Morrigan you're a b!tch" to ""It's nice to see you two together."

It's something Bioware needs to look up for future games. Maybe they should have added a "leliana_hates_morrigan" flag that prevents that kind of banter from playing.

Just a thought.

Are you referring to a specific singular dialogue branch or speaking generally?

Generally speaking. I'm not suggesting fixes or anything. I just thought that a flag that determines the disposition of two of your party members would be a cool feature to have in the future.

Example

Leliana: Morrigan you're a ****... I will be forced to take drastic measures..

5 minutes later

Leliana: Ohh Morrigan, we should go shopping together... Ohhh don't you love shoes?....

Terribly paraphrazed but you get my point I hope.

Hmm, maybe Alistair really was onto something when he claimed Leliana was nuts... :?

That was the reason he did that Revelation comic with Aimo. Quite undestandable as well. If I were in his shoes I'd hate seeing my ideas cut out, especially if they're important for understanding characters and their feelings/motivations.

I kind of wish they'd had the sense to do it from the perspective of a male character in a relationship with Morrigan... instead we just got more Alistair and Brown Dwarf Warden.

Does anyone remember if the Ash Warrior Commander when telling his tale calls the Chasind lover Morrigan? If so then another Morrigan was there.

It was Morrighan'an (very similar), but was a Avvar iirc not a Chasind. Crap, bad thought. The Avvar came from the Frostback mountain's, didn't they? I'm just not built for how many conspiracy theories this damn ending can bring up, heh.

Good catch.

The other 'Morrigan' your talking about probably comes from Zevran's conversation, but he didn't mean that as in 'another Witch of the Wild named Morrigan' but more along the lines of questioning if it was another daughter of Flemeth's.

One of the devs confirmed it was a coincidence.

I f I recall, the name of the woman in that story was like Morighan'nan or something similar but not quite Morrigan. I remember this being brought up shortly after the game was released and Gaider basically said it was a coincidence.
Of course this is Gaider we're talking about, so take that with a grain of salt...

Yeah, Zevran just mentions that there are stories of another Witch of the WIlds in Antiva. Might be interesting if Morrigan had a sister up there....

Flemeth's whole cryptic spiel about doing the dance many times would make me think so.

And thanks you two on the catch with Not-Quite-Morrigan. I would have been reading up on the Avvar in no time most likely, heh.

Finally finished fixing all these banters. Every banter blademaster mentioned earlier in the thread is now accessible in game and triggering correctly, I've also made a whole host of fixes to Morri & Leli's confrontation scenes. Additionally I've restored the Alistair - Morrigan banter when Ali breaks up with a female warden, which I shall leave as a parting gift (time for sleep). I'll upload version 1.0.10 tomorrow so people can access this stuff in-game themselves:

Oh no!  I feel sad just watching it.  :?  That PC actually did break up with him at one point.  I'm glad I didn't hear that in-game.  It would have made my HNF pretty angry at Morrigan.

Edit:  I'm glad you fixed it, though!  It's still better to have things in there that are supposed to be in there.

Great. Have you decided what to do with that hidden(literally) line during the DR?

Nice new avi Addai.

I don't understand why you'd be angry at Morri though. She simply asked Alistair a question and didn't seem to be teasing him about it.
I can see it is a sensitive subject for him but did he really need to make a outburst like that? He could have simply refused to talk about it... :?

I did find out what spirit is with Wynne . It is the spirit of faith according to the DAOA guide .

At least now we know three good spirits. Valor, Justice and Faith.

I have a very quick Biology question for you guys:

How does an male dwarf or elf get Morrigan pregnant? Since we never see any half-elves or half-dwarves, is it magic( a witch did it?) I would like to know.

A child with an elven and human parent is always a human. There are no half-elves in Thedas.

A child born to a dwarven and human parent will be a half-dwarf. The reason there are no half-dwarves around in DA:O is because Bioware never created a suitable model to represent them.

So, yes, a dwarf or an elf could get Morrigan pregnant just as easily as a human could.

