Play Awakening - make DA2 nothing like it. In other words - make it fun, and challenging with engaging characters that you actually care about.

Less bugs.

I thought the original patchless DAO had a nice level of difficulty. It was generally hard and you had to think a bit. It started getting much easier with each progressive patch.

Less gold, less super powerful magic items. Epic quests should be a struggle and resources should be at a premium. Not simply kill some things, sell their stuff and get lots of loot to buy the latest in god like armor. I would like magic items to be rare, not everywhere.

Rework the specializations. Some are simply too good.

Rune crafting, the whole rune thing in general allowed for absurdly powerful weapons and armor. Tune it down a notch.

I would prefer the Origins style converastions with some Awakening style. Definitely more of the former and less of the latter.

Personally I'd like to see the following, it's a list I warn ya......

1) I would like to see the return of old love interests (that make sense) and the introduction of new ones.

2) I'd like to see a combination of the Origins dialogue system with the Awakenings dialogue system with one slight difference. Instead of having to click on items to get characters to talk, getting close enough will initiate the cut scene the first time you pass it with that character.

3) Would like to see more armor and weapon models. Daggers that are the size of daggers and not short swords. I would like to be able to tint these things as I see fit.

4) More clothing options not just for mages, but for rogues as well. Take a cue from some of the astounding mods that are out there.

5) Crafting in NWN2 was fine the way it was, you had to find certain resources that weren't everywhere then decide how to use them as you leveled up. It took some time but was also very simple to do, bring something like this into the game and get rid of the ruins fiasco.

6) Height, weight, muscular build sliders in character creation

7) Add more tattoos in character creation, and not just head/facial tattoos but for the back, arms, legs etc. Also add scars to character creation in the same fashion.

8) If possible add jumping and climbing to the game.

9) Increase the size (or make it like NWN 2) of the quick bar

10) Make the classes and specializations more valuable to the game than just the way they are in battle. BG2 had specific quests and rewards depending on the class you played, implement something similar.

11) Main character speech. I am not a fan of just reading what my character says rather than hearing it. Makes choosing a voice in the beginning pointless. It would be nice to choose a line and see my character actually interact.

12) Helmets, hats or whatever, are hideous, make them better lol. For instance why would my Rogue Assassin run around with a helmet with big ol wings on it? She wouldn't, instead why not a wrap mask or something like that? Make sense?

13) It's a small thing really but I'd like to enter a merchants distract and be able to interact with more than just 2-3 of the 50 merchants there. Spread out some items, or even make others just gifts or decor for something.

14) Base of operations that I can custimize. You had the keep in NWN2 another in DA:A but that's not what I mean. I'd like to actually see visual change for the money invested. I'd like to have things bought at the merchants quarter put throughout. It doesn't even have to be a keep, it also can vary depending on the class you choose. A small underground network of caves for a rogue, a small home for a warrior, a run down tower for mages. Just something

15) Companions doing something at camp besides standing there looking stoic and bored. Some sort of interaction like cooking, eating, cleaning something.

16) Make the toolset part of the game like NWN2, not a seperate download. To this day I can't get it to work.

17) Definately more hairstyles, skin tones that aren't blotchy, ability to add/subtract some jewlrey at CC such as add earrings, nose rings and the like.

18) I like having weapons on the back, but you should also have some hip sheaths, still trying to figure out where I'm pulling that murder knife from.

19) If you don't want to add ridable horses or griffens I understand, but a pack animal would at least make things a little more realistic when you have 50 suits of plate mail with you.

20) Cloaks that is all.

21) More jewelry spots, still to this day find it funny that every game is still stuck on wearing only two rings at a time when I have 10 fingers. I'm not saying that to give us 10 active ring spots, 3-4 I think is good, but you can add non active spots. I mean my elf wanted to where the wedding ring forever, but apparantly didn't have but 2 fingers so it had to come off. Same with necklaces

22) The ability to change certain character appearances in game such as hairstyle, make up, add tats. I have a tendency to want something fresh and new after a while and being able to slightly change the appearance of my ongoing character would be awesome.

23) Add a few cut scenes where the entire party is together enjoying something, like a dinner after a big battle, or in the city tavern over a drink.

