setting a price of 40€ for Awakening as PSN Download and awaiting people to buy this piece of s***.
For 40€ i can buy a new retail game like GOWIII and guess what...i get the packaging, the booklet, a disc and the decision how to use my free hard drive space.
I'm done with Bug Age Origins and returning my copy today.
Instead of my hard earn money take this EA:

Unfortunately it seems they are serious. Though part of me is holding out hope that it's just another bug and hopefully one that will fix itself in 24 hours like the other PSN bug this month

My other disapointments are :

Where are the dialogs between characters?

Where are the emotions?

Where is romance?

Where are all my old companions?

Alistair and Wynne are only doing a small apparition...!!

You don't even hear of you other friends that stayed with you at the end of DAO :(

I'm disapointed cause of all this and i begin to regret my purchase...

What i loved the most in DAO is the story between characters and i think it is what is missing THE MOST in Awakening.

Alistair was my character lover, as an elf i didn't put him on the throne to stay with him as a Grey Warden, and i dont even see him once!! You only see him 2 minutes if he is the King!

Oh, otherwise, the game is nice but really too short for the price.

I hope the next eps or dlcs will be more like the original game, with dialogs, emotions, romance etc. etc.!

DAO is the best game i ever played, please Bioware, make that fun

continue! Its not the case with Awakening :(

The mods have spent the last two days deleting the thousands of posts moaning about the price. This one won't last long either.

It's a pity, I really wanted it too....but I'm not going to bend over and get arse raped by EA

After releasing patch /if it will be patch, of course/ this expansion pack will be worth maybe a half of current price, but no more...

I'd rather let a goat spit in my face for 40€ than to support the crack-cocaine and tranny hooker habit of some EA employees.

Hah Hah,

And why exactly are you here? Shouldn't you be out trying to make some money so you can afford a valid opinion?

... And you haven't bought Awakenings either. You may not be a sheep, but you are most certainly a troll.

Your point was what again?

Ps: Awakenings is not that Baa-aaad.

GOW3 is $60 not $40.

I am enjoying the heck out of the game.

BTW, I don't know of a single PS3 game I have ever bought off of PSN that was discounted because it was downloaded.

vonFurious' definition of a troll:

Dissatisfied customer and owner of DAO PS3 copy expressing opinion on newly released Expansion in "drastic" words in official forums

So i need to buy Awakenings first to post my opinion on pricing and customer support?

If you had any valid points at all you wouldn't be posting cute little curses in all your posts.

You complain about the price of Awakenings. You somehow link its cost to the procuring Hookers and Crack cocaine. You have a grand total investment of Zero in the product. You don't own it. You haven't played it.

You base your opinion on flames on the internet as to its value. You consistently offer unqualified opinion based upon nothing more substantial than your emotions (starting flame threads, adding to flame threads) in more than a few locations. You ask no questions about the product and offer no insight as to your definition of "value".

Who's the wooly one?

Ok for the slow ones:

It's called EXPANSION because its supposed to expand the fun you had with the basic product which gets expanded? you follow?

If the base product is flawed in many ways and there has been no afford to eliminate those flaws these flaws carry on into the expansion. (stealing bug, frame rate issue, dex-cun story, ...)

When on top of that the expansion is only available trough download (EU) at a price 2*more than the disc version for pc i'd call that a deal breaker.

So why do i have to buy it again to post here wooly one?

Jumping in -

If Roger Ebert openly said in his reviews that he hadn't seen the movies in question, but that he'd gone to the theater and thought the ticket prices were too high and besides he heard that a car drives through the back of a scene that's supposed to be in set in, like, 1800 or something...

Oh i forgot that expansions to new movies run on the same game engine and that i was submitting a review for helping people in the decision of buying the product at hand or not.
now i feel ashamed, thanks for correcting me, so we can develop in a fruitful dialog

another nice definition from one of the mods:

Complaining about complaint threads is spam. Thank you.

End of line.

- You are complaining about the price on release day. Release price points are always higher than they will be. Buying a game upon release is a choice, not a right. Download-only for Europe is a bummer in that you won't be able to sell/ trade/ buy used, but that's EA's point.

- You are complaining about known issues with the original product. If they prevent you from purchasing the expansion, then you are fortunate to know what you are getting. (IMHO If they had not improved the framerate, I would not have purchased this product. As far as the various Rogue bugs go, not every pocket has something to pick (sounds like a familiar situation for you, eh?) Can you even explain what the DEX bug is? It DOES exist, but I'm curious if most even know what it really does).

- Believe it or not, I agree that the game lacks polish. There are too many bugs for a AAA title. They better fix what they can, and I hope support improves. I was furious about various issues with Origins, esp. the jaggy framerate. But I took a long look at what I was giving vs. what I was getting from this franchise. 80+ hours on multiple playthroughs, DLC I could choose to take or leave (I took and I don't regret it), and a robust expansion approximately 4 months after the original's release. Approximately 300/hours for just over $100 US Dollars.

Your tone and substance do not reflect any of these considerations. You are obviously unhappy with the Rogue (and its Rogue, not Rouge, you might want to spell check before you start threads, looks sloppy to others) so why not try another class? You use insult and profanity to illustrate very nearly every one of your points and come across as "Me-too!!! (sheep-like) when it comes to your complaints. That coupled with the fact you have indeed not played the Awakenings expansion makes me believe you sir are basing your opinions on that of others, rather than formulating your own.

Bah-Bah-Bah.

Umm just to point out. that the expack runs around 20 hours to do everything... where as Dragon Age Origins runs maybe 30 to do everything but usualy know more than 25 hours. DAO is 60$ for what amounts to be a few hours difference. So we are paying for a a game that is a bout 2 thirds the length of DAO... and guess what! We are paying two thirds the price for it. So this whole thing about how it is to expensive is quite hillarious. I mean its to scale content+time= price and whenever a new expansion pack comes out for any game its always going to be anywhere from 40- 60$... Why does everyone need to throw the whole woe is me and bioware is evil for charging the standard price for a product? I enjoy this game and think it was worth the cost.

I know the OP troll and any others whom find this fact to be wrong are going to flame me for this post but WTF cares. I dont need to try to start a mommy please pay attention to me thread because im lonely.

Gulthuk:

If you got through DAO in 30 hours, then you missed two-thirds (or more) of the content. On my first playthrough, it took me 120 hours to do everything I wanted to do, including the downloadable content. Then again, I'm a perfectionist when it comes to exploring ... still, even if you're not a perfectionist, beating DAO in 30 hours simply means you're robbing yourself of content and immersion.

Heh. I can totally understand blasting through a shooter-type game in 10 to 30 hours maximum — after all, I'm a Resistance 1, Resistance 2, Killzone 2, Battlefield: Bad Company and MAG veteran — but an RPG, to me, requires more time to fully enjoy what it offers.

Do people who report sub-30 hour playthroughs of Origins play on Normal or any other higher difficulty?

Do they craft anything (potions/ traps/ weapons)? Do they adjust tactics? Do they listen to the conversations? Do they explore/gather loot? This game can be played straight through without doing any of those things, sure. But what exactly are you looking for in an expansion game when so many features of the game are passed by?
