Since my copy of Awakening has irritatingly not arrived yet, I turn to the forumites for my next question.

Essentially, what defines how many slots armour has in Awakening for Armour Runes? Is it like weapon runes in DA:O, where Silverite is two and Dragonbone three, or is it on an armour by armour basis? I've heard Diligence and Ancient Elven armour have them, but not how many, nor what anything else has...

Or, if someone has tried this, how many slots does the Silverite version of the Warden Commander armour have, if any (assuming you're running the mod and imported it)?

Yes, it does. I'd been wondering if Silverite armour has 2 rune slots just like silverite weapons, and it seems it does.

Now just hoping someone can tell me whether they've seen named armour that doesn't follow this pattern, or even if the Warden Commander armour has slots.

But much obliged B)

Yes.  I used wade's dragonbone armor and i got 3 slots.  Warden commander armor will not import.  I don't have the pc version so can't tell if your mods will help you there.

Judging by the wiki it looks like the material defines how many rune slots there are, just the same way it defines armour and fatigue levels. Cool.

If that's true then the Warden Commander armour should have 2 slots at Silverite level.

Don't worry so much about it. You'll be dumping it after the first hour probably.

Unlikely. The only massive armours I've seen aren't suitable for Arcane Warriors thanks to the obscene fatigue. And I really don't like the look of the Sentinel armour. I thought Garahel was an elf, not a Chaos Space Marine.

None of my imported armor has any rune slots, nor have I found any armor with rune slots. When I ask the enchantress at Vigil's Keep to enchant something, no armor is ever listed as an option. Any clue as to what might be amiss?

Fatigue isn't really important anymore for your arcane warrior if you get the focus talents because it will definitely make up for it. Also, the Armor of Hirol set has a set bonus that is -fatigue, making it almost as low as Cailan's armor set, just like 5% fatigue difference I believe.

Also, I do have to contradict-- Felon's Coat is still the best rogue armor in the game. Expansion included. And it has 3 rune slots, just fyi. =)

You are bugzored.  All of my armor showed up with slots from the get go.  My issue is that armor runes are not dropping at all.  So basically, to pimp your armor, you are going to have to craft the runes.  Problem with that is affording the tracings will take awhile to buy and by then you may be nearly done with the expansion... so this appears to be prep for next expansion or DLC's type activity.

I'm still bitter that I played through the first time on a rogue and missed this armor... (sigh)

There are rune spots? didn't know that...i beat the game as a dwarf with the legion of the dead armor. I was starting to question why armor in the game didn't have rune spots. But, apparently they do. ;|

Same here.  I kept wondering what the big deal was with all these new runes - they actually can be put on several of my *weapons*, oddly enough, but no armour I've found has had any slots at all.  Wonder how I can fix that.

That's definitely a bug.

I tried importing a character wearing Warden Commander armour and the chestplate has two slots, as expected.

The only issue is that he started wearing a Grey Warden mage robe. It looks rather snazzy, though, so not an issue :P
