since the EA customer support ist unable to forward a simple savegame, and apparently is also unable to get in contact with you, I will just copy paste the whole thread into the forum, just as this Vincent guy asked me.
The order is reversed, most recent replies are ontop (thats how the customer support system works *shrug*).
If you need the savegame, let me know where to send it.

Update:
I managed to install 1.02a now, by starting Windows in safe mode.
I can enter the Village Of Haven just fine in 1.02a.
I am very assured that the crash is related to 1.03.
If it can be reproduced by Bioware's internal QA with the savegame I supplied, then maybe I just helped you get rid of another crash bug
Cheers

Alright, I re installed the game, but now I cannot patch it anymore. The patcher says: Error 36.
I googled a bit, and found some solutions, like clearing TEMP dir and other things, but it still wont let me patch.
So I loaded the savegame without patch (force load) and I can enter the village of have just fine. I think the crash is related to patch 1.03 but I cannot prove it, as I cannot install the patch anymore (which also means I cannot use the return to ostagar DLC).

Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to contact us regarding your Dragon Age: Origins purchase. It is always a pleasure to assist our customers in any way that we can.
We are really sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.
- What have you done so far to try to solve the issue?
- Do you get any error messages? If yes, what is the exact error message?
Please accomplish the following before launching the game:
1. Empty your Temp folder to prevent file conflicts. Click the below given link for steps on emptying your Temp folder:
http://support.ea.co...p?p_faqid=10705
2. Please end all background tasks to prevent conflicts with other programs. Click below given link for steps on ending background tasks:

In order to best troubleshoot your issue, I'm going to need additional system information. Please send me this information from a program called dxdiag.exe. To do this:
· Go to Start -> Run.
· In the box, type the following: dxdiag
· Click "OK"
· Click the "Save All Information" button on the first screen of the application.
· Then on top of the "Save As" box that pops up, select Desktop (if it's not set to save there already), then click Save.
· Finally, attach the dxdiag.txt to your email reply.
If you have Windows Vista, follow these steps:
1. Right click on the menu bar and select Properties.
2. Click on the Start Menu tab.
3. Click on the Customize button.
4. In the upper window scroll down until you see Run command.
5. Click this check box and click Ok.
6. Click Start.
7. Click Run.
8. Type dxdiag in the available text field, and press OK.
* This will bring up the DirectX Diagnostic tool, which will give you a comprehensive report of the hardware in your computer.
After we receive this file we can continue troubleshooting the issues at hand and hopefully come to a solution.
If there is anything else we can help you with please let us know. Additional support can be found on our help site located at http://dragonage.bioware.com/.
