The patron saint of hate and madness, Kefka Palazzo!

Quotes:"I will hunt them down. I will destroy them all! Destroy! Destroy! Destroy!"

"I will destroy everything! I will create a monument to non-existence!"

"Nothing can beat the music of hundreds of voices screaming in unison!"

"I hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate you!"

Accomplishments:Usurping the power of ancient, forsaken Gods to achieve Godhood himself, razing the planet's continents, killing most of the world's inhabitants, bringing about the collapse of civilization.

Why I like him:He's basically what would happen if a nuclear bomb gained sentience and a sense of humor. He's so over the top, diabolically evil that it's comical. Best of all, he's not whom you'd suspect as the main villain in the beginning of the game. On the contrary, final Fantasy VI starts off as your cliched defeat the evil empire plot. Due to a dramatic shift of events though, the struggle is no longer about defeating tyranny, none of that matters anymore. Surviving itself is the best thing you can hope for because the power of a God has been obtained by about the worst person you could possibly imagine.

Other stuff:Final Fantasy VI's final missions bare a superficial resemblance to the suicide mission in Final Fantasy VI. You have to gather your party, and then confront Kefka at his tower and depending on the circumstances and the choices you make, some of your party members may die.

why you like him/her: Nostalgia. And I like his design. And the fact that he's an appealing character without even saying a word.

Celes Chere is up there, as is Fall-from-Grace. Iori Yagami is an okay antihero, and had a refreshingly original and funky design when he debuted in King of Fighters '95. The dragon from the Panzer Dragoon series, if only because those dragons are among the very short list of overgrown lizards that impressed me.

My favorite villain is probably Lezard Valeth. Out of the countless lunatics in various RPGs, he's by far the one I found most entertaining.

My absolute top pick would take time to choose. I resonate strongest with underdog characters that rarely get to shine or look badass, but when they do shine, it's blindingly bright. Miles 'Tails' Prower from the Sonic series, for instance, ranks higher than those I mentioned so far.

Garrus Vakarian - Mass Effect 1 + 2

Zaeed Massani - Mass Effect 2

Zoey - Left 4 Dead

Ellis - Left 4 Dead 2

Sigrun - Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening

Reilly - Fallout 3

But, really, I've played too many games to remember all my favorites.

That was unexpected. Reilly's Rangers is probably my favourite quest from Fallout 3. That game definitely has some characters I wish were developed more beyond a couple of dialogue lines and/or entries on a terminal.
