It's been mentioned in other parts, but if you complete the main quests, with the deep roads part last you can't put Sigrun through the joining if you complete the quest before you go to vigils. The dude will talk about starting a war as opposed to having Sigrun go through the joining. I believe this might be the same case for Velanna if you do her quest last as well.
