Just out of curiosity, it states that it's "free with cerberus activation."  I don't usually mess with this kind of thing, so it's a little new to me.  Does this mean that only if I had bought the game today and activated the Cerberus Network I would get the Firewalker pack, or can someone whose had the game for some time to do it for free as well.  If so (or if not), how do I go about doing this?

Addon:  Also, how the hell is everyone playing with vehicles in ME2?  Am I missing something, or is this only available with the Firewalker pack?

you buy the game new at anytime and you get a activation code for the cerberus network with it, you get dlc through the cerberus network instead of traditional download methods. The firewalker pack contains a hovertank vehicle and 5 missions.

I'm not going to answer your questions because you sound like a total newb. Figure it out for yourself.

If you bought the game new you'll have a card with a code on it.  Start the game and a screen will pop up asking you register Cerebus Network.  Enter your code, and other info.  Easy.  Then once you're done with that click on new content.  It'll open a browswer window.  Download whatever you want for FREE, including Firewalker/Hammerhead.

Yes, the vehicle is ONLY avail via the Firewalker dlc.

Fun (debatable) for now,  but on your new playthoughs in a future months you will just want to get it over and done with.

Mako where art thou?!!  :crying:
------------
Meant to quote that.  Didn't seem to work to well.  Was going to say that, as long as the Mako was used for legit missions, it was ok, but when used to traverse a world for locations, it blew.  I have to say, though, that this scanning planet bull**** is even worse.  Completely breaks the flow of the game to suddenly have to stop and sit at your mouse for 30 min or more so can dig up enough platinum to upgrade your shotgun (or whatever).  Who's bright idea was that?

Once yo have Cerberus, at any time, you can download the dlc. Yep, vehicle only in Firewalker.

I've installed it numerous times, I've logged into the Cerberus network, I've even redownloaded it, reinstalled. I've exited the game, restarted, etc.

I still don't see the mission :(

On planets that were 50 below 0 or worse, there were cold hazards, the Mako was fine, while the Firewalker is a little **** whining about the cold. The Mako looked like it was in one piece in the crash pack, in better shape than after it went through the conduit in ME1 anyway. There should be a mission to go rescue the Mako, there's more than enough room in the Normandy's hangar for it.

Combat was retarded easy, I wanted to get out and fight the Geth Collossi on foot so it would at least be a fair fight. that would have made this dlc awesome.

Firewalker handling: win However:(Boost and jump work in concert but not simultaneously?)

Firewalker combat: fail (where the hell are my shield and structure readout. That warning klaxon was freaking annoying. Also let me get out of the damn thing so I can shoot the big things with the Cain or at least use the sniper rifle.)

Firewalker exploration: Fail (Like other people have said get rid of invisible walls add in ME1 style environments etc.)

Firewalker surveying: Epic fail (that shaking around **** is retarded let me get out of the damn thing so I can play a mini game to see what the hell the yellow circle was instead of hovering over it like a moron going through caffeine withdrawal.)

**** you, Bucky_M****, and thanks Eternalnightmare. I usually avoid downloadable content like the plague. This trend of making you pay for extra content (and using the Cerberus Network as a tool to prevent used game sales) is something I don't buy into, so after I bought the game, I pretty much ignored the Cerberus Network.  Didn't know that they allowed some free content.  Once again, thanks to all for the help.

It's free, so that makes it awesome. You can't really complain about DLC that's free, optional to play, and really rather fun.

All I can say is that while it's a novelty now and pretending you're Shepard has been entered into an F-Zero race as you hold down accelerate is very much fun, I'm worried about one or two playthroughs down the line. Still, any addition is a welcomed addition and this one is greeted with open arms.

Hopefully I'm missing something, but when I load the game, and after I'm auto-logged into the Cerberus Network, when I click on the new content button and am taken to my browser, all I see is the option to purchase the additional appearances by buying more BioWare points. No Firewalker links in sight.

i cant really complain but if this was how ME2's exploration was i would feel really dissappointed, although it was fun, it felt like i was playing Midnight Club or something, it felt really arcadey and felt less like an rpg, Bioware work with the fans here, we dont want to see ME to veer off from what made it one of the best rpgs ever made

Pretty fun, but glad it was free..not enough content worth paying additional cash for.

I like to think Bioware took a "test the water" approach with the Firewalker DLC; meaning that Bioware will consider possibly adding/improving the Hammerhead for future DLC's/ME:3 content based upon fan reaction to the vehicle.

I personally enjoyed this new Mako over the old ME Mako, but it did have a few flaws -

- Lacked a turret

- No option to manually aim weapon fire

- Very weak against enemy fire

- Spent very little time outside of the Hammerhead (I understand this DLC was released purely with the Hammerhead in mind, but this serves more as a request if future Hammerhead DLC is planned)

For the most part I enjoyed the new Mako, and could easily find myself paying for more diverse and detailed missions involving the hammerhead if Bioware were to design more content with the Mako in mind.

It was..okay. At first, it was really cool, but then that faded away and I got bored. Couple gripes I have: Why is there no HUD or machinegun? And why does it have such a glaring design flaw as the engine freezing over when you're in a cold enviroment? If it works like that, then why doesn't the engine overheat if you're right next to lava? And why does the Hammerhead's barrier system fail so bad?

All these things should be better than the Mako's considering the Hammerhead is the Mako's successor. Instead, the Hammerhead feels like an early prototype to the Mako. And my biggest thing is: Why can't you save while in the Hammerhead? I had to restart an entire mission because I overestimated the amount of damage you can take.

I can see potential in the Hammerhead, but I'm really glad this pack was free. Hopefully, BioWare can overhaul the whole thing and make it really cool. Until then: meh.

couldnt agree more everything you said is exactly what they need to do i liked it but it had its flaws and its definitly funner than the mako

Lol, well i may be in the minority after reading more than a few comments here but i really enjoyed the new vehicle! Granted it was short, but considering this is free i give it total props! It goes fast and handles sweet! Thanks Bioware!!
Though im not a total suck up ;) That AI voice ain't no EDI, and i would prefer aiming myself! But i really look forward to dlc in the future that fleshes the Hammerhead out a bit and gives players longer and more varied missions. Hope that happens! Image IPB
