Bah! It looks like only SuZe, Thane, and Garrus will get new costumes. The other 9 are S.O.L.

People keep posting this link but where does he say that this is the only apperance pack coming out? its like assuming that the flamethrower was the only heavy weapon coming out because they didn't mention the Arc Projector

I honestly don't even know if I'll buy this. I don't care enough about it either way honestly.

Having said that, the option to change 3 team members appearance for $2 is there for the people that DO care. If you don't care you can go on about your day completely unaffected by this. Why this would cause people to get so upset, I have no idea.

It's less about the price, and more about it being insulting.

look I disagree with how these damn game companys restrict the game from adding weapons without having to go through DLC which IMO its stupid as hell. IMO that would explain why they did away with inventory so they count charge us for every single bit that they took out of the game. They will always use the excuse that they couldnt release it in time for the game which IMO is lies. Look put it this way the first thing developers work on is concept art, Clothing, weapons and Accessories, its funny cuz usually you develop tons of stuff then narrow down a few. for exampl look at ME1's Inventory. SCREW GREEDY CORPORATIONS!!!! they milk the customers for more and more money for BS addons(not saying that the ones we have recieved so far are all crap) but im sick of these Corprate douche bags.

Technically, if one were inclined to be pedantic about it, the Cerberus network isn't free, it cost's MS points.

The fact that up untill a certain date, theose people that buy a new copy of the game get a download code for it, doesn't mean it's classed as being free.  If it were then there would be no option to buy it.

There's an option to buy it because of the used game market. The Network itself is free if you bought the game new. If you didn't buy the game new the $15 ironically offsets any lower price you would've paid.

This thread is basically people complaining about other people having the option to spend money on completely optional stuff. You can pretend the Cerberus Network never came out and still beat the game just fine.

Unless they decide to change things with future print runs, the network is only free upto the 1st Jan 2011, after that the codes no longer work.

But you are absolutely right, you can play the game without any of the DLC, but it would be a bit odd in places as there are references in it to some of the DLC.

Though I know that evidence of absense is not absense of evidence, it just sure sounds that way.

seriously.......it's $2.00. My 3 year old has enough extra cash to buy it and not care. Please remember DLC is not a requirement. You don't like it, don't buy it. Not every DLC is aimed to please the whole user base. The is tons of DLC that is aimed at a small group of people who may like it. That's the reason for the small size and price, they weren't gonna dive a ton of resources into a niche dlc. Which is what this is. Just cause this particular DLC isn't in YOUR niche, don't cry cause Bioware isn't holding you hand to peepee.

The glasses look stupid. It feels like they just want you to pay money because they didn't include variety into the game. I get it, its only 160 but they look like crap. Sue me.

Garrus isnt to bad, its just what he looked like in ME.

Valid point.  I do think I would buy this if it were, oh, six outfits.

Key thing, those outfits would be for Jack, Miranda, and Jacob.  Jack would be wearing some kind of sleeveless yet down-to-her-pants vest in one of her looks, and a pressure suit skinned like her tats for the other new one.  Miranda and Jacob... hmm.  They'd get two hardsuits in my book.  They don't have to be functional, but they have to look it.

Okay, I've recovered from 'InternetRage' all the way to 'ConstructiveCriticism/Request' in only three posts. :D

I'd pay £2 for a costume pack for every teammate, but £2 for 3 is stupid for something that should have been in the game anyway.
now they're gonna sell them in packs of 3's for £2

Personally, I wouldn't mind if this thing costs money or not. I'll probably end up buying it because it's about the price of a brown-bag lunch.

Now if EA and/or Bioware started charging money for items that allowed players to obtain a significant advantage, then that's a different ballgame there. I suppose it's not much of a big deal since this is single player game, but if this was an online multiplayer game, then it could raise my eyebrows a bit.

I would rather them charge for Fluff items like this and put items that effect game play on CN, than them fill CN with Fluff and them make us pay for additional missions and weapons.

To clarify, is it two pounds in Britain?  It's two dollars in US currency (£1.32 if the exchange calculator I found is right) but I don't know how much Live points cost in the UK.

Great Idea!
Instead of just putting one new skin for 3 partymembers and charging 2 euro/dollar whatever, it would be nicer to see an armor dlc for each members containing around 5 new skins for each. It would allow for more customizations, since you could download it for the members you like to use, and you could choose not to buy the other ones.
Personally I would pay around 5 dollars for each, but thats just me :)

Sure, I'll elaborate. It seems like they could easily sell 12 costumes for $2, but want to test the boundries of how weak willed the customer is by chopping it up and selling only 25% of the product for full price in order to maximize gain.  So instead of an actual "alternative appearance pack" we get a "1/4th alternative appearance pack."

This, of course, is smart business. However, smart business in this case tends to imply some guilibility on the part of the consumer.

With all other DLC we are atleast getting a relatively complete product. What they're doing to this DLC would be analogous to chopping up the Kasumi DLC mid-mission and making you buy it in parts at full price. Also, I mentioned in my previous post how in Oblivion's much lamented Horse Armor, Bethesda didn't chop up the horse armor and sell it in pieces for each individual horse, which is what Bioware/EA seem to be doing now.

To me, it's insulting to my intelligence that they are selling me a partial product at full price and think that the gamer's are too dumb to see it for what it is.

Charging. For skins.

And the Cerberus Network is for...what, exactly?

It had so much potential, but they are just flushing it down the toilet.

And I thought Bioware was generous :(

Are you serious? They gave us Zaeed, his mission, the Cerberus Armor, Eviscerator Shotgun, the Arc Projector, the Hammehead and 5 Firewalker missions free. They are charging $2 for this which isn't much, and if you don't want to buy it the game isn't affected at all. It's basically like buying furniture for Home on PSN, which ironically costs more than $2 yet people still buy it.

Trust me the firewalker pack is free for a reason just watched you tube video of the missions, and every one of them is 2/3 mins tops, so your getting what you paid for, with the purchase of the original game ...

Five dollars? ... hmm.  Not sure a dollar a skin is a good ratio, especially since I could hammer out a skin in about a day on GIMP.  For Second Life, of course, and not a particularly good one, but still, this isn't a bad idea, though I'd start at, say, three dollars per pack of skins, and maybe do combo packs for a discount.  Still, I really think having Jack in something like light Colossus armor would help ridiculously in my enjoyment of the game.  (AND hearing her kvetch about it.  But that's purely bonus content IMO, BioWare.)

We got some free armor, a few weapons, and the hovertank. Im sure theres probably going to be more things added in the future, but the large things cost money to create. This is not one of those things, but atleast its not as bad as horse armor. Three armors for horses,i think 8$(maybe 5$). Atleast its not a huge ripoff.
