The argument is that people steal the game just so they dont have to deal with intrusive DRM. Pirates dont have to deal with needing constant internet connections, limited installs, requiring to have the cd in the tray, they can play the game freely.Busomjack wrote...
I don't know if I buy this argument that just because people break rules doesn't mean we shouldn't have rules at all.
It's like someone breaks into a bank so our solution is to remove all security systems because Hell! People are going to steal anyways, right?
Seems to me that the solution should be to make DRM less intrusive and to focus on incentives for players to buy the game such as DLC like with what EA does.
I don't believe in just letting the pirates win though. They're criminals and concessions to crime encourage more crime.

I'm going to say this for the matter of fact even if it gets me kicked. If I can't play my single player game when I'm offline. Well guess, What I'm going to hack it and then I will play it. Thank goodness for the mod community I love you very much!
You do realize that if you get banend from these forums that you will also lose your Cerberus network access thus barring you from all future DLC and the loss of any current DLC items?
BTW, reported.

No, he won't.
He will be barred from getting them retail/directly from Bioware itself.
He can still get them.

No, you cannot get DLC without a new retail copy of Mass Effect 2.
You're welcome to try and prove me wrong though. Please do in fact so I can report you.

There is... already a fix? WHERE?!?!??!!
@Busomjack
He is not discussing piracy, he mention a mod (aka player-made unofficial fix) for the bug that Bioware has already confirmed AS A BUG.

Its not piracy if I didn't steal anything and I'm not stealing anything. I'm just going to play my game. hmm. and that is just that. I support bioware and I think anyone who steals from them is a jerk and needs to get a life. I have paid for all my stuff and I plan on having an N7 tattoo put on my shoulder. I'm modding not pirating.

Yes, you can get DLC without a new retail copy of Mass Effect 2, and without an old one too. It's called Piracy. DLC comes in individual installations and can be pirated just as the game itself can.

I agree that there needs to be some check in place. However, there is a point where DRM becomes so inconvenient that it encourages piracy rather than hinders it.Busomjack wrote...

There are three things that discourage piracy (not completely) instead of the reverse::
1. Digital distributors (like Steam)
2. DownLoadable Content, or DLC
3. CD-Key based Multiplayer
Most games only need to use one or two or those options to encourage people to go and buy a new copy of the game. Game companies should assume by now that pirates will be able to hack just about anything, so introducing stricter DRM just means a nice challenge for them to handle (and a nice hassle for the actual consumer). What they need to focus on is making sure that most ordinary people won't pirate it.

People here are all registered, WTF are you on about Busomjack? Saying "I will report you?!" to people actually trying to help out those who are still waiting on the bug to be fixed.
Modding is piracy? Wow, thats f--king news. Sorry mate, but your attitude I consider very pathetic.
