Mary Sues can also simply be characters favored by the author who have unrealistically fantastic traits (e.g. "you can't kill Morrigan! She'd turn into a griffon and fly away! Muahaha!") or don't suffer the consequences of their actions, etc.
In this case, Morrigan does a dark and dirty deed and gets off scott free. Whether this'll change in a sequel I can't predict, but I have the feeling it won't.
That's a bit silly. Escaping punishment is not grounds for labeling one a mary sue and as a shapeshifter, um yeah that point is totally valid (a Griffon would be a bit much but you're the one who used that example - a crow or raven would be more likely) . Mary Sue-ing her would be to say "Oh no, Morrigan is oh so powerful she would laugh off all of your attacks." But being sly and quick is completely in line with Morrigan's characters/abilities.
