I am not arguing that it is not done anywhere or that EA is the lesser of any evil.
My statements are revovling aroung at how voracious EA is and frankly they are part of a pack leading the way offering nickel and dime DLC that aren't worth dimes or nickels.
Even if sales of their DLC go down or don't meet expectations the blame will fall on Bioware, customers, and the favored scapegoat pirates. EA will use those excuses to increase the cost of DLC rather than obeying the laws of supply/demand.

True, when crap DLC comes out, whoever the dev/pub is, they are responsible for it of course. (A little bit off topic: Nacmo-Bandai is the King of crap dlc, I guess they are less know in western world since their game are more...hmm how to put it...Japanese/Asian style.) But you need 'dumb' customer to fuel it too, for example: when companies can sell PS3/Xbox wallpaper/theme w/e for 3 bucks why would they stop?
'Crappy' dlc will keep coming out, but as long as compaines still put out quailty DLC that is worth the purchase, it is ok.
Why charge for any content sort of an expansion pack?hex23 wrote...

Are you serious? They gave us Zaeed, his mission, the Cerberus Armor, Eviscerator Shotgun, the Arc Projector, the Hammehead and 5 Firewalker missions free. They are charging $2 for this which isn't much, and if you don't want to buy it the game isn't affected at all. It's basically like buying furniture for Home on PSN, which ironically costs more than $2 yet people still buy it.

Does not matter at all. Stuff like this was advertised and promoted to be free from the get go. They made a big deal about buying the game new and getting the cerberus network for FREE DLC.

For me the money isn't the issue, its the nature of the content that I don't like. I love you Bioware, but this isn't the content I want for an RPG.

In a top 10 list of bad companies it doesn't make a difference if EA is #1 or #10; bad is bad.
Themes and wallpaper are standardized in a way the customer knows what to expect for 3 bucks.
I have played Tales of Vesparia. I have seen the DLC for it, laughable.
Question even if it is EAs right to produce as much DLC as they want and charge any fee they want, do I want a ME2 DLC list the resembles Tales of Vesperia or would I rather have a DLC list the resembles FO3 or even Borderlands.
Quality DLC from EA. So far this year it isn't looking likely for customers.

Technically, if one were inclined to be pedantic about it, the Cerberus network isn't free, it cost's MS points.
The fact that up untill a certain date, theose people that buy a new copy of the game get a download code for it, doesn't mean it's classed as being free. If it were then there would be no option to buy it.
Because they are a business and they want to make money? At least to me a more reasonable question would be: why would they give anything away for free? But I'm a capitalist at heart. Personally I'm not that interested in the appearance pack so I probably won't be buying it, but it certainly doesn't bother me that they are charging for it.Weiser_Cain wrote...

That's fine. You can conveniently pretend this content doesn't exist, and the game isn't affected at all.
Basically people are complaining that Bioware is charging $2 for something that some people want to pay $2 for. You don't like it? Act like it never came out. Problem solved.
