While ME2 is a really amazing game and I'm looking forward to ME3, I'm sorry to say that I'm finding BioWare to be more and more of a sellout ever since they joined EA. It's no surprise though, especially given EA's reputation on the gaming industry.

They're not providing any official modding support. They're charging people, even the ones that got the Collector's Edition ( which the digital edition has a crummy PDF with craptastically compressed and low resolution concept arts ), for a character that should have been in the game at the get-go. No Eyefinity support. Poor performance with cinematic lights + AA enabled. Reusing the same problematic and highly restrictive Unreal Engine 3 when they have their own engine, Eclipse, which would remedy many of the graphical limitations such as a lack of Eyefinity and proper AA. Hell, we might have even seen official modding support if they went with the Eclipse Engine since they won't have to worry about acquiring a license for a SDK.

I loved it! The DLC is great! The story of it is amazing, the mission I think is a bit longer than some others, certainly very interesting and again unique, the several real cool cutscenes (when she's describing the plan and when she's in the guy's memory) are great, and Kasumi is actually great, to my surprise! She seems like someone I'd love to have ties with, if I were in the ME universe.

Great DLC, totally worth my money, and the dragon age and ME1 references were awesome! (also is "Recruit the Master Thief a Halo reference"?)

PS: How did he get the statue of liberty's head? WTF happened back in NY?!

This was a great dlc, for only being $7, it was fun.

What I liked:

Was greatly surprised at the level of depth Kasumi had as a character. All I was really expecting was another Zaeed, a bad ass character but little story. Kasumi however had a really good story to go along with her bad ass self.

The mission was fun. Not only do I get my Shepard a nice suit, but the whole mission had a very James Bond kind of feel to it. Even Donovan Hock had that great old Bond villain feel to him. And I got to say, when I was sneeking into Hock’s room, it was so much fun using my Vangaurd charge and knocking the gaurds off the ledge. They had the funniest screams.

I like how she isn’t a romance interest. *ducks rocks from others* I don’t think it’d fit with her story that well. At least in this game, maybe if she returns in ME3 I’ll think differently. This is a girl who’s been in love, lost that love, and on a mission to get the only thing she can of her man back. Going from that to loving Shep, would feel weak.

Her room. My god the Normandy does have a bar. I can’t be the only one who lol’ed at that. I also like how you talk to her. Like Zaeed you look at different things around her room. Most of them have a good story to them.

How she takes out the big figher ship is cool.

I love her loyalty outfit. Red is awesome!

I love her stealth strike.

Things I was disappointed with:

Her stealth strike is broken. Its pretty much a one hit kill when leveled up all the way. Still love it though.

While playing with her I found two glitches.

1) once out of three play throughs of her mish (since I have three files >.<) she would not recognize that all enemies had been killed and would not disable the shields on the gun ship, so I had to reload the fight. Not really a big deal but its there.

2) I beat the game with her in my party, and when the floor is falling out from under the party she was the one sliding off, however her model was invisible, so it looked like Shepard was taking a nose dive for no reason.

I agree with most of what you said. I didn't run into any of the bugs you did, but I ran into a few of my own:

1) The first time I went to recruit her, I couldn't here her voice until I actually talked to the advertisement. I wasn't even sure this was a bug until I went to get her on my second Shepard.
2) When my second Shepard went to talk to her, she kept talking about my FemShep and Jacob as though we'd broken up, every time I talked to her until she said to come back later, and my Shep was still with Jacob.

And Asari. Asari as far as the eye can see.

Anyway, I love the Kasumi DLC. Nice new character, a bar in the Normandy and damn, that outfit for my femshep is sexy! The mission was great too. I read some things about how it felt like a James Bond movie and I must agree. Surprisingly, it it didn't feel out of place at all. So kudo's to BioWare for pulling a mission like this of. And is it just me, or did her loyalty mission actually took more time to complete than a regular recruiting mission?

Nice new system too. A planet named after the Dutch word for 'The head'? Epic win.

The new DLC was really nice, the investigation in the beginning is something different and the combat part is challenging, at least on Insanity. I would have loved some more dialogue with Kasumi though, the whole Zaeed-like approach is somewhat restrictive.