I'll probably put it in the next version, unless someone raises an objection.

v1.0.10 of the restoration patch is available on the nexus now. The bioware project site is lagging like crazy for me atm, so that will be updated later.

v1.0.10 includes all those nice new banters, so enjoy :)

Thanks.  I'm on an elf kick.

My female PCs all befriend Morrigan, and that's a pretty insensitive way to bring up a painful topic.  And then to hector Alistair about it after he clearly doesn't want to talk about it (as he wouldn't ever, with someone he hates as much as Morrigan).  It is IC for Morrigan, however.  As she tells you, she doesn't know the first thing about being a friend.  Same with how she says, as she and Alistair are about to go off and do the dirty, "you will not hate this half so much as you believe."  With a smile on her face.  I've had to defend Morrigan to other Alistair fans, but if she is your PC's friend and knows you are in a relationship, saying something like that as she's about to have sex with your boyfriend is... insensitive, to say the least.  But again, I think it is Morrigan's lack of people skills showing.  I imagine she thinks she's being reassuring.

That was my guess as well.

The comic David Gaider and Aimo did clearly shows she is torn about having to bed her friends lover in order save her life, so her commnet to Alistair about their impending lovemaking seems rather ooc.
As you said, Morri's lack of people skills is quite obvious at times, especially when it makes her seem insensitive without it being intentional.

Thats one of the aspects thats neat about Morrigan's character- she is basically a really well read individual and quite intelligent and knowledgable, yet she is a total noob when it comes to basic social skills and life experiences. Which makes her quite awkward at times, really. Makes me wonder though how she would insinuate herself in the court of Orlais having such aversion to social graces.

The comic adds so much background to that scene.  I really don't understand why they cut it.

Over in the Alistair thread, people were talking about a VO note that says "Flemeth knows that Morrigan has lied to the PC."  This is a note in the conversation when you go to kill Flemeth.  What do you make of it?  In context it sounds like it means that Morrigan is lying about Flemeth's intent to possess Morrigan, though the lie could also refer to what the PC has been told about Morrigan's reason for wanting to go along.

Very interesting stuff. Just checked it out in the toolset myself. Hmmmmm.... Well if Morrigan is actually lying about the whole body snatching thing, that certainly puts her in a different light  then, eh? I don't know how much we should buy into the VA notes but thats a neat find nevertheless.

Wow, I'm looking through the VA notes and while its nothing we haven't really figured out before, its neat to read some of them

Edit: Oh man, I'm reading through the VA notes and its nothing ground breaking, but Morrigan clearly has *maybe* evil plans for the OGB? She is definitely leaving out big details about her plans (like we didn't know that already though)...The notes at least make it clear that Morrigan is compelled to do the Ritual for some big reason despite her loving the Warden.

Not sure what to make of that.

Judging from Flemeth's reaction when pc confronts her, I'd say she isn't really worried about the possibility of dying. Maybe Morrigan's claim that Flemeth would eventualy find a new body is true?
I got the impression that Morrigan wasn't telling me the whole truth when Flemeth decided to be enigmatic and not reveal what she meant by "Lovely Morrigan has at last found someone to dance to her tune" and "Oh, but it is an old tale. One that Flemeth has heard before and even told".

Makes you wonder what exactly was in that real grimoire?
My guess is that Flemeth didn't really plan on possessing Morrigan. She probably told Morrigan how to conduct the DR but didn't reveal everything about what comes after or details about the god child. Morrigan knew this information was written in one of Flemeth's grimoires and wanted to find it. So she had the pc first locate the book in the Circle Tower and, after realizing the information she sought wasn't in there, had him go kill Flemeth and retrieve the other book which Morrigan knew Flemeth kept in her hut.
It is from this "real" grimoire that Morrigan find the information she sought.
The whole body snatching may have been just an excuse to make the pc rise in her defense.

After all: "Men are always willing to believe 2 things about a woman: that she is weak and that she finds him attractive".
That Morrigan eventualy fell in love with the Warden isn't in question. She may have simply used his affection at one point to get what she wants, by making him believe the woman he loves is in danger...
