2. The main character to have a voice. If they can do it with Mass Effect then why not with Dragon Age? If you do the human noble origin then you have the same last name no matter what but you make up your own first name, kind of similar to Sheppard. Like a few others said, Bioware could have really taken the game to the next level with a good voice in for the hero.
3. Continuation of choices we made in DA:O/A. Something similar to the carry over from Mass Effect to Mass Effect 2 but even better. I mean come on, they were able to make some great carry-overs from ME to ME2 but from DA:O to DA:A we had a cameo or two and that's it. I was the king and nobody even referred to me as the king aside from Anora briefly in the beginning. When I'm in Amaranthine talking to people they should respect lol not be like "Oh, Warden Commander, clean up all our messes for us" or "I have to check you for smuggled goods!" Wtf? I'M THE KING AND ARL OF THIS TERRITORY!

10. Less bugs !
11. Continuation of the Morrigan tale (and preferable as a playable character as well)
And last but not least, bring back Alistaire as a playable character as well

- Cloaks.
- Better hat styles for mages.
- More mana and stamina or quicker regeneration.
- Noble clothing should be available for purchase.
- Romanceable characters.
- A romanceable female character who is "normal" like Alistair and not crazy or b!tchy like Leliana or Morrigan. Don't get me wrong, I like them but I've seen a couple people post on these forums that said they would like a more "normal" female character to romance and I agree.
- New specializations.
- Enemies that level up as you do.
- Party chest at camp.
- Option to choose the size of your characters body.
- Quests that explain more about the darkspawn and religion.
- An easier way to make more money or lower the price of items that merchants sell.
- Different armor styles.
- No underwear in sex scenes or the option to take the underwear off.Having the underwear on doesn't make the scenes realistic.
- Better menu system.
- Horses. It is said they exist, yet we don't see them in the game.
- Transition from day to night should be shown.
- Isometric camera view should be available for consoles.
- Runecrafting and being able to enchant armor like in Awakening.
- Plot or quest that explains the role that Morrigan's child plays.
- Option to play as a qunari.
- Have the next games take place in other countries or the option to visit them.
- Option to explore the uncharted territories.
- Different PC origin stories.

1. VISUALS
1a. More variation in weight, gaunt/plump characters for instance.
1b. More variation in hairstyles, especially for the female characters. Can we have long hair this time.
1c. Cloaks. I know they obscure most of the character onscreen, but there are ways around this. Such as half-cloaks (see the main character in FFXIII), short capes or cloaks of transparent material etc.
1d. Hoods. Its not a Rogue unless it has a hood.
1e. Mage hats...yes, even pointy cones or top hats. But more specifically something Gandalf-y.
1f. The possibility of more attractive characters. The people doing the PC mods even make the characters good-looking, why can't Bioware. Either sort it out or hire them.
2. COMBAT
2a. Choices in combat should affect the outcome. The way to do this is to make the differences between choices bigger. Using a mace should make a difference against an armoured target.
2b. Nerf Mages (DAO) and all classes (Awakening). Something like Fireball should only be doing about 25% or less of the damage of a typical Sword swing (because it attacks multiple opponents; at range and has a knockdown effect).
2c. Make Constitution more relevant. Its basically a dump stat.
2d. More weapon types, such as Spear/Polearm and Unarmed Combat.
2e. 60 second cooldown on potion use. This is a must.
2f. Salves should not be usuable in combat and you should only be able to use one at a time.
2g. Wall Spells (Wall of Fire, Wall of Ice etc.). Again, another must have.
3. ENEMIES
3a. More enemy types: how about Oozes; Genies; Angels (for the Chantry 'villains') etc.
3b. No level scaling. Replace with Rank Scaling.
3c. Don't use the same enemy types constantly.
3d. Enemies should make better use of combat tactics. For instance, drinking potions or healing allies.
3e. Combat formations for humanoids.
3f. Bigger differences between enemies. Make genlocks sneaky rogues and grenade throwers to differentiate them from hurlocks.
3g. Better encounter variety, such as multiple lieutenants or two bosses etc.
3h. Recurring Bosses. Multi-phase Bosses. Multi-part Bosses. Morphing Bosses.
3i. Give each enemy a unique ability. Zombies dealing injuries with every hit. Avarice demons that drain your gold. etc.
3j. Assign each enemy a Morale rating. Cowardly (flees if outnumbered - if escapes add it to a later encounter); Standard (surrenders if the last man standing and outnumbered 3:1, player has choice of life or death); Stubborn (fights to death); Heroic (gains a bonus for fighting against the odds).
3k. Make enemy resistances actually meaningful. Have skeletons only take 10% damage from Piercing attacks. have golems only take 10% damage from magical attacks. have oozes only take 10% damage from physical attacks. Have plants only take 10% damage from crushing or piercing weapons.
4. DIFFICULTY
4a. Hard should be hard, Nightmare should be very hard.
4b. Nightmare Plus Loop Option. Game gets harder each time you play through. As a reward there are unique artifacts within each loop.
4c. Vanguard and Rearguard forces. Joining multiple encounters (2 on hard, 3 on Nightmare) together to form challenging moments.
4d. A few optional bosses, that are mega tough.
5. GENERAL GAME MECHANICS
5a. Even Paced Advancement. If you feel the game is too mundane over the opening levels then start the heroes at Level 3 or something.
5b. Don't have basic enemy loot drops. Lieutenants, Bosses, Elite Bosses and Chests will suffice.
I am sure I have forgotten some stuff I wanted to say. I'll get back to you.

