Hey,

This is the start of the third thread on the investigation of the audio problems being reported on the Xbox 360 version of Mass Effect 2.

In the first thread, http://social.biowar...7/index/1501922, we asked for some general information about the kinds of bugs people were seeing and how customers were playing the game. From that, we learned that the most common problem was that audio was cutting out during the Samara / Morinth showdown. We also learned that the problem seems to occur regardless of whether the customer had installed the game to the Xbox 360 hard drive.

In the second thread, http://social.biowar...7/index/1772460, we asked for some more specific information from customers who were experiencing the audio cut-out problem during the Samara / Morinth showdown about any additional audio components they may be using. From that, we learned that the problem does not appear to be related to a specific audio configuration.

In this third thread, we’d like to ask for more details about how customers experiencing the audio cut-out during the Samara / Morinth showdown are playing the game. Specifically:

1. In which level / area of the game did you begin the play session when you encountered this problem?
2. How long had you been playing before this bug happened?
3. What were you doing prior to when this bug happened?
4. If you load a saved game right before this cut-scene, does the problem still occur?
5. If you adjust your turn the music, sound effects, and dialogue settings down to about 80% does the problem still occur? (Thanks to Pacifien for mentioning this in the first thread.)

As before, in order to provide maximum benefit to the programmers looking at this issue, please avoid unnecessary discussion in this thread and do not post comments about other problems. If we need more information we’ll either post a general request here, start a new thread, or PM specific individuals.

At this point, we can’t commit to a particular fix or ETA but we will do our best to keep you updated on our progress.

Again, I want to emphasize that we are continuing to investigate the problem and that your help and patience are very much appreciated.

Thanks!

Don M
