1. Romance/character relationships. More conversations and budding friendships and whatever else is NEVER a bad thing!
2. If in the first one, one chose the dark ritual path, please for the love of Christ at least throw us a bone regarding what happened!
3. I love my Origins characters, please bring some back, if not all.
4. Anders!!! (and Ser Pounce-a-Lot)
5. Decisions that actually impact the rest of the game/the expansions/etc in a significant way. A way that, if we screwed up, makes us go "Aw, sh*t!" - we have to be allowed to actually screw up. Royally.
6. I know this isn't that easy or straightforward, but if you could work on the characters' facial expressions matching what they're on about more, I'd really appreciate it. Also! When someone in the party is talking to someone else, try not to make them just talk to the air? At least make them look at each other from time to time. (Yes, people actually stop to see those interactions, soooo
And that's pretty much it!

-More Hair styles/colors and tattoos
-More cheeks for elfs (Seriosly, the Shallow cheeks appearance for the elfs, everytime I make one he looks like an old man who barely eats anything even with the shallow cheeks to full, as high as it can go.)
-Vigilance (Damn well better be in DA2... stolen from the crows my ass, I'll kill 'em before I let that happen.)
-Better communications between Bioware and players (Don't just stick a card in your future games with nothing but a date on it giving players heart attacks trying to figure out what it means. That "We don't give concrete release dates on things like that" or something similar is a load of bull, at the very least we want to know what the hell is going on. Things like that will leave a lot of people dissapointed when they figure out it doesn't turn out to be what they wanted.)
-Faster Patches (Waiting for the upcoming patch 1.04 is killing me. Getting DLC's is great and all in between [for the 5-10 minutes before I beat it] but if it takes that much more time to get the patch ready because of it then it's not worth it. It's been 5 months since Awakenings has been released and since then I haven't been able to play the game properly despite paying 40 bucks for it.)
-Power of blood (I still left Avernus to research ways to help the wardens and would like to see some results.)
The Architect (We didn't learn much about him from awakenings, are there consequences for *minor spoiler* letting him live?)
-Rune slots (It couldn't hurt to add one more right?)
-Romance (I was dissapointed when there wasn't any in Awakenings, though to be fair I still would have remained with Morrigan.)
-Old companions (When I found out Oghren was the only returning character I killed a puppy. [...not really but I was pretty pissed] And the brief appearance from just Wynne didn't do much good either.)
-Orlais (I just want to see if we can hit on the empress, I hear she is young, awwwwlriiiight.)
If I think of any more I'll be sure to post.

I understand why they want to fully voice Lelianna in her new DLC. Lelianna is not YOUR character though, she is her own character.
Anyway back on topic. I would love to see a DA game set when the first Blight took place. I think it would make a great and epic game. I wonder why they didnt do it in the first place but I guess they just wanted a lot of lore for the game.

I mean I prefer the look of the Dalish Weapons personally in DA:O but all of them were crap. I know the asethtics (right word?) of the game aren't first and foremost in your minds and you depend on the mod community to take care of that part for you, but it should be an option integrated into the game.
I mean I'd love to design some mods and such for the game, but the damn toolset will not work on my computer without jumping through hoops and as I'm not a computer guru I won't chance it.
I'd like to see more class reward items and quests .

In general, I would like elements of the Origin story to be carried over...for example, there seemed to be definite foreshadowing about the Morrigan/Alistair Dark Ritual thing at the end of Origins, but then that whole story (and the characters) were abandoned in Awakening. I would also like romances to be possible and I would like it even better if romances from Origins were carried over.I would love to see some characters from Origins and have my decisions in Origins/Awakening carry over into a sequel.
I also really enjoyed the dialogue in Origins, so I would like dialogue to at least be similar to that. I felt more engaged in Origins than I was in Awakening, and more attached to the characters.
And perhaps I'm just missing something here, but for some reason I have never been able to find a way to remove old saves (instead of just saving over them). If I just save over old saves, then the most recent save I have is usually not at the top of the load screen. This caused a bit of frustration when importing my character into Awakening.

I would like to see more playable characters, maybe 15, but you can only end up with 9 or 10 because of choices, such as in DA:O the conflict between Loghain and Alistair and you can only have 1 of them. Also the kind of situation with Morrigan and Wynne where if you have Morrigan in your party, you can't get Wynne.
Just a side note: You can have both Morrigan and Wynne in your party. Maybe you just chose the wrong dialogue options or a character's approval wasn't high enough or something? I don't really know.

- Continuing the same character.
- Higher level, continuing in that from where Awakening left off, ending somewhere in the 50s.
- Tying up of some of the loose ends.
- Some of the same companions from the original game, and at least mention of the others. Zevran and Leliana seem to make the most sense to me for keeping in the party (possibly Alistair, if he wasn't king). Carrying over whatever relationship/friendship/hatred they had for you would be good.
- Not too particular on the plot, so long as it's interesting and suitably epic.
- More character customisation options, with them able to be applied to imported characters.
- Injuries having more impact. If characters aren't going to die when they go down, I at least want them to get messed up badly.
- Some blend of the two conversation systems would be ideal, I think.
- Visiting more locations, like Antiva, Orlais, Tevinter... really, I'm not that picky on this front, either. It'd be cool whatever it was.
- It's awesome that the heavier/massive armours look just as realistic and practical on male and female characters. It'd be nice if the same was true of the rest of the armour and mage robes.
Honestly, I'm not very picky despite all that. If it's fun, I'll like it.