For me the most important things are: continuity of the warden storyline (old love interests, finding morrigan etc) and the conversation style being like in Origins except when on a dangerous quest or something like that.

Like "wwwwowwww" (lol) I would also like to see some cut scenes with the entire party having some fun, funny moments or discussing what to do next.

I wonder if I can get Dog back...

More things to do at camp see party members arguing, and you can either let them duke it out or defend one or be peacekeeper etc. Celebrations at camp would be neat too.

More gear this game to me seemed really gear starved, and what little gear it had was very melee friendly.

More cutscene gifts those really make you connect with your companions, and allow them to give you some gifts to you the Warden. I know Morrigan and Alistair give you gifts, but I want more! From everyone LI or not.

More origins

I liked Vigilance, but instead of 1h or 2h sword make it any weapon!

Nerf Dex

More deathblows, and also magic/range deathblows!

That is all I can think of right now.

My random thoughts are as follows:

1. Character Development / Beginning: I am hoping to see backgrounds for the player character, similar to DA1, EXCEPT they tie in with the last sequel. That is: you can choose to be King/Queen of Ferelden, a Grey Warden, etc, corresponding to the possible endings of the original DA. This would also make importing a character more feasible as an alternative alongside making a character from scratch. The difference would be that while players of the original DA got to live their story, newcomers to the DA series would simply have to read up on their respective background (much like we didn't "live" our characters up to the starting point of DA 1 - we started from a preset storyline).

2. In order for the above to be possible, I think the game has to be set somewhere far away from the location of the original, in order to make your status less relevant and keep down the amount of differential treatment of your character (in other words, while they may mention or notice that you are the queen of Ferelden in certain conversations, it shouldn't have a significant effect on the story and your abilities that make the game much easier (such as having everyone obey your commands or having an army at your disposal). If necessary, they could make you abdicate the throne to fight some new threat.

3 (a). Romances were very well done in the original and I would like to see them continue. I am sure many people here feel similar about their romances in DA - as the character is still very young in the existing DA titles, it seems a shame not to continue the existing romances and see their progression.  I am not mainly talking about sex scene(s) here, which I don't particularly care much about, but mainly the actual adventuring with your partner as coupled with romance elements - that is why I fear that even a romance mod that only concerns relationships and no actual gameplay would also fall flat.

3 (B). ALISTAIR (of course). In my case, I totally fell for Alistair and feel none of the other characters come close to the realistic treatment he is given in the original (of course, this impression could be biased due to my own gender/preference/dating history). In any case, I am hoping to see Alistair as a romantic partner / party member in a future sequel/expansion. Silly as it may sound - his presence made me feel much less lonely while playing this single player game, like someone was actually there with me and, at times, it was easy to forget that you weren't playing an online multiplayer game with someone else. Heck, it almost made me feel a bit less sad about not being able to play computer games with my husband or talk with him much for almost a year (an army guy, off in Iraq "serving the country"). I know, I know, it may sound pathetic to some people, but from my perspective, at least Alistair gave me an outlet for some kind of online romance/male companionship without actually cybercheating on my husband. ;) Artificial intelligence or not. And odd as it may seem, it helped me through some hard, lonely times. (Sorry, Zevran just doesn't do it for me at all, it must be some kind of chemistry/personality thing).

3 © Steve Valentine. While I would love to see Alistair back, I feel that at the VERY LEAST they should being back Steve Valentine to play someone else (maybe related to Alistair). While it may sound odd to hear his voice on someone else, I think that would be compensated by the fact that no voice actor in computer game history has ever had such a combination of funny/romantic/engaging characteristics in his portrayal of a game character - and I doubt a better choice can be made if the goal is to portray a realistic love interest for women. And no, Alistair and Anders do not sound very similar to me - in my opinion, Anders has a considerably more whiny voice that lacks the smooth, deep pitch voice that Steve Valentine gave Alistair's voice (mainly in intimate, serious conversations with female PCs). I am not saying Greg Ellis is a bad voice actor certainly, but I believe Steve Valentine would have him beat hands down when it comes to any kind of romance dialogue.

