Did the same people that made Stalker create Metro 2033 or is it just a coincidence that both games are made by russians?
A few people that worked on the original Stalker, they started their own company. Appearances of these two games feel alike, but the game mechanics are completely different. Stalker is a sandbox/RPG-elements/shooter, Metro is a story-driven shooter where you can purchase weapons/ammo/equipment.
So is it in fact any good? Does there seem to be anything that triggers the crashes like running certain functions in the game (graphical settings, stuff like that) or are they just random? I'm curious because it's on my list of games to get, but if the bugs hurt the experience I'll wait and see if some patches clear things up.
I liked it. Not sure about the settings, I believe the game autodetects optimal settings for the system. I was running DX10, maxed out.
I also wasn't following what problems others are running into, but it appears that the issues are related to drivers/hardware and not the game itself.
