If all you want to do is alter the model and/or texture of an existing item, you don't need to do anything in the toolset (beyond using the GFF editor perhaps). If you want to create a new item, or radically alter the properties of an existing item, then you will need to generate new UTIs via the toolset.

As far as scripting goes, that's not my bag so someone else will have to pipe in about that, but my understanding is that the game files only have compiled scripts (NCS), no sources (NSS), and as far as I am aware there is no publicly available script decompiler, meaning altering vanilla Awakening scripts is presumably not possible. You can create new scripts however, the same as for Origins.

okay thanks a ton working on figuring that out but got a bigger problem now every time I start a new game in origins the only origin available is the awakening origin for some reason, any one know why this happened or how to undo it the only thing I can think of is I exported every erf file in the awakening folders, if that's it which ones should I not extract and which ones should I keep if I want the awakening models in my toolset?
