So where do you guys think the story is headed? Is there another Dragon Age Expansion in the works before Dragon Age 2...

I'm sort of curious about that silver knight thing they spoke of in the epilogue. I don't know where else they could really go after Awakening with our current PCs. The endings sort of seem final to me.

Not going into spoilers, but I don't see why people think this way. Even if some years go by, I fail to see how the Warden's story is done...

I think there's definitely room for another expansion!

Without spoiling anything, the epilogue definitely gave the developers plenty of wiggle room to expand upon the existing content.

I hope that there will be one more expansion, or even two. Also it is desirable that it would be more like "Origins": more severe and bloody, because "Awakening" seems more softer, to me :_(

And in the second part it would be desirable to play for Morrigan's child(to be a dark God(may be even transform into a blood dragon))) ), instead of for our hero deprived of memory, weakened, or something like that.

(sorry for my bad English)

I guess it depends on what ending you get. Mine was a little strange.

Possible continuation:

a) On the look-out, new darkspawn threat. (IE Awakenings style)

B) Deep roads traveling, something going on.

c) Old god was found, stop the darkspawn from getting to it.

d) Morrigan's child is an old god, leads a new type of darkspawn threat

e) You travel to the main warden base, there are problems there

f) Darkspawn threat in another country/area

g) Qunari lands

Personally, I think the story is based around the Origins -> develop the story and characters -> Child with Morrigan (Main ending, the rest are just "side" endings to make you feel like you had a choice) -> DA2 Morrigans child is an old god, will have something to do with darkspawn, wether or not morrigan is involved with the kid I dont know, Morrigan/Child are part of dragon cult anyways so they will be involved -> DA3 Morrigans redemption/death -> The end.

Without going into detail, I thought the ending was a bit too abrupt. After defeating the final enemy it just entered into the epilogue? I felt that the least they could have done was to put a short cut scene like in origins. (Not that I'm complaining, Awakening was classic Dragon Age fun.) Oh yea, and they NEED to throw another expansion out; I feel like my character's story was forced to close and end. In my opinion, I would love for my character to continue his story, wherever it may lead him. (And hopefully the ending would have a little more closure for the PCs.) -Let's go, importing!!!

As far as I can see there are no spoilers, only speculation as to future games. Hardly spoilers.

There better be another game with my PC.  Give me some DLC at least, because the FHN ending didn't make any sense OR leave me feeling satisfied in the least.  <_<

I certainly hope there is a third expansion--and that it is to Awakening what Hordes of the Underdark was to Shadows of the Undrentide in the Neverwinter cycle, i.e., a chance for BioWare to redeem itself  for a weak and not terribly satisfying potboiler of a second chapter.   I played through Origins three times with different characters/classes.  Enjoyed it all three times.  I don't see any likelihood that I'll be playing Awakening again.  The character development of NPCs in Origins gave the game some depth.  The development in Awakening was pretty thin gruel.  And the story line itself was more an outline of a plot than it was a plot.  Plays like it was assembled by a committee.  Could have been great with 6 months or a year more development, more effort to integrate the various quests and have them build toward the climax, and a whole lot more beta testing.

Without getting spoilerish, the epilogue is clearly written to leave wiggle room, for this either being the curtain call for Warden 1.0, ... or also, not. Of course, many thought the (possible) UltSac ending of DA:O meant no more future tales either, so......

Morrigan is the floating plot arc whose story still requires resolution ... IMHO making at least one more appearance likely.

However, yes, I agree that the timer is ticking on our Wardens, no one but Avernus seems to have figured out how to deal with that problem, and unless this is going to be a future plot focus (as some have speculated), there really can't be too many tales left for him/her.

There is no way s/he is going to be in DA 2 and DA 3 (assuming there is a DA 3), unlike the Mass Effect trilogy.

And, as of now, we have no idea whether it is or not curtain time, the coming DlC is certainly written so as to be agnostic to that particular question.

All epilogues open for more adventures with our beloved Warden. So i don't see how this can be final. We barely get to see any of our companions and there is major questions to be answered.
I highly disagree that our wardens time is soon done. He's what? early twenties. And Duncan must've been in his 40-50 and still hadn't got his calling, even though he meant it would soon be his turn.

i could see the next game taking place within 30 years... so that doestn mean the warden will have died

If you played an Orlesian Warden during Awakening, at a couple points (including certain endings) there is talk of going to Weisshaupt for something (this is non-spoilers so I don't want to spoil for anyone). This story element is even mentioned for non-Orlesian Wardens depending on your choices.

So there could be another expansion with this story element.

In terms of nuts and bolts slide show stuff from DA:O, DA:A didn't really change a thing. It stands to reason that slipping off the radar and out of legend or whatever means we can probably expect some sort of going to the source of the dark spawn deep in the ground or whatever and sort of do a 'Battle of Evermore' ala Led Zepplin type thing: storm the black city, destroy some dark gods and save the planet from total darkness. Maybe?

I'd love another expansion to Dragon Age. Any potential sequel would need to be it's own story though. Hell, I wouldn't mind if there was an expansion which came up with a reason for my Warden to go on his Calling (look at his smug face, he deserves it!)

Personally i think they left us hangin' in Awakening. Dont get me wrong i still thought it was a great add on but i still want more with my current character. I think they should make a full 40 to 50 hour story mode about thirty years in the future in which your current character is on his last couple of years because of his darkspawn taint, and has been long forgotten by the public, when along comes some other sort of major crisis and he is the only person that can defeat this crisis. Just an idea.

Awakening didn't really change much for me. While my character did plenty of stuff, I don't really feel like his plot moved anywhere. Becoming commander of the Wardens just seemed like something to do since searching for Morrigan proved fruitless

After the conclusion in Awakening, it tells of what happens in the 5 years to follow . . . this would seem to indicate that the Warden's story continues on at least 5 years after Awakening. This would allow sufficient time for Morrigan to have her child and raise him/her. I strongly believe that the Warden is going to Orlais . . .

I think that we will see at least 1 more expansion for our current Warden before Dragon Age 2 is released. I do not believe that we will be abl;e to import our charachter and play as him in Dragon Age 2 however I can see an import function in Dragon Age 2 just so that the world will reference your original Warden.

Back on the topic of the expansion though I believe, I can't say i remember this correctly however, but I believe before Origins was released they said something of possible expansions, key word being expansions. Also there is still the mysterious February 1st 2011 date from Awakening. I do not think this is DA2 as they would probably start hyping it now and probably would have said something about it at E3. So my conclusion is a possible second expansion to be released around February 1.
