The audio cut out occurred on my second playthrough of the game and occured in the middle of the fight between Samara and Morinth. I'm now also encountering a sound glitch in the Purgatory prison ship mission where you run into a shotgun upgrade. When I pick up the upgrade, Shepard states how the prisoners were using modified rounds and how the Blue Suns guards didn't stand a chance, but now for some reason he does not say anything even though the subtitles clearly show he IS saying something.

This is probably just a fluke, but when I did a playthrough on insanity, it worked. The only other difference was that it was the first time i'd imported a ME2 game with a few differences, such as liara having been romanced, more sidequests done, those are the 2 big differences, i'd done that on ME1, then imported it into ME2, then when I imported that completed ME2 game, that was when the audio worked. The only difference to the game was that I was playing on insanity.

It happens to me on Samara's loyalty mission when Morinth says "I am the genetic desti-(cuts out)." But of course it also just happens at random times when people just don't finish their lines.

1. Lair of the Shadow Broker
2. Got to the flying car chase, then the audio died. TIMING.
3. Enjoying the action, then sighed in disappointment as I flew the whole chase like it was 1912 cinema.
4. Yes.
5. Nope.
Solution (of ALL things) was to play with the Guide button. COME ON Bioware! Polish these things!
DLC shouldn't mean Dodgy Loading Code.
(Presently posting this to HELP someone in my position. I have the game running. The audio drop took me from immersed to annoyed I bought the DLC.)

OK, once again, this is probably nothing, but I thought I may as well mention it. I mentioned before that the game played the samara/morinth audio when I did my insanity playthrough, well, since then, I've done 2 playthroughs, only one where I did this loyalty mission, the second of the 2, and on that playthrough, it also played fine. It wasn't importing the same game from ME1 that I was importing when it worked before, or that ME2 game, it was importing a different save game from ME1.

1. In which level / area of the game did you begin the play session when you encountered this problem?
One of the abandoned mine planet scanning mission. There were a bunch of husks and a big shiney ball that spawned them.... dont remember a specific name...
2. How long had you been playing before this bug happened?
2-3 hours
3. What were you doing prior to when this bug happened?
i had the game paused for about 2 minutes, then i came back. Jack threw shockwave, Grunt charged, and then the sound cut out
4. If you load a saved game right before this cut-scene, does the problem still occur?
yes
5. If you adjust your turn the music, sound effects, and dialogue settings down to about 80% does the problem still occur?
everything but diolauge was at 80%

I used to get this problem quite a bit. Whenever any number of explosions happened at once, especially the explosions caused by biotic effects, including those during the Samara, Morinth confrontation, the audio on my x-box would become crackled/distorted and then cut out for a few minutes. I fixed it by turning down the volume in the options menu to 70% for music/sfx/voice and attaching my xbox sound out to a cheap set of logitech computer speakers with an amp, so that I could boost the volume back to its normal levels. After setting the digital volume to 70, I haven't encountered this problem again.

It usually happens to me on Jack's recruitment mission where Shepard says a guard was swarmed by prisoners with improvised weapons.

I know this is resurrecting the very dead, but I was getting a lot of audio drop out on my Reach 360 during the car chase of Lair of the Shadow Broker. The dialogue was cutting out mid sentence but all the other sounds were still there.
And this just happened a couple of hours ago, since I'm going through it again to remind myself of everything with ME3 around the corner.

It was actually on my eight file that problem erupted on Samara´s loyalty mission, right today...
In this third thread, we’d like to ask for more details about how customers experiencing the audio cut-out during the Samara / Morinth showdown are playing the game. Specifically:
1. In which level / area of the game did you begin the play session when you encountered this problem?
The moment the biotic stand-off began, all ssound was gone.
2. How long had you been playing before this bug happened?
An hour,an hour and half at much...
3. What were you doing prior to when this bug happened?
The only time this happened was after the download of a 4 mb patch last week.
4. If you load a saved game right before this cut-scene, does the problem still occur?
Yes, reloaded 2 times after the first ocurrence and it continues. Will try with diferent saves.
5. If you adjust your turn the music, sound effects, and dialogue settings down to about 80% does the problem still occur? (Thanks to Pacifien for mentioning this in the first thread.)
Will try again with tip.