4. Spells/Abilities not "topping out" so soon. I would like to see the spells have additional stages, so that you don't reach the last in the row quite so soon - in other words, I would like some particularly powerful spells to only be accessible after you almost reached the final level (and maybe even requiring special quests to unlock). I also miss the BG system of having to find the spells throughout the world instead of automatically being able to learn them.

5. Some changes to the dialogue system. I would like a mix of the old and the new dialogue system, where you can't ask quite as many things right off the bat while being anywhere in the world. Sometimes, it seemed a bit silly how NPC could casually and calmly be telling you about little cute scenes from their childhood when visiting a dangerous area and with the entire party splattered with blood. Instead of always having go to the camp for the serious conversations (which would seem a bit forced), I would like to see "resting points" throughout the world (taverns and inns - maybe actually sleep on a real bed for once). You would then be able to ask characters more personal questions only in these areas, and the dialogue "out in the field" would rather be triggered different items/events - to me this seems like it would be the best of both worlds.

1) Not importing the Warden. I want new origins, and new races.

2) New Races. Namely Qunari, and Darkspawn disciple.

3) A helmet toggle button. Like Mass Effect 1, so I'll be able to keep my helmet on during conversations.

4) Returning characters, namely Justice, Sten and Shale.

1. a graphics update - i love how da:o and awakenings looked but thought it could look better then it did

2.romances/conversations- would love for them to bring it back it just made u care about the characters more and broght u into the story more i thought.and the conversations i
i would be nice to not have black and white answers. same sex romances

3.magewear- the clothing for mages seemed always like they were just rages would like more of a variation in the robes and the hoods would be nice if they looked
more like a hood then a cone

4.waepons/armor -maybe a little more variation of weapons and armors for all classes

5. jobs/classes- more choices between diff types of jobs and have blance within them all to where each diff class u play the game different or different kind of stratagy and be able to be more types of races

6.story- appearances of old companions and maybe even 1 or 2 of them as companions again.a strong continuation ur character from da: o and conequences of
morrigans dark ritual

7. a good story- i loved the sotry in da :o so please keep up with a huge amazing story that the player to get as so emmersed
into the story and care for the characters and whats happening

I have but 3 main wishes:

1. Morrigan.

2. Alistair.

3. Griffins.

Beyond that, I don't really care what happens, because I'm sure I'll enjoy it... but while we're making wishes I suppose some PC emotions would be nice. Interesting as a voiced PC would be, it's not gonna happen; far as I can tell, there are 5 voices for each race/gender, so if we wanted our PC to have a voice, almost every single line in the game would have to be recorded by 30 different people. Not gonna happen, guys.

I personally think the combat system is fine. Character generation should maybe allow for different body types, but I think that's all that's necessary in that area. The hairstyles are a bit weird, but come on, people, we're medieval warriors, not fashion divas. ;P

Of course I'd like continuity from the previous game, in regards to major decisions as well as returning party members and whatnot. Basically, I just want more of the same. The game was great, I don't need any major changes. : )

Er, anyways. I suppose I've rambled enough for now.

Personally the biggest thing I would like to see in any sequel is refinement of the sale model which is basically continuity across all platforms and all regions. As it stands we have camera view being different between console and PC (PC get an Isometric view option Console don't), we have download only Awakenings in Europe but disk based the rest of the world (PS3) and some countries are left out completely with the expansions.

Other than that (I am basing this only on Origins as I have not played Awakening (£32 download for PS3...I think not!) there is not much. Reduction in bugs as any game and a little more polish generally but other than that I think it was very good and should only improve on when they have rather than re-invent the wheel

Bigger font. This has been a problem with almost every Bioware game and a lot of other developers have this problem too. People are not play on 800 x 600 resolution anymore.

Actually the characters of Dragon Age Origins were totally unnaturally stuck up and annoying (Morrigan=I am a socialdarwinist aetheist Sten=I am historical sparta/Platos State Wynne=I'm just a know-it-all but totally bland, Leliana=I'm just a confused attention **** whose mind can only but the most superficial of concepts, Dog=Woff, Ogren=A bad joke that was old before it was told the first time and finally unhardened Alistair=Goofy and semi insightful but still sees the world in black and white when it all comes down to business and as such is actually very judgemental and unforgiving) bar post hardened Alistair (Although its extremely easy to miss out on hardening him unless you know how to do it) and I don't want any of them back.

