hmm, i actually enjoyed the driving experiance of the hammerhead. but like most people, it needs a HUD or at least a health bar. Or maybe it should have countermeasures. Dodging geth rockets by just jumping up and down while strafing is not very fun.

The Firewalker Humm. Well I played it, it reminds me playing arcade platform games back 80's and 90's but in 3D. Though I finished it, still have to get used to the controls. Also the pop ups was giving me the wrong information like it was showing me use 'Left Shift' for mining but it was 'v'. One good thing about it though it had no health for the tank. Good!! It keep me on my toes.

I just remember something also it remind me those racing bikes in KOTOR.

driving the hammerhead is fun but the point of the mako for me was to get on foot and score all my kills that way, to get more exp. but since we don't get per-kill xp anymore I guess it doesn't matter that you're stuck in the driver's seat.

seriously though the hammerhead missions are very...booring. I hope ME3 doesn't have the same crappy sequences... -_-

The best thing they could do is incorporate the open area idea from ME1, then hopefully populate it with a lot more than just the occasional building and herd of alien monkeys. Also a machinegun would have been nice as a secondary weapon, as to the point and shoot homing rockets i didnt really feel that the vehicle was in any serious danger (except fom my driving) when using them since they hit almost every time. It would have been nice to get out of the vehicle and roam about but there you go. Releasing it as a DLC doesnt seem to have been the best idea, the hammerhead play no role in the main story so after playing the missions once or twice i didnt really feel much desire to play them again. I didnt always like the mako but its bigger role in ME1 meant that i was still a little annoyed to see how it went out (Until i remembered all those empty planet scapes i explored, excessively).

well it seems that everybody here can play the hammerhead except me!!! Have been downloading the files like tenth time and still got the NSIS error . If I disabled the installer checking by using the /ncrc string the installation will fail. Helppppp!!!!

This vehicle is awesome! That was one of the biggest complaints in the first game, I liked exploring but hated driving over retardedly irritating terrain. With this you can just fly over rough areas. I and a few friends were talking, we all missed the exploration of planets from the first game, so many planets out there and that's 1 of the best things to do in a futuristic game like this is to explore. I really hope now with this vehicle that there will be more planet exploration in the third game or test out some new exploration planets in another DLC to see how the fans react. With the upgraded graphics in ME2, you could create some very beautiful planets. If this vehicle was in the first game, would have been awesome and actually fun.

Is it me or did I notice that there is still one more empty grappler in the cargo/ship bay.... dont know what that means, maybe it is left open for a new fighter for ME3 or something, but back on post I actually liked this DLC, it added a new aspect to the game, bioware delivered, was not really expecting more from a hovertank, definately an improvement from the MAKO, hopefully they will give us, or even make us pay, for more missions with this new addition to the universe.

Just add some kinetic barriers, because even Shepard on foot can take more damage than the Hammerhead.

But it was fun doing my old Mako moves in some missions. And by that I mean ram the enemies so they fall into a lava pit.

In ME3 they should add some sort of helicopter/plane. That would be so awesome! :D

Just finished the Firewalker missions. I have to say that IMO BioWare made a big mistake with the first mission, which is the absolute worst of the bunch by far and almost put me off the rest. But most of the missions are fun. Here my good and bad points:

Bad:
(1) No save while in the Hammerhead. That sucks x1000.
(2) The first mission. Arcade game with platform jumping. Ugh.
(3) Mission areas are too linear. That applies to all of ME2, but it bears repeating.

OK:
(1) Combat (last mission only). As a rule, I like it. The gun misses too often, but the enemies miss, too, so I guess it balances out. All in all maybe a bit too easy: I don't think I got hit once, and I'm actually rather bad at this kind of stuff compared to most on these forums (my standard difficulty level is Veteran). But with the no-save it's better too easy than too hard.
(2) The artifact recovery mission. Nice location, but combat gets a bit boring with all those geth who don't fire back.
(3) The resources run on the ice world. Very boring, but it doesn't matter how far you get, so it's OK.

Good:
(1) The mixed missions where you get to a location by Hammerhead and then continue on foot.
(2) The atmosphere in the Prothean site.
(3) The mission's storyline - I like missions around interesting discoveries from the enigmatic Protheans.
(4) Locations. Nicely done. As with the rest of ME2, the sidequest locations always look more like real locations than those of the character and main plot missions.

All in all, the Hammerhead is fun to navigate, but the crashing sound when you land always made me think I *did* crash. I wish for an automatic softer landing. I'd also like bigger and less linear areas to explore. A handful of ME1-style explorable planets would be very nice.

I'm a little disappointed. But hey, it was free DLC, so thank you Bioware.

Hi to everybody. I took Kasumy pack too. Really really nice.... What else ?!? It's the 7th time I play to ME2 and I find it fantastic!!! I lack only Cerberus Network and new looks. I read that Mako nevermore but during development of ME3 Bioware will study new devices like Headhammer and maybe more... I guess my english it's good. :)

I think the hammerhead missions were very cool ! I like the way this little low altitude VTOL like craft operates.

I hope the folks at bioware are working on more missions for it, since it has a lot of potential.

They did say repeatedly that they're always looking for a fitting implementation of space-sim combat, so I guess they keep the option open, even for ME2 with that grapple. I'd love to see something Descent style, with both indoor and outerspace (asteroid fields?) settings. But, it'd have to fit.

As for the firewalker, the Firewalker missions I actually found most immersive, were the ones that were ME1 style: find a specific location, disembark, do stuff, enter the Firewalker again and move to the next location.
I figure the same would apply for a spacesim version: fight stuff, dock at some station or board an enemy vessel, do stuff, and get the hell out again.

Fantastic idea.  Did anyone play that Mace Griffin game?  That involved that -- sorta -- you'd land on a ship and enter FPS mode, the game was kinda lack luster but the seamless space flight stuff was very coooool.

Mass Effect could pull it off pretty good I bet.  I mean, the Reapers are star ships, we should be able to at least fight one in space even if its only for a brief sequence or something!

That's a good idea, let's replace the Mako mission with space fighter missions in ME3. Bioware sucks at making ground vehicles, maybe they do better with space fighters.

Well, Bioware did pretty well with Shattered Steel in '96. One of the better Mechwarrior clones I've played. That was groundbased and didn't suck. :P
