Not sure if this has been posted before, but has anyone had trouble downloading the Firewalker pack on the 360? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Any help sure would be appreciated!

Are you using marketplace? The only way to download DLC is via Cerberus Network. Load up the game and click on new downloads.

I go to the Cerberus Network and the only options I get are for purchasing the Network, Terminous Armor and the new outfits pack.  I've tried it different ways but still nothing.  What am I missing?

See, I play games to have fun. If I play a DLC pack and it provides a "fun experience", then I tend to be quite satisfied.

Except this DLC was in NO way "fun." It was an extremely boring, extremely linear, waste of time...

BW didn't even think to bundle any achievements with this... while Zaeed got an achievement simply for walking up to him and pressing "A"... Achievements would not have made these missions better, but at least they'd have a reason to be played....

These missions have nothing to do with anything in the game. They're just tossed in, and on my next playthrough I'll skip right passed them...

As for the handling, I found it awkward... A vehicle should not handle identically to a Human. It makes it feel much less like a vehicle... The Mako fondly reminded me of a Warthog from Halo: CE. It was clunky, but you got used to it. It felt like a vehicle...

Yes, it's free... but it's complete garbage... BW isn't even trying here... There's literally like 50 words of dialogue added, 5 crap missions that take about 4 minutes to complete each... they focused so much on giving the hammerhead good control they neglected everything else consumers/customers/fans look for...

Personally, i'd give this DLC not a 6.5/10 like what-his-face a few posts up, but a 2.5/10. It was obviously rushed, had very very very very little creativity, BW clearly was looking to save money on this so they didn't bring in any voice-actors.... and so I say unto you BW, "Meh..."

Free garbage is still garbage... clean, smooth, fancy garbage... yep, still garbage...

Hopefully Kasumi will offer us a bit more...

I swear to GOD BW if Kasumi is recruited by walking up to her and talking to her on Omega i'm trading my ME2 into Gamestop and boycotting not just ME but any and every BW game ever to come... As this will make it very apparent that you have only your wallet's interest in heart, and not the satisfaction of your fans...

OoOo let's see how long your boycott last!

Rather dull experience for a 470 meg DLC, just stay out of geths firing range and pelt them from a distance since it has armor made out of paper mache.

It didnt add much to the experience and the Mako would have been more entertaining to drive around in...

This DLC sucked! I can't save, the targeting system is inaccurate and after the fifth time I got blasted and restarted the mission I had enough. Standing on the chekpoint and pressing the button for 5 seconds is not what I call a fun gameplay, especially when it hovers off and I can start all over again. Frustrating!  The only fun I had with it was speeding and jumping, but that was not the point of this DLC I guess...

It was free... THANK GOD! Imagine what it would have done to BioWares reputation if it wasn't. The fact that it's free is no excuse for the lack of creativity.

I firmly belive that a bad DLC (even a free one) can hurt more than releasing any DLCs at all. It's just bad for buisness. I hope they put much more effort in Kasumi and it won't be just a rip off.

You don't get an achievement, but you get TWO additions to the normandy. One for finishing the first mission (hammerhead) and one for finishing the dig site mission. (prothean artifact; they're like normandy crash site) :)

Besides I doubt microsoft allows them to "patch in" (as free dlc would be refered to as) new achievements.  They have to be paid dlc to add another set of achievement points onto it.  The only way they could have done something like that I think is if there were numerical ? out of ? achievements for current and upcoming dlc like these:
  • "This week on Cribs"  - Fully pimp out shepard's room, requires you to fill every empty slot, including those that aren't yet taken up yet by dlc (this could be limiting so it's kinda dumb to do it as a preperation), buy the fish, the hamster, have your picture frame up, music playing, and a love interest on the sofa (only possible with kelly)
  • "Fully Stocked Hanger Bay" - Acquire all vehicles for the hanger (assuming that there is a purpose to that empty slot in the hanger bay)
  • "You can't lock me out of my own ship!" - Open every room of the Normandy (requires kasumi and zaeed dlc)
  • "Lookin sharp, Shepard..." - Acquire every piece of armor from every shop, every promotional armor set and piece, all dlc armor, and all of the premium outfits for your crew.  (Very expensive achievement here)
  • "Locked and Loaded" - Fill out your armory with every single gun in the game (requires dlc weapons, promo weapons, only obtainable as a soldier that picks the assault rifle advanced training since it's the only advanced weapon that you can't acquire for squadmates, unless they add advanced weapons training dlc down the line...)

