As for "cheapening the franchise" - if you don't like it, don't buy it. I'm not sure yet if I can get over the ugly glasses, so personally I'm holding off on buying for now. But different strokes for different folks!

I refuse to refer to this as anything other than Mass Effect Horse Armor. The name "Alternate Appearance Pack" means nothing to me.
I'm sorry to ask that but I see this expression everywhere... what do you mean by Horse Armor?

Ok, thanx for the quick answer.
And to your question. Horse Armor refers to the first DLC to Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. They released three different armors that could be attached to your horse.

Thanks Chris, I'll take Firewalker but I'm not wasting $2 to make Jack look like Geordi LaForge.

wtf@cost though, hammerhead comes out at sametime and thats free, yet they decide to charge by a minor pack thats 'less' than any of the free items on the cerberus network?
easier to believe all the crazy theorys now that zaeed/hammerhead etc was already ready at before games launchs and was stripped to make it look like the cerberus network was awesome - since they decide to charge us for a minor 3 costumes ...

should be more like 160 for one pack containing an additional costume for each character.

Heck if Bioware made it 2 per character and tacked on some gamer score and wrote each person a hand sighed check for $50 some people would still complain.

It was only two armors actually, steel and elven. And it made Shadowmere disappear if you equipped it on her
But Bethesda did learn from that as evidenced by Shivering Isles and Fallout 3 DLC. We'll see if BioWare does..

I only have it because it was a part of GOTY edition, i refuse to use money, no matter how little, to this kind of meaningles DLC.

I see, the third one must have been a mod then
And Shivering Isles is one of the best DLC Ive played.

The first bit of downloadable content for TES: Oblivion was Horse Armor, and it was just that. Armor for your horse. It was way overpriced (about the same as some of their full add-ons for Fallout) and since little was announced before its release many people downloaded it thinking it was a proper addon. Needless to say there was significant backlash from the community.
While Bethesda learned from their mistakes and made some great DLC for Fallout, the term Horse Armor became somewhat of an Internet meme for overpriced and/or superfluous DLC. In this case I'm calling the AA Pack both.
