I recently purchased pc version of game and it gets to the core.rar (98.4ish percent) then fails. any ideas what it could be?

Windows xp pro.
amd athlon 64
2.21 ghz
2 gigs of ram
512 video card

Try manually unraring the file from the DVD (or at least copying it). If it fails, try another DVD-reader. If it fails on both, you have a bad disc. If it fails on one, you have a bad DVD-reader.



Worst case you could aquire a disc-image on the world-wide-interwebs and install from that.

I tried to copy cd to a folder and run install there. All i get is a data error but it goes farther in the install process. I guess i try to find a disc-image and go from there.

It probably is not your disc, as several people that have had this problem have changed their disc and still got the data error when installing...