So yeah, it'd make ALOT MORE SENSE for them to just add achievements for uncountable dlc LATER instead of NOW so that they don't get in trouble with microsoft or appear to favor the pc over the 360 in achievements or run into the brick wall of having to fill out achievement numbers or be limited by achievements they already put in place.  It's not common knowledge but Microsoft has RULES to achievements on 360 games.  :o

Also I would like to submit the Weapons Training DLC as my ME2 wishlist dlc.

Yes, they do!!!! These are the same whiners and complainers that moan and complain about the free snacks available on a major airline flight (major airlines lose millions each year on that "FREE" stuff).

Yeah, I do not see the Firewalker DLC for PC at all. The only listing I see is the Alternate Uniforms thing.

Well, I completed the Firewalker mission pack today, and to be honest I don't really get a lot of the complaints people are making here. Sure, the missions are short, but they're still well done, and quite a lot of fun. The Hammerhead is leagues better than the Mako when it comes to driving it around, even though the Hammerhead still seems to have problems driving over little bumps and rises. :P

All in all, a very decent offering by Bioware for free DLC, and it offers a platform on which they can build future DLC. Keep up the good work!

i have no idea why they made this. it has nothing to do with anything else in the game. there's zero interaction with your team despite the possibilities (i'm sure legion and mordin would've been fascinated, at least). the only "reward" is some throwaway xp and a prothean sphere you can interact with... sort of. i'm sure they want better feedback, though, so:

* fix the hints to reflect the key binding changes we've done

* a health bar and either regen or repair

* let us save while in the HH

* another weapon, say, an autocannon or such like... yeah, like what the mako had

* have our squadmates react to something... anything. better yet, imbue the HH with certain abilities based on who you bring along (Legion = more damage/accuracy w/missiles, Tali = minor shields/chance to avoid damage when hit, Garrus = higher jumps?, etc)

* a permanent minimap (for the rest of the game as well)

* longer missions that also involve scouting/exploring/fighting on foot

* the ability to revisit cleared areas (for the rest of the game, too)

in other words, no sale for the imminent and obvious paid DLC down the road without a few of those getting implemented.

Haven't completed all the missions yet, but found the Hammerhead quite fun to drive. Even if the objectives were a little boring.

Having some more character interaction would have definately been nice, but I can understand why they didn't bother.

Can you imagine how much of a pain it must be to gather up all the voice actors and pay them to record some lines for a free update?

I agree that we should be able to save while in the HH and it should have a repair button like the Mako. Revisting areas would be nice too, but only if they were explorable. Still, I love the HH. It's a blast to drive around and I really like all the missions, especially the one with the geth.

The addition of the HH and the 5 missions adds to the experience. I really don't see why you're complaining that it has nothing else to do with the rest of the game, over half of the side missions with the Mako had nothing to do with ME1. It's just there to add depth to the universe, and it opens up the possibility of more worlds to explore. I guess it's just another case of people making up more reasons to hate on ME2.

BioWare already said that this was basically an experiment to see how it could be done. For an experiment, I think it was done very well. I really hope they release more missions for the HH.

re-introducing the geth as an enemy needs more of an explanation than "lol it's free why so serious". also, the whole "ooo it's a prothean relic" thing no longer holds any mystery or inherent fascination.

i love ME2 but this was feeble and hollow.

So many bring up the argument that its free. A kick in the groin is mostly free (although I hear there are people, probably mostly japanese..., who actually pay for one), but people don't queue up to get that either.

A free sample, a demo has a purpose. Namely that it gets you interested in the stuff that is not free. If it fails to do that it can't be considered successful. If a whole bunch of them fails to do that, they are simply not worth making.