Nathaniel Howe on the other hand was a well rounded realistic character who still stood out with a unique personality.

One change would vastly improve gameplay for me. Remove the walkmeshes!!! In my opinion whoever first devised the "walkmesh" has been practicing blood magic of the darkest sort. He/she should be hung, drawn and quartered, then burned at the stake. Everything else (with the possible exception of mouse control) about the game is great. But when you get used to the complete freedom of movement allowed in games like Fallout 3 and Oblivion having your movement restricted by a 3 foot high ditch or a fence can be maddening.

Make being King or Queen consort matter. The main problem I had with DAA was that the only Anora/Alistair know anout this.

Templar You can't conscript this mage!!!

Anora I'll allow it.

Templar yes your majesty.

It shouldve just been

Templar Fine you can conscript him sense your King consort.

Also specialisation needs reworked no level caps you had to respec as a warrior or mage because of that with the health/stamina bonuses.

And stealing trap making and poisons should really just be rogue skills so it felt like mages and warriors need some of their own or just put those in talents.

The two big things I really want are continuity and to scrap Awakening's convo system, it's the whole reason why lots of people didn't care in the slightest for any of the characers (excluding Oghren who was saved by his sexual innuendo). I want DA2 to be in Orlais, not involve a blight (but bands of darkspawn here and there is fine), have the option to import our Warden, and have the DR as an important plot point throughout the game. To those who prefer the US, I DON'T LIKE YOU. No I'm kidding, I love the whole lot of you, but if Bioware decide to canonize the ending of Origins then its most likely going to involve the DR (think about it, they promised us that Origins wasn't the last we'd see of Morrigan plus the DR is one of the best loose plot threads I've seen since I started playing games).

Oh and also, I really hope they don't give the main character a voice. For the love of all that is sacred don't do it. They gave Shepard a voice to make the game seem more like a movie and to help the less RPG inclined (I totally pissed 100 people off right there, sorry) along to make the convo system as simple as possible. DA was made as a nod to the hardcore fans of the Baulder's Gate, NWN and to a lesser extent, KOTOR days. A talking PC would totally go against the hardcore mindset that the game was originally created around. Think about it, in ME, as much as the choices allow you to personalize Shepard, they're still Shepard. Shepard comes off as being more of a reflection of you instead of actually being you in the ME universe. You see what I'm getting at? In DA, the Warden is a completely blank slate, and you really feel by the end of the game that it IS you in this amazing fantasy world. Even KOTOR which had a predetermined name (kind of) and backstory for the main character still felt like you really were Revan, something that I think can't be achieved if you just give the protagonist a voice. And I'd rather read my whole response than just a few words of it anyday. But that's just me.

1. A Sapient Darkspawn Disciple Companion preferably Hurlock - Bioware you had a chance to do this in awakening instead of giving us justice I would have much rather prefer you give us that guy who was betrayed by mother instead it gives him a reason to join you instead of justice "I want revenge for kristof"

2. A completely new playable nation of Thedas instead of Feredeln. the Par Vollen/Seheron, Free Marshes, Anderfels, and Nevara all sound really interesting places for a new setting. Maybe allow us to visit multiple nations instead of just having the game focus on one. Maybe your apart of a war which has you invading another nation..

3. More Races... why not allow us to be a Qunari? Perhaps you can have two Qunari Origins.. one for a Qunari Soldier and one for a Tal'Vashtoh.

4. As mentioned before more battles and have a more strategic meaning behind them.

More Warfare based, after all DA:O is all about combat and strategy... Probably war with the Qunari. something inspired by crusades settings, or religious schism and battles, maybe a new Elf uprising, cause if DA is a loose adaptation of European middle age, well that was one of the major focus of war at this time. It's not gonna be world peace and human love because a simple blight has been stopped, hey ? feelin Thedas as an interacting world...at war...

Capes and cloaks, I think that there should be capes and cloaks because it makes people look more lordly.

Better mage hats as the cowls are not really my style and could do with a better look.

To have the hair of the avatars actually move in the wind.

being able to go anywhere, and have the roaming options of Oblivion as an example.