Keep 'em coming BioWare, as long as you keep it honest we will keep supporting you. No more CLOTHES for sale, please.

I don't understand. Zaeed was part of the Cerberus Network DLC, why isn't Kasumi? Can someone clarify this for me?

Kasumi and all the DLC for Mass Effect 2 is BioWares answer to used games. If you get a used version of ME2 you don't get the network code so you can't get all the DLC. It makes people either buy the network code for $20 or go buy a new version of ME2 which has the code with it. In the end BioWare like any company wants to and needs to make profit from their products and dlc like Kasumi is a sure way to do it.

Care for some cheese with your whine?

1) You're not owed any modding support. By ANY developer. Some may be ok with people fracking with their creation and that's fine. But it doesn't make them evil because they don't want to make it easy for people to screw with what they built.

2) Kasumi "should have been included" Yeah. This from someone who has a serious case of Entitlement Syndrome.

Yea I was waiting 4 Kasumi pack impatiently but its a little half-baked.
really miss romance option 4 male Shepard and full dialogue with Kasumi san
Kasumi should have katana 4 shadow strike.
Fem Shepard dress almost good (didn't know she got cellulite on her breast--> too much bump map there)(3d model could be slightly better) and second thing --- animation: she moves with a grace of an ape. Man... she is in dress not in heavy armour she should use catwalk.

I am just starting a new game with Fem Shepard and I was thinking the samething 5 mins ago her running style is that of a Female Char for Dragon Age in Armor.

You have no right to talk if you feel compelled to mock someone.

First off, there's no need -not- to include modding support. BioWare released an official SDK for Dragon Age for modders, which need I remind you was released prior to Mass Effect 2. The -only- reason why they don't release a SDK for Mass Effect 2 is because they don't have a license for it since they don't own the engine. Had they stuck with the Eclipse engine, there might actually be official modding support and third party content, let alone proper Eyefinity and widescreen support.

Second off, Kasumi was already confirmed as a character before Mass Effect 2 was even released in a couple of E3 trailers. Not only that, but there were already data files for the character within the release build of Mass Effect 2. I don't see BioWare asking their customers to spend $10 for a character to be an overly level method of conducting business, especially if said customer is the owner of the Collector's Edition. This is the reason why people are resorting to piracy while honest customers get slapped in the face with DLC fees and invasive DRM.

Nice job Bioware, enjoying this DLC. Keep up the good work. No seriously...I want more. :<

Also to the whiners saying Kasumi was already in the game, the 1GB dl says otherwise, they obviously didnt get to finish it before release. Be happy you have the opportunity to get her at all. If you don't want to pay, that's good for you but don't give bioware crap because you can't afford a measly 7 bucks. Yes, it's 7, not 10.

Me too :) It's really challenging on Insanity, especially for the vanguard. theres nowhere to charge on the whole level without being shot from behind (unless you get lucky). I'm really grateful at the liberal amount of ammo drops on the final fight too. I could camp next to a crate and blast away wit the *awesome* new smg. I think I still like the tempest better, but for the beginning of a new game, it replaces the shuriken ten fold.

Keep 'em coming! But i will ask that you give future additions to the team a better ability than deadly strike (or w/e its called). 90% of the time I told her to use it, she ignored me or told me she couldn't get there despite the person being right in front of her. She did kill one of the YMIRs with it after i dropped its defenses though XD

Dear Bioware! After giving you lip for the Hammerhead (which still sucks in almost every possible way), I have to give credit when its due.

Kasumi DLC is interesting, fun and beutiful. Money well spent on my part.
However, next time you feel the need to include a character speaking a strong dialect, it would be wise to pick a voice actor that actually speaks it. Donovan Hock and his scottish/russian horror hybrid pretty much ruin the feel every time he says something.

otherwise: Very well done indeed.

Kasumi - mission seems like garrus recruitment (preparations before, then much action, then gunship and spawning troops), and Kasumi AI seems to be suicide - i had to use unity many times in the mission. Also, her voice sounds bad, but she is a nice person.