A combination of Origins and Awakening character interaction.
New skills, spells, items, etc.
New party members and npcs who are at least as great as the ones in Orgins, if not better.
Great new story in tradition of Bioware rpgs.

Continuity.
If you can't be bothered to link games together properly, don't make sequels, make new games. In some respects, Mass Effect 2 did this well, but there were moments when I could feel the plot smack me down for no other reason than "BECAUSE THE PLOT SAYS SO!" with caps lock and all. Like, what Wrex does in ME2 is fine, Tali and Garrus are brilliant, but what the council did, or how Liara behaved was not. Especially the council. Seriously... But I digress.
Or maybe I don't. If you take a good look at it, none of the choices you made in ME1 really mattered much. At best, there is some flavor dialogue that goes slightly different. It would be nice to see Ferelden as shaped by me in Dragon Age 2. If at best you're gonna have footnotes you might as well start from scratch.
I don't really doubt the quality of any game Bioware ships, even after Awakenings. The story will be good, the characters memorable, etc. But the problem with that is that if you're yanking all those memorable characters away for sequels or expansions I'm going to feel cheated. Why should I bother to care if it's not my choice whether to keep them around? Same for bigger quests. Why should I care about the fate of any given faction in Origins if you're just going to level the playing field again for a sequel?

Gotta agree here. And yes, I realize that would eliminate dialogue options... which would make me sad until I realized that HALF THE DIALOGUE OPTIONS ELICITED THE EXACT SAME RESPONSES!
So... yeah... Voice the hero next time Bioware. It's really hard to care about a silent protagonist unless you have an overactive imagination, which belongs in pen and paper, not in a modern blockbuster RPG game. If you have to, take the wheel from Mass Effect and bring it into DA2. You guys popularized the wheel concept, I suggest you get as much mileage out of it as possible.

the main thing id like to see is a way to restart the game after you finished it with your buffed character from your last game.
like when you beat the game a way to start it all over again with the same character only on a harder difficulty that way we can go back do those side quests we missed yet still keep the game challenging and fun.

It is massively restrictive to bring back old characters for the sake of pleasing some fans. I would rather they avoid going that route and choose instead to honour the memory of the DA:O characters (not all of them, mind) with a single piece of long lost, and long since worn, gear. Or, if you like, an historical account (a codex entry) that alludes to deeds done in the years following the epilogue in DA:O.
However, the return of Morrigan as an NPC has potential since she is... different.
Anyway, my wish list:
A selection of advanced options in the Character Generator for those of us who take meticulous pains to get the desired, the je ne sais quoi, but the you-know-it-when-you-see-it look:
-The option to choose and subtely manipulate ectomorphic, endomorphic, and mesomorphic body types.
-More hairstyles. Not overly elaborate or overstylised, but a bit of variation certainly wouldn't hurt.
Armour:
-Better looking armour, helmets and cowls. Mages' robes that don't look like a court jester's get-up.
Event specific garb for NPCs:
-The impact of Anora's loss was wasted. Why was she not wearing widow's weeds during that critical early scene in the game? Black can be tailored to elegance without appearing witchy.
Music:
-Inon Zur. Dragon Age: Origins is his best soundtrack to date. You can't go wrong with more of the same good thing.
Camp:
-A storage chest for your inventory. Need I say more? No, I didn't think so.