ferelden, orlais, qunari lands, tevinter, more of highever etc
this would help with re-recruiting old members of the party. To get sten travel to the qunari lands and do some quests.
travel to orlais to get leiliana. Instead of the origins missions at the beginning, the first missions should be to travel and re-recruit a certain amount of old members.
all locations available to go find the old members but you can only recruit 4 and then the locations close until you re-visit for later quests. Then the people you didnt choose to rejoin, you do a quest for or become some kind of npc.
more shapes/height etc: different body shapes and sizes.
Different voices and more customization:
More Party members to chose from (ie, 20 members only 10 recruitable including the 4 from origins): They could also conflict like loghain/alistar.
This will make each play through slightly different.
Better specializations: more specializations and classes and deeper and more in depth specilaztion trees and more skills/talents.
Return of old party members: All of them making an appearance and maybe the chance to re-recruit a certain amount of them to join with new party members.
Being able to load a dragon age origins game, and dragon age 2 would carry over character information, codex entrys and weapons, character levels etc. then dragon age 2 would follow on from your dragon age origins game and make sense.
A tome that allows you to reset your players attributes and skills, like in awakening. This time without losing any of the points though.
new enemies.
playable characters shouldnt start with skills, should all be customisable, to help make each playthrough different
Alot more created weapons from materials, like in awakenings and with the meteor ore, drake scales.
Awakenings style material gathering. Finding a veridium ore should be able to be crafted into any weapon and same with other materials aswell as special recipes like the sword made from dragon egg etc.
so basically, bog standard metal crafted items and special material crafted items.
A party cache from the start.
mounts. brontos etc. Id especially like to see griffons come back, dragons etc...it would be cool to be have a quest to find and breed griffons.
day and night cycle.
more random fights and random boss fights.
more armor and weapons.

I want my Warden to be back. Why focus so much on my "Origins" if my story ends with my beginning? I mean I can understand it if its necessary to the story. For example if ten years or more pass. Either way I want my decisions to carry over at least.
I want there to be a larger variety of two handed weapons. I can understand why they only stuck to Great Axes, Great Swords, and Hammers. Since they're all weapons you swing to attack with, from a design standpoint, there's no need to come up with unique animations for every weapon. I want to see lances, halberds, and other polearms like that. Also, double-bladed swords like the ones in KotOR would be nice. A bit impractical, but nice.
In addition to that, I'd like to see more of the continent. Ferelden is such a small portion of Thedas and I really feel that there's a lot more to be explored. I know with a large world, detailed graphics become more difficult, but I feel that the DA:O found a decent blend of those two. I can only hope both things improve with the sequel.
Also, can we make it that all of the women don't look like the sister of a Schwarzenegger once you get them in the sack? Them are some broad shoulders...I'm just saying.

And hey, don't make the player a Grey Warden, but put two in the party. At the end when go to kill the Warlord, you have to choose between the two Grey Wardens who kills him (kinda like the Virmire choice in Mass Effect), and you dont get a Dark Ritual cop out.

In-game voice recording option, so you can record your own voice for your various character actions and battle shouts.
Maybe as a sub-game implement randomly generated areas (think Diablo) with challenges such time limits and number of kills.

And why is DAII already announced? Are we getting the MW approach to DA with a new game every year? DA needs a full engine rewrite, not another sequel before that is possible.
All these awesome ideas in this thread will never be implemented in the game due to the fact that BW is pushing it out so soon. I doubt it wil be much more than a reskin of DA:O with few changes.

I want a visual upgrade. That is my main sticking point with DA:O. When I played the human noble story and saw that the log pile at the end maybe had 20 polygons (you know what I'm talking about), I just was disgusted at the lack of an attempt to make it even somewhat realistic. Optimize the engine, for god's sake.

Full engine re-write? Have a look at NWN and have a look at the Witcher. They hardly need to re-write the engine, just upgrade and tweak it as they go along and as the average user's hardware increases in performance over time.

I myself wouldn't say a full-engine rewrite, but they definitely need to tweak a bit and optimize the hell out of it. Dragon Age: Origins was a great game, but the graphics in a game are sometimes a make or break factor when it comes to buying and enjoying a game. I suggested the first game to several of my friends, but as soon as they saw the graphics, half of the time they would immediately no longer have any interest.Daveyboy154 wrote...

Having now seen the new Dragon Age II page, I was very happy to see the new hero holding what seems to be a lance. The art looks amazing, the weapon looks amazing, the armor looks amazing, but I really hope this isn't a repeat of Dragon Age: Origins where the concept art looks nothing like the final game. The "All-New Adventure" sounds like it will be interesting. I was disappointed to learn it seems like it will be a new character.

I was half thinking the same to be honest, then I though about how much I enjoyed Kotor. Then how much I enjoyed Kotor 2 (with the restoration pack of course.) Then I realised that playing a defined character has resulted in some of my most enjoyable gaming moments and some of the most critically acclaimed RPGs of all time and I totally changed my mind.
I loved the Origins part of DAO - but I am really looking forward to playing this Hawke chap now.