I have to confess that I usually pirate games before buying them. I have done this to several games, but ME was the only one I didnt even consider playing through first. The same with ME2. But seeing the DLC so far (and I am sorry to say even the bonus contect, which have very little, if any, benefits beyond looking good), I am starting to lose confidence.

I would pay good money for Bring Down The Sky quality DLC any day.

So how do you collect the research? It says to press the right mouse button and stay close but that does nothing, holding the mouse button does nothing either.

Thanks, I eventually figured it out. Mine as in dig, not mine as in ordinance. To mine anything else you have to probe. I was all excited and waiting to find mines to start using them but it turned out to be harvesting minerals instead. :crying:

So I guess that begs the question, why does it say to use the right button instead of V? The only change I've made to the default key bindings is to swap the space bar and shift key functionality.

This DLC seems to be more a proof of concept than anything comprehensive. I'm hoping there'll be more Hammerhead DLC or a larger role for it in ME3.

Edit : Each area also seemed to have slightly different terrain and hazzards too, so it may have been a resource DLC for future DLC.

I'm still laughing cause a while back people were tripping on me for saying BioWare takes their sweet time to complete a DLC.

Their response? "Fool yo trippin' it FREE! Don't be hating on BioWare and FREE DLC."

A. There is no such thing as a free meal, nothing is free. You're paying and buying somewhere along the damn line. You take a girl out to eat and pay for her food, then drive her around so then she sleeps with you... well, you pretty much just paid for sex. Those girls are called gold diggers, could be guys too. Either way, it's not free, STFU.

B. I don't hate BioWare or the DLC. Hell, I didn't even play it at that point because it wasn't out. I just happened to hear through the grapevine they had it all drawn up and planned out before the game even came out. I was complaining that it took too long for them to finish it. Case and point, most people think it was a cheap P.O.S. anyway.

C. It's "FREE" and if you're disappointed by what you got then you probably haven't received much "FREE" stuff in your life. You gotta pay for a lawyer also, good justice isn't free. So why all these people hyped this up to be this amazing DLC with amazing graphics? Could it be because I was right when I said most of them are morons? Yeah, there ain't much to counter that now except some more whining. Let me get my violin... where did I put that thing... so damn small I can't find it.

D. I still think it's funny that half the people who were d-ridding and tripping about the DLC are now hating on it. That is some irony right there, gotta love stupid people.

E. Before you open your mouth against anything I said, consider this. I don't really care and if you don't understand marketing and the concept of "free" then I care even less. So don't waste your time especially if I'm not even talking about you in particular. Because unless you feel like you fall into the category of dumb people I'm talking about there's no point to open your mouth and announce who you are, idiot. Why? Well, because that means you're one of those dumb people and you're sad cause I pointed it out. If I find my mini-violin I'll be sure to play it for you.

Has it actually been said by any official source at this point that the Firewalker pack is basically a Hammerhead tutorial? Because that's what a lot of people keep saying to defend it. And it does make sense - given how well the HH handles, I'd say it's a safe bet they invested a lot of time into fine-tuning it and wouldn't let it go to waste on a grand total of 30 minutes of content, but if the intention with the FW pack is for it to just be a quick introduction to the HH vehicle with longer and more interesting missions coming eventually, err, they could've actually come out and told us that and put all this b*tching to rest...

Re-introducing?  The Geth are in ME2 as an enemy a lot, they're just searching the galaxy for ways to expand their power.

I liked this DLC, the HH was fun to use and the missions were different from the normal ME2 missions.  If I had paid more than $5 I might have felt it dissapointed, but for free it was a great addition to the game with nothing to give up.

This DLC is horrible shepard is stronger than the tan, missions are
dull and stupid, no ability to save during missions, tutorial pop
messages tell you to use the wrong buttons, controls are more clunky
than the mako from ME1, no ability to leave tank to do feet on the
ground reconnaissance, to conversation chatter in the tank, and no
ability to talk to team members. The DLC made me feel like I was playing
a higher graphic version of combat from the atari 2600, the difference
being I think the controls from combat were better than this DLC.

The DLC is free so there is not much room to complain to much. That being said though as far as I know unless you pre-ordered the game the Cerbeus network costs 1200 bioware points for the pc. So in a around about way you pay for the extra content.
